Ever raised an eyebrow when he was talking, then giggled.
" Don't worry, I know what you mean," she smiled.

He was relieved for that at least, sighing softly. He looked up at the menu, noticing it was all in Japanese of course. "Great, I don't understand the things that I should know the most..." he chuckled.

Ever looked up as well, blinking a few times and waiting for the actual pictures to show up.
" Okay...I think that one says...fries...? And that one...is.........soda...? Hold on," she said going up to the register. After a moment, a middle aged women showed up.
" Makudonarudo e yōkoso. Watashi wa dono yō ni anata o tasukeru kamo shirenai?" she women asked with a kind voice. Ever didn't understand much, but probably guessed she was saying welcome and what she wanted.
" Uhhhh...Anata wa.....eigo no menyū...o imasu ka? Enlish uh....English menu...?" she tried to tell the lady. The lady seemed to understand and smiled, handing her one that was English. Ever sighed then, going back over to Jake with a smile.

He raised an eyebrow, highly impressed. "Well look at you, you obviously know a lot more Japanese than anticipated." he chuckled. He looked at the menu. "I guess I'll just get a number one..." he muttered, only because it's something he knew he would like. "Or maybe..." he paused, staring off blankly, his eyes dilated suddenly.

Ever smiled at the compliment, then looked up at him in confusion when he stopped speaking.
" Jake...J-Jake...," she said his name, touching his arm gently.

He shook for a second, then looked back at her. "Oh my god...I saw myself getting on a plane, and reading this pamphlet thing on Japanese experimentation. It was as if I was supposed to conduct them, not be one of them..." he said in a confused tone. He shook his head, "I don't know...it was totally weird."

Ever bit the inside of her lip then.
" O-oh...Hmm...," she replied, not quite knowing what to say.

He shook his head, giving a weak smile. "Don't worry about it. It may come together a little later..." he shrugged, looking at the menu again. "Do you want to order?" he asked.

Ever was still worried, but chose to ignore it for now.
" Uh...but a chicken sandwich, large fries and a small soda...," she replied, thinking she liked that....but she wasn't sure.

"I'll have the same." he smiled. "Um...can you say that in Japanese at all?" he asked, then just pointed to the menu to the cashier. He was still thinking about his sudden memory. He was so unsure of how to feel about it now.

" I probably could a little...," she said, thinking it over in her head for a moment before smiling softly at him.

"It's fine, I'm sure they understood..." he told her. He was looking around now, just trying to privately recall anything from the memory that he had earlier.

Ever nodded, looking around as well before back at Jake.
" Are you sure your okay? Do you feel like...weird or anything?" she asked, gently touching his arm and moving a bit closer to him.

"No, I don't feel weird." he told her. "You? Are you alright?" he asked, sounding genuinely concerned.

Ever shook her head.
" No I'm okay...," she replied with a smile.

Their food was ready. He grabbed the trays and looked for a spot to sit in. He just decided to sit at the table that was nearest to them. "Maybe we can find a translator or something, they can tell us how much money this is..."

Ever nodded slowly.
" Yes maybe..," she replied, biting the inside of her cheek. She wished she remembered more Japanese...She sworn she new more...though she might have forgotten after what happened.

"Are you not hungry now?" he asked, starting to eat his food. "We can keep moving if you want to..."

Ever shook her head.
" No I am....I was just thinking," she replied, smiling softly. She unwrapped the burger she got before taking a small bite, taking a bigger one once she realized she liked it.

He smiled, then continued to eat. "Ever..." he repeated. "I wonder where that name comes from." he thought out loud. "It's unique, and very...artistic."

Ever looked at him and chuckled, shrugging.
" I'm not sure...," she replied, taking a sip of her drink.

"Maybe it's good that we don't remember anything...I mean, remembering everything at once might upset us..." he suggested.

" Yeah...I can see your point," she replied, looking up at him before looking down down at her food.

"But at the same time it's frustrating..." he added. He looked around at all of the people walking around, eating their food, etc.
"So then...I guess we need to figure out somewhere that we can sleep..."

Ever nodded in agreement.
" Hmmm....? If we knew how much we had, we might be able to figure something out...," she muttered, sighing.

