Did you enjoy Life Sentences?
Komal wrote: "Currently reading A Clockwork Orange. A dystopian thriller classic which, I think, should be read by every modern youth."
Once I got used to the language and dialogue, I really enjoyed. A unique novel.

I would recommend to anyone her The Irish Century series. She really adds flesh to the bones of history.
I finished Gently Down the Stream by Alan Hunter and enjoyed very much, even if it is not at all like the TV series. I'm focusing on Murder on Astor Place today, enjoying very much and am about to start Perfume: The Story of a Murderer which looks very interesting.
Finished
, which was one of the best books I've read in a long, long time. Also just finished
, another solid Inspector Morse tale.

Bill wrote: "I finished Gently Down the Stream by Alan Hunter and enjoyed very much, even if it is not at all like the TV series. I'm focusing on [book:Murder on Astor Place|6867..."There's also a good movie adapted from "Perfume".
I finished

I read one of her books a while ago and got a good recipe for Whippersnappers. They were a big hit when my kids took them to school for a party.

Mark Pryor's
The Crypt Thief
, featuring his series character Hugo Marston, is a psycho-killer story set in modern-day Paris that manages to feel like a 1940s detective movie co-written by Thomas Harris. If that's your thing, you might give it four stars; it ain't mine, so I gave it a strong three for style.Read the full review here.
Since I last posted I read Delayed Diagnosis by Gwen Hunter. As medical thrillers go it was very good--four stars.Next I read The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz, which I just finished. The protagonist, Isabel "Izzy" Spellman has a wacky dysfunctional family and there's a lot in this book that's laugh-out-loud funny. I really liked it--four stars.
Now I'm reading Second Honeymoon by James Patterson. So far I've been enjoying it.
I just finished 'Salem's Lot today, I thought it was a thriller more than horror. But, I loved it. Now I am reading Doing Harm, which was recommended by Stephen King. So far it is really good, and I am ready for the action to get started.
I finished Lemon Meringue Pie Murder by Joanne Fluke. Cookie shop owner Hannah Swensen is surprised when one of her boyfriends, Norman Rhodes, buys a house - lock, stock, and barrel - from Rhonda Scarf. He's going to tear down the house and build a dream home. When Hannah and her mom go out to look through the old house for antiques they find Rhonda's body. Hannah's other boyfriend, detective Mike Kingston tells her to keep her nose out of the investigation but Hannah can't resist and dives right in. Meanwhile, money from an old bank robbery starts circulating through town which provides clues to the crime. The book is full of fun characters and good cookie recipes. It's a fun light mystery. 3 stars.

Just finished Jo Nesbø's The Son and really enjoyed it. I couldn't wait for the US release; my copy came from the UK.
Currently reading The Survival of Thomas Ford
. Have read 62%, and there is this feeling of impending, horrific events to come! A great building up of suspense.
I've just finished the delightful but robust Tragic Desires - A.M. Hargrove. Now I am about to read Daughter - Jane Shemilt.
Kathryn wrote: "Olivia, I also loved Second Honeymoon and rated it 5 stars. I was surprised by the fast pace and liked it even better than the first one Honeymoon."Totally agree... and I haven't been a big fan of James Patterson's books lately!

His new book is really good. Sadly it's not out in the US for about 2 weeks.

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... This is my review for Up in Flames
. A British police procedural, first in the series. Will definitely read the second, and will check out another police series duo that she writes, with Rafferty and Llewellyn as the coppers.
Finished The Accounting by William Lashner. One of the best books I read this year. If you're an Elmore Leonard fan, you will like this even more. Only $1.99 now

I'm curious too. I disliked 11th Hour so much that I didn't care to continue on with 12 or 13.
