Help! I ran out of things to read!
Have you read the Immortals After Dark Series by Kresley Cole. They're really good. Also, Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series is really good
I think Alexa O'Brien gets better but it's very dark. Some other classic series that you should try are (I'm only listing the first book in each):
Lords of the Underworld
Elder Races
Demonica
Mark of the Vampire
Kate Daniels ****this is a MUST read
Vampires in America
Megan wrote: "No, I haven't. Do they follow the same character or is it different every book?"IAD and Midnight Breeds follow different couples in each book but you get a glimpse at past couples.
I also recommend those two.
Have you read any Shelly Laurenston/G.A. Aiken? Her series are awesome and fun. SL - Magnus Pack series The Mane Event, Pride series starts with Pack Challenge, GA - Dragon Kin series starts with Dragon Actually.

I will check out Aiken and Laurenston. Thanks!
Also Nalini Singh - two great series
- i hate the cover but thank goodness I purchased anyway - one of my top series
Favorite PNR series so far:
Dominion and
Elemental MysteriesI love these books because both are very well written with great world building. Plus, I like the old yet extremely gorgeous and powerful immortals (vampires) and the flashbacks that give great back story to these characters.
If you like the fae, you might like Dana Marie Bell's Gray Court series. Each book is a different couple, but since they're family they all show up in each book. This is definitely PNR with a lot of sexytimes and a bit of humor and violence. I'm not a huge fan of the fae, but I really enjoyed these.
Have you read the Fever series? I'm just finishing it off and while I didn't enjoy the first one (Darkfever) as much as the others, but after that they get much better. If you like Divergent and Hunger Games, you might like Enclave as well, which is post-apocalyptic.
I also liked the following:
A Great and Terrible Beauty (don't let the name fool you!)
Hex Hall was also pretty good (again, the first book was ok)
Hope that helps!

Also Demonica and Vampires in America from alisa's post.
Definitely try elemental mysteries series by Elizabeth Hunter - so so good!!!! The whole series has been released so no waiting for the next book to come out!
Is it cheeky to ask you to check out my book? From your list I think your might enjoy it, look me up if you don't mind.Other than this, I recommend The Selkie Spell and Bound by blood (K Haigwood)
Or if you fancy steering away from the paranormal for a bit I LOVE Sarra manning, especially "You don't have to say you love me." I have read it three times (and I rarely do that...)
I found that reading books outside of the paranormal for a bit was really enjoyable (although i would love to get stuck in to another Harry potter type series). Another author who I enjoy is Jojo Moyes. But if it's paranormal you like and you have a kindle I also suggest you look up the free charts every day on amazon. There is loads on there and its free!
Hope this helps
Vanessa :)
MeganThanks for asking... I did not want to seem too pushy!
It's only 98p on Amazon since it is the first of a Trilogy and I would love to have more readers. It's called HYBRID (The Evolution Trilogy)
I suggest you just type my name in the search box on Amazon... That usually brings me up!
I also have a blog for the Trilogy www.theevolutiontrilogy.blogspot.com
Anyway, enough about me...
I have just started Beautiful Creatures and so far, so good, but like you I am at times at a loss for new material! At the moment, I don't want to think, I want to escape... Does that happen to you?
I used to be a massive movie fan, and recently I've found that spending a couple of hours on a movie is less demanding than spending hours on a book! Terrible, right? My excuse is that I have 3 kids, and I am trying to finish writing the last book... Ha ha!
I really hope you find books that you enjoy,
Vanessa :) xx

Does the Dominion series have a love triangle?

Yes, there is a love triangle in the Dominion series but it's M/F (only one at a time).

I see :)
I don't really like love triangles, but I may give it a try.

