BattyKat (prosserkat) Time frame!! Oh noes!!

I have over 400 titles that I want to clean out (since I'm only using my Kindle Cloud on this one) there's no way I can have a time frame.

Of course, you've seen my huge challenge list, so I know you understand!! ;)

If you don't start over once you get to the end, you can do this in no time at all!

Good luck everyone and thanks Jack for making this a thing in this group! ;)

I had to adapt this slightly, as I don't have a middle name, so used my first name, nor was I a member of GR in my birthday month of August, so I used the initial of that month instead :)

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1) by Stieg Larsson The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank Plays, Prose Writings And Poems by Oscar Wilde The Book Thief by Markus Zusak The Psychopath Test by Jon Ronson Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

BattyKat (prosserkat) Fun! And a great way to 'force' you to read what you've already spent $ on!! I am using ebooks I had already acquired. I am able to pick some of those already purchased for other challenges, too.

I fully plan on going back thru once I finish this first run.

message 12: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 610 comments I have to start adding some shorter books to my TBR list if I only have 6 weeks to complete this challenge. All of the ones I have put on my bookshelf for this challenge are at least 400 pages.

Dont think I will make it somehow by the end of May

message 13: by BattyKat (last edited Apr 09, 2013 07:19PM) (new)

BattyKat (prosserkat) I'm trying to read The Complete Works of Edgar Allen Poe - Volume 1 AND Lilith
right now. Talk about slow reads!!

Michelle (michellecharlotte) 6. Sort your TBR list by date added and read a book you added in your birthday month.

I have a problem with this one. I haven't added any books in my birthday month (August), so should I just skip this one and start again or pick another month? I think it's a great challenge by the way, you really can clean up your TBR list.

message 16: by Pink (new)

Pink I had that problem with August as my birthday month too, so instead I chose a book starting with A, I think do whatever works for you :)

message 17: by BattyKat (last edited Apr 15, 2013 05:20PM) (new)

BattyKat (prosserkat) There are 6 items listed but you can do as many or as little as you'd like. I am only doing 5 (my Kindle Cloud list doesn't have ratings...) and it's 'my' challenge! ;)

Kat, if you log into goodreads on the web the challenge results are there. My app doesn't give my my ratings but the full results are on the web

Probably do that for the next batch. If I ever manage to get thru Lilith and Poe. :(
Thanks for the tip!

message 21: by Liz (new)

Liz | 196 comments I love this. It takes away the hard decision of choosing which book to read next. :)

So far, I've only finished 1 of 6 so I think I've got to pick up my pace a little. Although, I was reading some other books when this challenge began, and now those are done with so I'm really ready to tackle this list.

1. Sort your TBR list alphabetically and choose the 24th book that appears.
The End of Your Life Book Club by Will Schwalbe

2. Sort your TBR list by date added and read the first book you added.
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald - next up!

3. Sort your TBR list by average rating and read a book that falls in the top 15 highest rated books.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak - 4/21/13 ✓

4. Choose your favorite number and read the book that corresponds with that number on your list.
The Passage (The Passage, #1) by Justin Cronin

5. Sort your TBR list to show all the books that start with the first letter of your middle name and choose one.
Assassination Vacation by Sarah Vowell

6. Sort your TBR list by date added and read a book you added in your birthday month.
(I had to improvise for this choice, as my birthday month is September, and I've only just joined goodreads, and therefore only have books on my list from March and April.)
A Time to Kill by John Grisham

I also don't have a book with an A, but I think I will just skip that one then.

message 23: by BattyKat (new)

BattyKat (prosserkat) @Liz, have a box of tissues handy for End of Your Life...
Fair warning.

message 24: by BattyKat (new)

BattyKat (prosserkat) DOOD. I am struggling SO hard with the last two books of this daggone challenge.

I never take this long to read a book. I'm seriously thinking to scrap it. Washing my hands. I'm out!

60% into Lilith and we're only just now officially introduced to the title character?? Really?

And Poe. I had no idea his stories were so ... blase (aayy!)
Totally affecting other books I want/need to read because I'm spending too much time on these.

AAARRGG!!!

message 25: by Pink (new)

Pink I've only managed to read 3 out of my chosen 6 books for this challenge and it ends tomorrow!

message 26: by April (new)

April (ajoys) I have finished 3 and almost done with 4th.

message 27: by Melody (new)

Melody (scarlettoad) I realize this challenge is technically over, but I like the idea of it and I'm going to take it on. I really need to start ticking some of those TBR books off my list.

1. Church Folk
2. Forgotten God: Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit
3. Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Novels and Stories, Volume I
4. Thr3e
5. Adam
6. Mercy

message 28: by April (new)
