For me too. :(
(I couldn't find a topic of that kind in the Feedback group and remember that the last time I asked I got the explanation about topics being made for a lot less posts...)

Thank you for pointing this out, Antonella. I was just going to add the link on this thread, but you beat me to it. :-) I always enjoy reading Josh interviewing other authors because he is a KIDDER. ;-)

Some of the treads don't show the recent updates, the red numbers, for me right now. Again. This happens from time to time. This week it started with the Introduce yourself thread, but it's currently happening at least with this thread and General News. Only way to know if someone posted something is to pay close attention to when the topic was last updated (small grey text)... *sigh*

And now I see that at least Hj is having the same problem.

message 1005: by Calathea (new)

Calathea | 6034 comments We did talk about it on General News (I think) yesterday. On my work PC I had no such problems today but it occured again now while I'm on my netbook... Maybe we can wait it out? (I hope it goes away without us needing to set up a ton of new topics.)

Bought it on the strength of the interview and Josh's recommendation. And KC's as well. So I know who to blame if I don't like it ;)

I think we can wait it out. This happens to me from time to time. It usually lasts a few days and the all is back to normal again.

I agree -- I was just letting Calathea know since she'd asked about it. It is a random problem, because this time the red new number *was* showing! What happened in under two hours to change it?

The only thread I am being alerted to is the Stranger on the Shore SPOILERS thread.

LOL. See, that worked! Whoever broke it got scared enough to fix it right away. :-)

Hmm... I'm actually pretty amazed we aren't broken more often... considering the conversations and partying going on here. ;-)

Yeah, we are back home. Today we rescued our dog from the Arctic Circle and the mosquitos there. Annie the dog spent a couple of weeks with hubby's parents at their summer cottage while we were away. The bunnies and the reindeers will be SO RELEIVED to notice that she's gone now. :-)

It is good to hear you are home! It was so fun to meet you and Petri and the rest of the gang. I hope we can do this again one day :)

Thank you for the "welcome backs"! It was absolutely wonderful to meet people from this group in Bristol and in London. And it was equally lovely to have the rest of you living it all with us so enthusiastically online! :-)

Anyway, hubby and I are definitely going to attend the UK Meet again next year. I think our conversation in Bristol went something like this:

me: "Oh! Did you hear that the Meet will not be held during the summertime next year, but in September?!" *frowning*
hubby: "I don't care. We'll be attending anyway."

;-)

LOL! Petri is an honorary member of the group!

Am I the only one still around? Anyway in one hour I'm taking the train to go home.

I really had a great holiday, also because of the meet. I don't know now what I'm going to do in September next year, but I strongly suspect I'll be again at the meet. Also because it would be hard to renounce to such a gathering of lovely people.

:-D That's great!

I wish I could attend, but I likely won't be able to. Not if I want to do the meet up in Seattle, which is also in September likely, I think.

Carlita Costello | 1219 comments Funny, I don't want you back at your "once upon a time" normal. It made you miserable. I'm happy for the new you, with any writing schedule that makes you happy, creative and in charge of your time and your health. Go Josh!

message 1041: by Anne (new)

Anne | 6816 comments I will have to join the chorus. I will rather have fewer and better works and you to enjoy writing for years to come, than many now, a burn-out and maybe at the end full stop. This I say as both a reader and a friend. What makes you happy, makes me happy too :)

Thank you all! I mean I do think 3 full-length novels in a year ought to be enough for any reading audience. If it's not, oh well! :-)

Idamus, I think switching off series books every other year or so makes best sense for giving stories time to percolate.

I follow some fantasy authors that release books every two to four years and sometimes they take long breaks between books (10 years or so). Three full-length novels is a treat! :)
