Luna NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! HOLLYWOOD TAKES EVERYTHING! THEY ALREADY HAVE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS WHAT MORE COULD THEY WANT!( Okay that was very Dramatic of me. Anyway I guess if they have Mortal Instrument it doesn't make sense if you don't. Plus they are trying to get kids interested so. I wish them the best of Luck,I not going to see it like Mortal Instrument. Its cause a me to be like above.)

message 3: by Cassandra (last edited Apr 13, 2013 11:02PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cassandra NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! The books should not be made into a movie!!! This is going to ruin it. I know this is very dramatic but no one can play the characters in these books!! They are just too great! So, i refuse to see these movies....I will not ruin the image of these characters in my head...It makes me so upset.

Cassandra Amber wrote: "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! HOLLYWOOD TAKES EVERYTHING! THEY ALREADY HAVE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS WHAT MORE COULD THEY WANT!( Okay that was very Dramatic of me. Anyway I guess if they have Mortal Instrument it does..."

I totally agree with u!

Erin M. Eek! That's so exciting!

Lindsey Thompson seriously does every book need to become a movie? Sometimes I just like books to stay books...

Marisa I don't know how this will work out. The Prequel thing always tanks.

message 8: by Sophie (last edited Apr 15, 2013 01:34AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sophie THAT IS GOING TO BE FREAKING AMAZING! But they have to get Will right. I'm being dead-set honest here, I think I will be heartbroken if Will doesn't act like the amazing person he is in the books :( God I hope they choose an awesome actor :/

Auhmanduh I'm actually shocked that they will turn it into a movie already. I can understand buying the rights. BUT, they don't know if TMI will be a BBH yet.

Very interesting.

Courtnay AHHHHHHH!!! :D I love this series to death and hearing that they are going to make a movie is totally exciting for me!! I am nervous to see how they make them and who will play what character cause we all have what we think the character looks like in our head! I’m stoked!! And I love Cassandra Clare!! EEEEEEPPPPP!!!

Brittney Oh God. NO. JUST. NO. WHY? CAN'T THEY LEAVE /ONE/ BOOK SERIES ALONE?! CITY OF BONES HASN'T EVEN COME OUT YET. JEEBUS.

Angela I am more worry about who is going to be Jem......

SHINY OMG! i can't believe it! This series was amazing, so
they better get the story or characters right or i'll be so sad.

message 14: by WinterRose (new)

WinterRose I just want Max Irons to be Will. That's all. lol

message 15: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Westerfield That's great news!

Sidney Lindsey wrote: "seriously does every book need to become a movie? Sometimes I just like books to stay books..."
I totally agree! :)

message 17: by Janhavi♥herondale (last edited Apr 16, 2013 02:20PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Janhavi♥herondale I guess it all depends on the success of TMI movie :)

Baylie As long as they cast well and follow the books I'm sure it will be good. TMI seems to have absolutely terrible casting and from only viewing the trailer it looks like they changed a lot too...

Shani Lindsey wrote: "seriously does every book need to become a movie? Sometimes I just like books to stay books..."

yeah because movies ruin it, every aspect, especially the characters. you cannot imitate the characters of TID, you just cant!!

I totally agree

message 23: by WinterRose (new)

WinterRose I definitely think Joshua looks like Will but he has no acting experience. That's my only issue lol.

Nurlely JAB is absolutely hot! But... unless we can count his posing act as a model as an acting skill, then JAB has zero acting experiences.

I love Max Irons, and he is a handsome actor. I don't think he is as hot as Will.

Georgia WOW IM SO EXCITED!!!!! *FANGIRLING* I REALLY HOPE ITS A GOOD MOVIE! :) AND I'M GLAD THERE MAKING IT INTO A MOVIE BECAUSE I LOVE THIS SERIES AND THE TMI SERIES!!!! :)

Bianca OMG! Imagine how Jem will turn out !?! And Will's look :D......
I just hope the director is a great, great, great, great, like really great fan of the books or maybe obsessed. Or if ever the director messes it up, he/she should prepare for my wrath * smiles devilishly *.

message 27: by Esme (new) - rated it 5 stars

Esme If this movie sucks I will actually hunt down, torture and then proceed to murder the person whose fault it is. Seriously. But i'm really REALLY really excited!

Madeleine I don't know if it's a good idea, cause Hollywood loves to ruin good books.. And I don't want to hear TEAM JEM or TEAM WILL everywhere! It just feels like it should stay as a book. I think it would be really hard to do the story justice to be honest.

message 29: by M.E. (new) - rated it 5 stars

M.E. With my experience of reading popular series and then watching Hollywood turn them into movies, I am 90% sure I will be very disappointed. It is never the same and they always take the book in a completely different direction. And casting is never done correctly (I liked Twilight until K. Stewart was picked for Bella - extremely horrible choice). I am pretty sure for the Mortal Instruments movies they picked Lily Collins to play Clary (I am not 100% on that). However, I hope they prove me wrong. When Hollywood actually does a book series right, it turns out to be totally epic!