Certainly don't want to talk you into reading a book you won't like; I know the Dominion series isn't for everyone. But I just wanted to be sure you knew they were never all "together" at the same time.
Megan,I have a few suggestions: Faith Hunter
Kalayna Price
Jess Haines
and Jeaniene Frost's Night Prince series
and
Steph wrote: "Here's a few i liked you could try:Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick
Die For Me series by Amy Plum
The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare
The Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie S..."
Steph,
It's a very good series and I don't read much PR anymore. Plus, Jeaniene is cool. :)
My fav so far is the Hollows series (also called the Rachel Morgan series) by Kim Harrison. I also second Ally's recommendation with the Fever Series. My second fav series.
I agree with Kate Daniels, Psy-Changeling, Vampires in America, Elder Races, Demonica, Night Huntress...I also suggest:
Immortal Guardians
Penton Legacy
New Species
Shifters Unbound
I am going to second (third?) several:Ilona Andrew's Kate Daniels series and their Edge series as well
Nalini Singh's Psy-Changling series and Guild Hunter series
Shelley Laurenston's Pride series
Karen Moning's Fever series
Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series
Kim Harrison's Hollows series
Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson series
Others:
Molly Harper's Jane Jameson series
Amanda Arista's Diaries of an Urban Panther trilogy
Have you tried Katie MacCalister's other dragon books besides Aisling Grey? Also her Dark Ones series?
Also, Molly Harper has added to the Jane Jameson universe and now has the Half Moon Hollow series. Jane and company do make the occasional appearance in this series.
The Shifters Unbound series is also really good.
Charmed and Dangerous by Candace Havens is a cute series. Actually any book by Candace. She's more into "lite" type stories, but they are usually fun.

I read Witchling and Changeling but haven't gotten Darkling yet
your list is reakky aimilar to my own of the series I read and loved...tryElemental Assassin by Jennifer Estep. the first book is called Spider's Bite. the main character is completely badass and there are 9 books in the series so far!
I think all the books are already in this list. I suggest the last book I read:
- for a clever urban fantasy which is full of action and excitement. Only the eBook is available until June when the paperback will be published. It's an unknown, indie author but I am totally going to promote this book. It was amazing!
I read up to book 7 (burned) of the house of night series and then gave up... Are the others books worth it?Thanks, Vanessa xx
Vanessa--I think you hit the end of the "good" stories with that one. At least, I wasn't able to get any further.
OM-freakin-G. I read a TON, and I can't keep up with all of these *g* Of course, I love Nalini Singh, Gena Showalter, Karen Marie Moning, Darynda Jones, Kresley Cole, Thea Harrison, Jim Butcher, Larissa Ione--I've read almost everything these authors have written. I notice a lot of these series start off slow but hook you really good and hard as they go. I think I'll catch up with Lynsay Sands and Jeaniene Frost next. Haven't read either in a long while (while I've been on a Highlander kick, lol).I wanted to throw out Jeri Smith-Ready's WVMP series, too, as a suggestion.
What about Karina Halle's Experiment in Terror series. I think the first book is free on Amazon or Smashwords -
. The series is quite addictive.
I agree with Angela's suggestion of the WVMP series. It's a different take on vamps, and is MUCH better than shiny ones. . . (Well, the shiny ones wouldn't have been too bad, if it hadn't been for Miss Downer 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 etc. Bella.)
Lol! Too funny, Ann :) Yeah, out with the emo. WVMP vampires stood out to me. The whole "stuck" in their death decade was pretty original, imo. Plus the question on the status of their souls.
I forgot to add that I have read Jane Yellowrock and the Elemental assassin.I am reading Fever Series the past few days and I read shelly Laurenston: The Magnus Pack. I agree, I liked the 3rd one! :)
Megan--you need to go on and read all of Laurenston's Pride books now. And then there are her DRAGONS that she writes about as G.A. Aiken
I recently posted the (unedited) prologue and first chapter of the YA/UF/PN book I'm finishing up, and would love some feedback from other readers. Does it capture the readers interest, make you want to read more? If any of you have time I would appreciate any input.https://www.goodreads.com/story/show/...

I know a lot of people post topics like this... So, sorry! But, I am lost! Here is a list of things I have read:
Anita Blake
Merry Gentry
Night Huntress
Chicagoland
Jessica McClain
Aisling Grey, Guardian Series
Nocturne City Series
Tales of an Urban Werewolf
Georgina Kincaid
Dark Swan
Jane True
Persephone Alcemedi
Divergent
Kitty Norville
Shifters
Black Dagger Brotherhood
Lucy Valentine
Lupi Series
Mercy Thompson
Alpha and Omega
Weather Warden
Hunger Games
Harry Potter
Betsy Taylor
Elemental Assassin
Cassie Palmer
Sookie Stackhouse
Some of my faves were the early Anita Blake, Chicagoland (because I love Ethan), I like the Faerie aspect of Merry but LKH just takes some of it TOO far with the sex making lands business, Betsy Taylor got on my nerves, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Patricia Briggs characters, BDB got repetitive and therefor boring.
I started reading Alexa O'brien and there is something that isn't so great about it in the first 5ish chapters. Does it get better?
Any Suggestions would be great!!! Thanks so much! Oh, and if you are curious about any of the series mentioned I can give you a spoiler free review! :-)