He shrugged, "Maybe we should just...go and see how far it gets us." he smiled. He had another plan, but figured she wouldn't be down for that. He didn't want to get her in trouble.

" Well alright," she smiled, taking another bit of her burger and a sip of her drink.

"Are you sure you're alright?" he asked. "I feel like I did or said something wrong in the last half hour...you're acting a little...distant." he told her.

Ever straightened up then, shaking her head quickly.
" No no no! Nothing's the matter...I'm just....getting tired I suppose," she replied, which wasn't a lie, she was feeling a bit tired.

"Then we need to find somewhere for you to relax..." he placed his hand on top of hers and smiled. He moved it when he realized what he was doing. "Sorry..."

Ever smiled softly, shaking her head.
" It's alright," he replied to his last comment.

Something was happening to him. He thought that Ever was very pretty, and he liked being around her. But that emotion was completely heightened, and he didn't know why. He didn't say anything because he didn't want to scare her. It must be something that was an effect of being back at that place...
Again, he put his hand on hers, holding it. He couldn't help it.

Ever didn't hesitate to take it, smiling softly up at him. She felt actually...protected by him and it was a really good feeling.

"I don't mean to be so aggressive..." he told her. And he didn't. Something was going on inside of him that he couldn't quite control. "Do you want to go see if we can find somewhere to sleep?" he asked quickly.

" Your not being at all...and okay," she replied with a wide smile. She decided she really liked Jake and she was glad he was staying with her.

He cleared their trays, ready to find somewhere that they could at least relax and try to make sense of everything. He held her hand tight, as they walked, he wanted to find somewhere quickly. He walked fast, nearly dragging her around.

Ever was practically jogging to keep up with his pace and she looked at him funny.
" Whats the rush?" he asked, looking at him questionably.

"I just want to get you somewhere safe." he told her, continuing on his way. Some guy on a cell phone rushed past, brushing against Ever. Jake nearly lost it. He let go of her and grabbed him. "Hey! Watch where the hell your going!" he yelled at him.
The man was obviously freightened, saying something in Japanese.
Jake finally tossed him to the side, watching as he rushed away.

Ever flinched slightly when he yelled, shrinking back a bit. She accidentally lost her footing and fell down, wincing slightly and then looked back up at Jake. Why had he gotten so mad all of a sudden...? It was just an accident...

He turned back to her, "Oh my god..." he rushed to her side, pulling her up. "Are you ok? Did he hurt you?" he asked. "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to freak, I just-" he stopped. His head was hurting again. "Ahhh!" he groaned in pain, falling to his knees.

Ever was going to answer when he suddenly fell down. He knelt down beside him, placing a hand gently on his back.
" What's the matter?!" she asked, tears beginning to come down her cheeks. She was so scared.

Everyone just seemed to be staring at them, no one really offered to help. He had calmed down panting to catch his breath. He opened his eyes, looking at her. "Are you alright?" he asked, still panting.

" I should be asking you that...What happened?" she asked.

"I don't know...headache..." he assumed. He stood up again. "Come on, I want to get you inside..."

" O-okay...," she replied, biting her lip and moving close to him, wrapping her arm around his arm.

He started to walk. Staring off blankly ahead in the sea of people. He wasn't sure what had come over him. Why was he so emotionally attached to her? Why did he freak out in the middle of the street? There were so many unanswered questions and he didnt like it.

Ever glanced up at him a couple times, making sure he was okay, or at least a little okay. She figured he was tired as well.

He came up to a booth, it was built into a building. He looked at it, there were pictures of rooms along the wall. "Um.. is this a hotel?" he asked, speaking loudly as if it made a difference.
"Hotel. Yes." the woman at the booth smiled. She spoke broken English and understood him well.
"Ok um..." he pulled out the money that he had found earlier. "What can we get for this?"
She counted the money and pointed to a picture. It was a nice looking room with a queen size bed. "One week." she told him.
He looked over at Ever, "Is this ok?" he asked.

Ever looked at the picture and nodded.
" Yeah thats fine," she replied with a wide smile.

He nodded to the woman, who started to process the purchase of the room. "Ever, I'm sorry...I don't know what happened just now." he told her.
