ARCHIVE TWO: PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF ~

My name is Anne and I am a high school teacher and college instructor, but in Forensic Science and Biology. I do however have a history degree as well and I love most areas of history. I love particularly Ancient History, regional histories of places, World Wars I and II, and Nazi Germany. But truly, I can pick up any history book and get interested.

@Cole: Thank you for your service to our country. You may want to visit the links below which address you particular interests of ancient history and military.

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you are ready to cite a book. (There is a link on the top right of the reply box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.
This is how a book should look:

We happen to have a discussion going on now of the above book and it will be going on for several more weeks. Still plenty of time to pick up the book and participate.

Welcome to the group, Matt. It's always nice to have yet another reader who shares an interest in WW II.

My name is Nathan. I'm a recent law school graduate and live in Tennessee.
I love all things history. My primary interest is early American history (probably why I went to law school).
I wanted to join a group that can guide my thoughts on what to read next and increase my knowledge in other areas of history.

Big fan of British and US History. Currently reading Manchester's posthumous work on Churchill and have in my book pile, Rick Atkins last book in his trilogy on WW II. Recently been interested in reading bios on obscure Presidents and have recently read books on Chester A. Arthur and Grover Cleveland. Also have three books on Teddy Roosevelt in my book pile and have started but not finished Ron Chernow's bio on Washington.

I'm from Australia and hope to be able to say hi to some of you in the near future.
Cheers.

I look forward to your posts and welcome!

In this case even though you did not mention the series books by title, I would cite them like this using our format. We ask this of all our members, in large part so other members can easily navigate to what you mention to check out the description, reviews, etc. It is easy once you get the hang of it, and I think you will reap the benefits of it as you browse the threads and participate in the discussions.
In addition, we will be starting the Atkinson trilogy as a group read later this year. You will see more information about this in the future, but it would be a great opportunity for you to participate in a discussion.

My name is Cole, I'm from the United States and in the Marine Corps serving overseas for the past few years guarding our Embassies in various countries. Finding this has been great because I'm normally out of the loop, not to mention not many 22 year old Marines are avid readers. I'm mostly interested in military history and even more so in Ancient Greek and Roman history. The beauty of reading history to me is always learning of something new, some new era or conflict I'd never heard of so it becomes something for me to discover and it's always fascinating. I look forward to all of the suggestions from this group and connecting with people from all walks of life to share our common interests and learn something new everyday.
