Abigail (oftheheavens) | 112 comments That was a really awesome post... And very, very true.

Thanks, Abigail. I thought you might be able to relate to it.

Christi (trumpetchick) | 309 comments We got the MRI results back today. I apparently have a veinous thrombosis or whatever it's called, which is like having a varicose vein in my brain. But it's nothing that demands medical attention. It's probably been there since birth, so I should be all good. The only thing is that we're taking certain precautions at the moment.

Oh no..... Does it cause you pain or something?

I've actually heard of that. It sounds like the doctors aren't too worried, which I would take as a good sign. Though, I wonder about the chances of you having more seizures. That could be a problem, I would think.

message 406: by Christi (new)

Christi (trumpetchick) | 309 comments Abigail - Nope. We were just looking for an answer as to why I had a seizure two weeks ago, and we think the dilated vein might be why it happened, but we're not quite sure.
T.C. - Yeah. He actually said that seizures can be caused by anomalies in the gray matter, but mine was actually more in the white matter. It's off in the right and kind of towards the front.

Christi (trumpetchick) | 309 comments How are you guys all doing? I haven't heard from you in a while.

Christi (trumpetchick) | 309 comments Nice. :D

message 413: by Christi (new)

Christi (trumpetchick) | 309 comments So I had this thought today. I feel like we need masculinists. I know it sounds silly, but think about it. Today, we live in a society of total feminism, something that has completely turned from trying to gain women's rights into making us exactly like men. And even then, it feels like it's taken this turn where some women basically say, "Well, if you're a man, forget you!"
I used to feel outraged whenever I'd hear some sort of story about a woman being degraded because of her gender and now it's as though everything has flip-flopped. It's as though men can't catch a break simply because they're men. I do consider myself a feminist, but for totally different reasons. Like how there are still places that pay females less than their male counterparts. And because women in Saudi Arabia aren't even allowed to drive. I feel like that's the true injustice. But today, some feminists take things to the extreme. It's as though that they can't accept that any differences they have with men, except anatomically. Some women can't even stand that (Gloria Steinem, anyone?).
This is the complete opposite of what God intended it to be. Men and women are supposed to be different. We were made to complement each other, like peanut butter and jelly. So why are we trying to hard to be exactly the same as men? Why are we trying to get them to be exactly the same as us, such as when a Swedish feminist group tried to make it illegal for men to stand while going to the bathroom?
We all need to embrace our differences. Being different is not a bad thing; it's the way God created us. That's my little thought for today - I am a proud feminist and masculinist. :)

Christi (trumpetchick) | 309 comments Hey, guys. How's everyone doing?

Hi Christi! I'm good. Crazy busy, though. VBS start tomorrow- my busiest week of the year. (I'm in charge of it.)

message 416: by Christi (new)

Christi (trumpetchick) | 309 comments Oh, goodness... 0.0 I used to volunteer at VBS before marching band started. Was it fun? Rowdy?

Pretty good. Trying to plan out a story and get over the fact that I told my crush I liked him. You?

The kids always have a lot of fun. We started doing VBSes by the group Go Fish, so the music is great! And the message is right on. Takes a lot of pressure off, as I used to create it all from scratch and just hope I heard right from God! The kids are really doing well this year, too, it seems. And on behalf of your church, THANK YOU for the times you volunteered. Volunteers are the soul of the program. :)

message 419: by Christi (new)

Christi (trumpetchick) | 309 comments Brenda - Not bad. Did he not take it well or something? :/
T.C. - Good. And thanks. :3

message 420: by Myra (new)

Myra hey hey, i'm currently on a holliday in greece, so I'm doing great! T.C.- maybe a silly question but what does VBS mean?

message 421: by [deleted user] (new)

Lucky. XD It stands for Vacation Bible School. For one week, several churches do VBS to teach kids about God. It usually goes from Monday-Friday and it has a theme. T.C. said her church did Go Fish. It's fun, but it's also pretty wild sometimes. XD

message 422: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) I helped out a couple years back at mone, was with the little kids, was working this year though, but I know the theme was collasal coaster world.

Thanks for jumping in there, Christi. Yes, it can be a crazy week. That's why I am always happy to have lots of teen helpers. They tend to have plenty of energy in the evening. ;)

message 424: by [deleted user] (new)

So you do them in the evenings, not the mornings??

message 425: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) My church does evenings too.

message 426: by T.C. (new)

T.C. Slonaker | 344 comments Mod
I would love to do mornings, but most of our volunteers work during the day. We usually have about 50 kids a night and about 20 staff helping.

message 427: by [deleted user] (new)

Ohhh, that makes sense.

message 428: by Myra (new)

Myra Thanks for explaining guys. Sometimes I feel like I know so little about the church. Now I understand, it sounds like fun!

actaually, if you dont mind me saying...i think that the only way that someone can get to hevean is to ask God for forgiveness and to beleive that he died for you and you accept him as your savior. its not that God doesnt see us worthy. he wants us all to become saved but some dont accept so when they die they have to go o hell:(

message 432: by [deleted user] (new)

just to say im a baptist not a Catholic so my beliefs may be different but they are all from the Bible. so i think they are true!

Hey, guys. I'd just like to ask that you don't start new topics unless you ask me, please. It's nothing personal - I just want to keep everything organized. :)
Anyway... how's everyone doing?

message 448: by Rachelle£ (new)

Rachelle£ Hi :)

message 449: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey, guys. I'm sorry, but again, can we please ask before starting new topics? I may start deleting topics soon. I'm just very nitpicky about the way things are organized. Sorry and thanks!
Also, I started a new folder called advertisements. Feel free to create new topics there and use it for anything - your personal sites for things like Tumblr, promotions, etc. Thanks!

message 450: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey, guys. I'm going to be deleting my account possibly sometime tomorrow, so I'm appointing T.C. as the mod now. Just giving you a heads up. :)
