You're welcome, Aditya. That's the only Baldacci novel I've read, so I had nothing to compare it to.. I'm glad you're enjoying it!

I can be a little intimidating, but speaking personally (I'm currently re-reading the series, roughly 145 pages into A Clash of Kings,) the pages flow very easily. I hope you find it that way, as well, Lorraine.:)

I finished it a couple of days ago a very good & entertaining read as fast paced a book as I ever read.If you liked it you may want to check out the few series he has written like King & Maxwell or Camel Club (which I hear is good though I am yet to read it).

Jason (darkfiction) | 18 comments I'm about 800 pages into Under the Dome in preparation for the upcoming television show. Looking forward to it. The book is kicking some serious ass, imo. A ton of fun to read. I only hope that the television series doesn't ruin it.

I have read The Innocent, The Hit, and Zero Day by David Baldacci and loved them. I have quickly become a Baldacci fan. I have a couple of the King and Maxwell books to read sometime in the near future.

I am yet to read any of them though I hope to get to them sooner rather than later.I have not read that many of Baldacci's books maybe 5 or 6 but whatever I had read I had liked.
The one I really liked was The Sixth Man which was incidentally the first Baldacci book I read.

I'm reading Moon by James Herbert right now, Jacob. It's alright so far. Kind of a dry read for me, though. I'm glad it is a short book.

Figured I'd finally take a crack at Clive Barker, especially since I have a month's worth of free time in my hands, and his debut novel The Damnation Game seemed like a nice place to start. His prose is actually really good and I was very involved with the story from the very first page. Very evocative first chapter.

Aditya I started off with It It by Stephen King . I had heard some great things about it but seeing it is over 1000 pages I think at some point of time it is going to become a tedious & boring read.

I had read a couple of hundred of books but am yet to encounter one where the author had managed to hold the interest of his readers beyond 650 pages at most.Hope It can be the first one.

Hi, Aditya!

Maybe it's just me, but I highly doubt you'll ever find IT to be tedious and boring. It's a wonderful story from start to finish. I couldn't put it down.

Hello Dustin.
I have just completed Part 1 of the book (there are 5 parts) & so far it is good.I don't usually read such long novels but I decided if there was any one author who can make such a length book remotely interesting for me it has to be King.It has started strongly, hope it remains so till the end.

It is great to know you got the time to reread some of your favorites because with so many new books being added to my shelves I doubt I will reread anything in the near future.

message 147: by Dustin (new)

Dustin Hi, Aditya!

I agree that if any author can keep you interested through a thousand plus page book, King can and does, IMO. I'm happy to hear that it's going well for you so far. IT definitely remained strong from start to finish for me.

I adore re-reads!

About to complete the second part of the book (reading has been slow due to other stuff) & it has not yet grated on my nerves so I think the length won't be too much of an issue. The book describing two timelines helps the pace.

King still should have cut down on some description which feels too long but as long as the story moves forward & there are not any chapters where nothing of note happens I am fine with a bit of extra sentences/information albeit unneeded.

Costas Ioannou (greek_tornado) | 77 comments I agree with Dustin. I have found that Stephen King is one of the few authors that can keep me interested while reading a very long book.
Right now, I'm finishing Imajica , and it felt excruciatingly long! It did get a little better on the second half though.
