Question from the newbie - is there a page count the book has to have to qualify??

Hi Melissa,

If you have any questions regarding the game...you can check the Q & A if you like. From previous games I gathered that you have to have a minimum number of pages for a book to qualify (otherwise you could sneak in a 20 pages short or something). The minimum number of pages is set to 200 pages as far as I know (which is the last answer on the first post of the Q&A).

Once you start the game...everything becomes simple..reading the rules make the game seem more complicated than it really is.

Hi, Melissa, Val's right. There's a 200 page minimum during the game. Just remember to check-in with your team once a week. We're happy to answer any questions you have along the way. I think you'll enjoy it! It's very easy to play and you'll end up with a TON of new books on your TBR shelf, for sure. :)

Excellent ~ thanks ladies! I have a lot of books that are over 170 but below 200 and for one team challenge I'm in 170's all good but the other one & this one now 200 or more. I just have to keep track.

Hehe me too. I have Cat in the Hat everything, well almost everything. Despite all the great novels I read Dr. Seuss is my favorite author. He was genius.

I'm both ecstatic and apprehensive about BSB R7. Ecstatic because OMG BSB! I ADORE this game. Apprehensive because, while I haven't enrolled for the Summer 2013 semester in Uni, I have started a new job and my bosses are trying to kill me (which is why I've been MIA lately). I won't let my team down (hell, I'll read on my lunch breaks if I have to) but I definitely won't be as active on my team thread as I was in previous rounds. I'm determined to do this. After a succession of suckass, I need to do something for me.

I hear ya, LL! Good luck with both your job and uni! I hope BSB provides some fun and not add'l stress. :D

Man, ya know, it's not nice to gang up on me like that, ladies. >;) I won't share the full list - you'll see the cards soon enough. But, I'll tell that, in addition to some of those that have been used in previous rounds and two "personal shelves", we've included some chosen from your suggestions (in the BSB R7 and beyond suggestion thread). A couple new shelves this round include: guilty pleasures, aliens, and soul mates. That's all for now. You'll just have to be patient and wait for the big reveal when cards are posted. :p

Cool. Checked out guilty pleasures. Those players who are trying to marathon read Sookie, Anita Blake, Mercy Thompson, or the BDB will be in luck -- yet another list they're featured heavily on. :D Harry Dresden showed up around page 6 -- only 12 people find him a guilty pleasure. ;-)

I doesn't sound like it would work for ya, Joanne. Your vaca covers more than one week of the game and we require everyone check in at least once a week.

I'm a little worried about the soul mates shelf though. I've looked through all 14 pages of books tagged as soul-mates and I have none on my TBR. :( I might have to reread a book I've already read if that shelf comes up early on.
