Since I just joined the group, it will be a little while before I have very many added since I joined.

As of now I have read only 13 books in the group's bookshelf, but I noticed several others that were already in my "to read" list. I can't wait to find out how they are!

Brave New World - I Am Legend - The Princess Bride - Frankenstein - Watership Down - World War Z - Farenheit 451 - The Time Machine - The War of the Worlds - The Martian Chronicles - The Gunslinger - Dune - Slaughterhouse Five.

Now up to 69
...dude.
Still not counting that dreadful Dr Who book we attempted as a group.
Unfortunately we keep adding books faster than I can read them.
(Sorry about the Bill and Ted reference)

Are there discussion threads for all the past books? I tried to find one for The Graveyard, but was unsuccessful. Book is def cute, but just a wee bit too young in its target audience, perhaps, to keep my mind fixed on the tale :-p.

Yes there are. A group can only have 100 folders at a time, so we have to move discussions into one big folder for each year as time goes on. Since the group read The Graveyard Book in 2009, the place to look for the discussion threads about it is the Group Reads Discussions 2009 folder near the bottom of our discussions folders. The thread you sound most interested in reading is probably The Graveyard Book -- Strictly YA or more? but there are also other threads if you hunt around in the massive folder.
I expect there might be more discussion of previously read books now that we're running a challenge to read as many of the books on our bookshelf as you can! I'll be sure to let you know if this one comes up.

btw, I changed my mind on the wee bit too young. The later chapters were not! (chapter so long they were each almost short stories :) )

Considering I have only been in the club a few weeks, so these are all books I read before joining, then I feel pretty good about it. Plus, now I have lots of ideas for new things to read.

A game of thrones
Wizards first rule
The war of the worlds
The fellowship of the ring
The time machine
Mistborn
Gardens of the moon
The snow queen
A clash of kings
Frankenstein
The princess bride

I see a pattern with your problems Art, and while I can't fix apple, I can give you a link to the listopia list. Here it is!

It's not just my apple products, though. My Dell laptop is also incompatible with the "ideal" way I want life to be. Since encountering icons on my iPod, I want life to work with at least voice command, if not just read my mind. But, back to the 'real' world.
Thanks again,
Art

I've read 27 of the 155 books on the group bookshelf, most of those before joining Goodreads.

49/135.
I've not read them at the time of their being discussed, just happened to have chosen many of the ones on the list personally. I'm not one to read focus-group books. I just can't make myself choose something based on the decisions of others.
Some of my favorite authors are on that list, like Wolfe, LeGuin and Mieville. And some of my most-loathed, like Goodkind and Butcher.

The bad news is that if I only read 12 a year like my challenge goal, then I will asymptotically approach (i.e. never reach) 50% of the group's bookshelf. Ha. Better do 13.
The good news is that it will be easier for those of us with these lower numbers to double the number of books read!
Looking over the thread, it was fun watching Kim and Penny's progress through the year. Good work, you two!
