Murder Behind the Badge: True Stories of Cops Who Kill
This Republic of Suffering by Drew Gilpin Faust. Fascinating account of all aspects of death during the Civil War from problems associated with the societal norms of "dying the good death" at home, logistics, emotional impact on USA, types of death, and memorializing the dead.

Just finished "A Stranger in the Family" by Naifeh and Smith. True story about serial abductor/rapist who was a "good son," father, and productive member of society. The story was interesting because: 1. the perspective of the book is on the impact on the perpetrator and his family 2. the work of the forensic psychologist on the case and 3. the focus on the internal descent into madness of the perpetrator. Some people may be offended by the lack of focus on the victims and the amount of focus on the mother of the perpetrator.

Has anyone read the new book about the Zodiac? it's called "The Most Dangerous Animal of All". I just finished it.I would love to hear other people's thoughts/feedback. I am convinced this guy is accurate in his theory.
Andres wrote: "I'm reading Ice Man Confessions of a mafia contract killer by Phillip Carlo. Loving it"AMAZING book. It has stayed with me throughout the years. I constantly find myself wanting to read it again. I grew up in NJ so many of the places that he talks about dumping bodies, I've been to! Creepy!
I'm currently reading Notes on a Killing: Love, Lies, and Murder in a Small New Hampshire TownI just finished reading The Most Dangerous Animal of All which was amazing. would love to hear someone else's thoughts on his theory about his biological father.

Hi, well the defense attorney was going to produce 25 bodies to avoid the death penalty. And, believe it or not, the prosecutor tuned it down. The number is probably between 25 and 100. It is believed he was a hired hit man as well. His thrill kills were for his own pleasure

Just added a new post to my crime blog, Dark Deeds. Good Cop Bad Cop In October 2002 Tacoma Police Chief David Brame gained national attention during the Beltway Sniper shootings. Brame believed the suspects, John Muhammad and John Malvo, had murdered a Tacoma, Washington, woman. Less than a year later, Tacoma Police Chief David Brame drew a different kind of attention. On April 26, 2003, as their two young children watched from a nearby car, David Brame murdered his wife, Crystal Brame.

Just finished reading A Deadly Game by Catherine Crier (a good book for anyone interested in the Scott Peterson case, however fair warning to anyone that might read it that it is pretty biased and is filled with what I found to be irritating interjections and comments by the author.) and the classic Lolita. Starting Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King now.
I am honored and humbled by the fine reviews my new book "Why We Lover Serial Killers" is receiving. See: http://www.docbonn.com/why-we-love-se...
Just started The Kennedy Detail: JFK's Secret Service Agents Break Their Silence by Gerald Blaine.
Abandoned The Historic Murder Trial of George Crawford: Charles H. Houston, the NAACP and the Case That Put All-White Southern Juries on Trial by David Bradley. Just couldn't get into it.

"Here’s Why We Love Serial Killers." See my new article at Psychology Today: http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/w...
Interesting article, Scott. However, I believe another thing that contributes to the fascination for these killers is the almost total disregard for the victims. Everyone wants to delve into the psyche of the killer. The victims are forgotten. Hence, in my books, DARK DEEDS Vol 1 and Vol 2, I do my best to give as much information as possible about the victims, many of whom are prostitutes or other "throw away" people. Not all of my cases involve serial killers, but many do. http://susanfleet.com/darkdeeds-v1.ht...

Hello. I'm pretty new to Goodreads and just joined this book club because I love reading true crime. I'm reading Murder in the Stacks: Betsy Aardsma, Penn State University, and the Murderer Who Got Away. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Just finished reading
by Greig Beck. It's not that long, a short novella or a long short story, take your pick. But it's a thrilling introduction to the characters and the series. Sort of a Special Forces X-Files.Here's my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