Lindsey Thompson Madeleine wrote: "I don't know if it's a good idea, cause Hollywood loves to ruin good books.. And I don't want to hear TEAM JEM or TEAM WILL everywhere! It just feels like it should stay as a book. I think it would..."

Agreed!

monet NO THE INFERNAL DEVICES WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO PORTRAY AS A MOVIE! IT WILL JUST SEEM LIKE SOME STUPID LOVE TRIANGLE WHEN IT IS MUCH MORE AND THEY WILL NEVER GET PARABATI RIGHT AND IT WILL BE RUINED AND NOBODY WILL GET THE TESSA/WILL/JEM THING AND HOW AMAZING IT IS AND THEN EVERYONE WILL BE DOING THE TWILIGHT THING AGAIN AND DISRESPECT TID AND WILL RUIN IT WITH THE TEAM JEM/ TEAM WILL. ARGH
I just hope it never happens. End of Story.

monet I am actually planning on hunting down Stephanie Sanditz for writing the Clockwork Angel script. God, no JUST STOP!

message 33: by WinterRose (last edited Apr 17, 2013 11:29PM) (new)

WinterRose I think it's important to recognize that the movie does not equal the book, just like the book does not equal the movie. And movies can never ruin the book. The book doesn't change because of the movie.

Essentially, they are two separate works. I learned to stop comparing the movies to the books a looong time ago and it's made the movies more enjoyable for me. :)

[Though I have to admit I enjoyed THG movie more than the book. Katniss's POV and the romance about drew me to burning the book.]

Personally I didn't think the romance was handled well in the books so I'm hoping the movie does a better job. And if they want to market more to boys they will add more action stuff, like they did with Twilight. Which would make me happy because I think the books didn't explore the clockwork army as much as it could have. Focused too much on the love triangle and secondary romances.

monet Rose wrote: "I think it's important to recognize that the movie does not equal the book, just like the book does not equal the movie. And movies can never ruin the book. The book doesn't change because of the m..."

But movies almost always will change some of the plot. They might even change relationships since it's all up to them once they receive their rights. I just hope they don't get rid of or even change the Jem/Will Parabati bond one bit.

message 35: by Kate (new)

Kate Please keep them as books with the books you can understand their feelings and it goes into so much more dept than an 1-2 hour movie!!! Plus I'm sick of every book turning into movies!

Tasha WILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

monet sigh, honestly I am excited for the City of Bones movie, but what if it isn't like as good as the book? I mean, there's a chance that it isn't enough for our expectations.
guys, sorry i don't want to offend anyone, but who knows if Clockwork Angel will be ruined due to all this hollywood exposure. It is near impossible to portray the parabati relationship without the words in the book, and we mostly find out about how deep it really is due to their thoughts. *sigh*

WOW looking from that POV i get what all you guys mean....The movie could be a bad idea...and the "new" fans wont understand the parabati bond....ughhh wouldn't wanna watch that...BUT THE BOOKS ARE AMAZING :)

Jessica Crone Rose wrote: "I just want Max Irons to be Will. That's all. lol"

Max Irons..... Really.....? He doesn't strike me as a Will kinda guy... But okay, that's your opinion

"New" fans? I'm assuming you mean the ones who would judge the book by the movie or just become a fan without reading the books

I guess book/movie adaptations are kind of ruined for me after how disappointed I was with the Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief movie. I just couldn't sit through it after seeing how different it was. Guess i'm just narrow-minded...

Yeah that's what im mean by saying "new fans" :)....and dont worry you're not only the narrow minded here *cough* im one too

Well, for us book purists, we can always pass on the flick....

Loony No. I love Will and the series and all, but no.

message 44: by Nurlely (last edited Aug 26, 2013 09:04PM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Nurlely No thank you. Let TID be just the books. Look who they chose as Jace. The talented but totally not stunningly-handsome Jamie.

message 45: by Mizuki (last edited Aug 27, 2013 08:24AM) (new) - added it

Mizuki I hope it stays being only a script---every years there are a lot of scripts being penned but do you know how many of them got to be made into movies?

So hopefully no one would fund it and direct it. Then we would be spared one more bad movie.

Oh, I thought I was the only one who thought the casting was off for Jace. It was hard not to laugh when the camera showed him from behind and his leathers literally hung off his butt...this is not a fighter's butt I said to myself.

Deidre It would be WAY better as a TV show = syfy + romance and plenty of time to develop the characters and tell the story RIGHT.

message 48: by Ashley (last edited Sep 02, 2013 10:47PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ashley They better get some pretty awesome and good looking actors in these movies because if they don't get will, Tessa, and jem right I swear I will go to Hollywood myself and try to sue them.

Nurlely Pauline wrote: "Oh, I thought I was the only one who thought the casting was off for Jace. It was hard not to laugh when the camera showed him from behind and his leathers literally hung off his butt...this is not a fighter's butt I said to myself. "

Why did they show us his totally-not-tempting bottom at all? Jace should wear the leather pants as if it is his second skin and I will be drooling over such view, instead of swearing 'crap' afterward... hahahaha
I like Jamie and I think he is cute and has tried his best to play Jace. Do I think he is Jace after watching the movie? NO WAY!
