Leea | 1437 comments How is your day going? Rant away if need be... or just chat about anything.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments We can delete the comments before we go live but if you have any ideas or suggestions Regina and Kay, feel free to pipe in.

message 3: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Yes, please pipe in. We have some series threads to add. I'm so excited you ladies joined us :)

message 4: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments It's looking good to me! Maybe a young adult/new adult section would be something to consider.

message 5: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments Yes! I was totally going to add that! Thanks for the reminder! (if you think of more series to add to the YA/NA Romance let me know.)

message 6: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I love this group -- it looks great. :) Off to eat and I am going to be back to explore. Thank you ladies.

There's a ton of NA romance that's popular at the moment, just due to what I see constantly on my feed. I can add a few of the ones I know a lot of people are reading, sometime over the next few days.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments Awesome! I'm blanking, lol.

did you make a shelf for them yet? I might have to pillage yours.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 862 comments Actually, ignore my last post. I do have a NA shelf. I don't generally shelve books though (outside of my unfinished and tbr shelf) unless I've read them. So the only books on my NA shelf would be ones I've read.

message 11: by Leea, Escape Artist (last edited Apr 12, 2013 01:46PM) (new)

Leea | 1437 comments What's NA Romance?

*edit* New Adult... lol!!

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 67 comments Ha-ha! That's OK Leea, I do that all the time. I always forget what TSTL means!

message 13: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments LMAO Shera!

message 14: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments what does TSTL mean? lol! *off to hide under my rock*

message 15: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Oh now I feel silly -- I thought Shera was joking, sorry -- TSTL is too stupid to live -- usually used when talking about all those silly heroines in PNR and UF books! LOL.

message 16: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments I had to google that! Ha!

message 17: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Can I delete my post so people don't think i'm TSTL? lmao!! It's been one of those days.

I got a filling Wed and I swear i've had a headache ever since and the wind has not been helping me.

message 18: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Oh that stinks. I really really hate to get fillings.

message 19: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (last edited Apr 12, 2013 02:07PM) (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments Hahahahahaha!!! I always forget what TSTL is too, until I stare at it and think for a minute.

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Wendy F wrote: "Yes! I was totally going to add that! Thanks for the reminder! (if you think of more series to add to the YA/NA Romance let me know.)"

NA would be great. I want to read more of it. Is there going to be a thread for Fever if the series is going to continue?

message 21: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 67 comments Wendy F wrote: "Hahahahahaha!!! I always forget what TSTL is too, until I stare at it and think for a minute."

I know. I star at it and think-think-think. Then I think about how stupid I am to have already forgotten what it means and it all comes rushing back to me.

message 23: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I've been reading romance for such a long time that I always think everybody knows what TSTL means! I'll have to start spelling it out in my reviews.

message 24: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I had the DAY FROM HELL, yesterday. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong.

message 25: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments can I complain/whine briefly - how it is that I literally have no job offers for 3 months, so I accept some temporary military orders and all of the sudden, I get 2 offers in 3 days - ahhhh!! the offers are both contingent ones right now - so i'm hoping to know more next week, but super fustrating

message 26: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments Awwwww! That is crazy frustrating! I'm sorry Dee.

message 27: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments its just fustrating - I might see if I cancel the military orders - but then i'll feel guilty because the other guy who had them before me also got offered a job and had to pull out of them...lol!

message 28: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Omg I am so excited - my notifications have changed so that they have the actual message being posted and they keep coming even if I haven't visited the site. Is this a new setting for GR?

message 29: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments DG I hate those days. Did you get your iPhone?

Dee do you like any of the offers?

message 30: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments I do like the one offer and its a 3 year contract - making just over what I was making in the military - and a closer commute - the customer (big Navy) has final approval over hiring, so the offer is continent on their approval right now - so I just have to wait and cross my fingers - the 2 recruiters and the project manager I interviewed with seem to think i fit the bill

but I don't want to cancel the Navy orders yet and then have this job fall through

Dee, do you freelance? I find it always seems to be feast or famine with jobs.

message 32: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Okay, so last night the hubby did an impromptu taking me out to this cool night of swing bands. We used to do that a ton before the child was born. And it was great. Except, as I looked around the hall, I realized that I could be the mom of half of the people there. And not even in a teen mom kind of way... Sigh...

message 33: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments LOL Tellulah. Age is irrelevant, right? Just close your eyes and enjoy. :) But I do know what you mean.

Its for a government contract - since most non military positions are handled that way - and it is really hard to break into the federal gov't permanent employment system

message 35: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Dee, i'm sending you good job vibes. That's so hard. Honestly I send a little thankful prayer everyday that my hubby who's job is very closely associated with home building here in California has kept his job.

Tellulah, I bet everyone didn't think you could be there mom... haha! I can never tell how old people are, it's seriously a fault of mine.

message 36: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Has a day away from the kids with my SIL, we went shopping and bought mostly stuff for our guys... We finally get all the boys to try on their new stuff and we bought everyone the wrong size. LMAO!!! Total fail! The outlets are an hour away so guess we're all going to have to go back.

Note to self: Next time just buy stuff for yourself haha!

message 37: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Shopping is always fun...and returning items is just another reason to do more shopping!

We had a busy weekend so I had no time to read. My hub's fam was visiting from Central Cali. So, we BBQ'd all weekend and went to the city...union square, pier 39, fisherman's wharf, etc. The kids definitely had fun. I hope to get back to reading today.

D.G. Regina wrote: "DG I hate those days. Did you get your iPhone?"

It's on the mail. Supposedly it should get here next week.

message 39: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I'm soo tired of my job. I need a break of doing nothing for at least a couple of weeks. Every day is a struggle just to get here.

message 40: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I'm so saddened by what happened in Boston today. Sometimes I have no hope for humanity...

message 41: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 667 comments Me too! I'm saddened and heart broken :(

message 42: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) The Boston stuff is mind blowing - no pun intended. I guess we've been taking our safety for granted again, huh? Time to be hyper-vigilant again. So sad for all those involved...

Fighting a horrible, awful, making-me-crazy cold/bronchitis thing right now. I headed off to southern Utah to a great B&B that I love for a long weekend and ended up sick there. Thankfully 1) I know the owners really well and they took great care of me, and 2) my BFF came up Saturday and we did a couple of fun things and she helped me drive home Sunday. But my house is all sick... I should have known, right?

You KNOW I'm sick when I don't feel well enough to read... and I can only read an hour or less at a time right now. Ugh.

Thanks for creating this group!

I wish we all lived in a world where we could take our safety for granted.

Crystal Navarro (kanarenee) Not fun Leea!

I'm sitting here trying to sleep and unable to read... I am such a home body. Not ready to be off training again!
