T.C. would you say that all we need to do is just believe and confess nothing more?

I am a Protestant Christian. The church I have attended for the past 15 years is no-denominational. However, I grew up in a Church of the Nazerene, moved to a Baptist church, then a Pentacostal church, and then a Church of the Brethren before I got married and moved to our current church.
So basically, I'm just a Christian.

Hmm. Let me remember. CoB is a church that is known especially for
pacifism (staying completely out of war and military undertakings), they broke away from the Baptist church, being known as Anabaptists. They were the first ones to start baptizing by going completely under the water, so they were called the Dunkers. Very similar to Mennonite churches and you will often see the old order ladies walking around with the little white hats. (I had one, but I forget what it was called. I only wore it for communion).
I live in Pennsylvania, so we see the Amish, and Mennonites, and Brethren all around.
(Side note - Amish Mafia is quite an interesting show.)
(If you don't hear from me in a few hours, I'm headed to bed now. :) )

Well, we also believe in Jesus Christ (He is the actually reason why the Christian society even exists, and then branched off), and that he died to give us salvation. Everybody before Him went to a place called 'Limbo' when they died, unable to get eternal salvation or go to Hell straight off. So, when Jesus gave himself up, everybody had the ability to go to Heaven. I guess Protestants and Catholics have a pretty similar view of the way we go to Heaven.
Honestly, Abigail, I believe that's true. If you believe Jesus saved you from your sins, you are a Christian, no matter what church you go to. :)

I know this is another subject change, but I think I need to bring this up: What do you all about abortion?
I believe it's wrong. No exceptions.I might add some subjects like that to the interests folder and rename it to "interests & hot topics" or something like that. In case people want to talk about things like abortion, homosexuality, gun control - things that get a lot of attention.
:) (random subject change) What do you guys think about same sex relationships and marriages? I just couldn't image being in a relationship with another girl. It's kinda obvious that's not what God intended. (Sorry if that comes off offensive :( I'm not very good at being tactful)
That's exactly what I think! A friend of mine (a girl) supposedly has a girlfriend but I'm not sure. I don't want to be saying something and it ends up offending her, but I just can't see that relationship.
Then be careful on what you say. If something you do say does offend her then tell her how you truly feel and why you feel that way. Preach the Bible to her
I wish people didn't think Christians are trying to push their religion on others whenever they talk about God and forgiveness. Whenever I try to share, I get brushed off or shot down by some of my close friends. On the bright side, my best friends are all involved in the church, so we have a "common denominator" so to speak. (Sorry about that joke. I'm doing math homework :P)
Well that's good that you and your best friends are all involved in the church. If they are your friend then they will listen to you and not brush you off.
And I've found that my best friends never ever ever fight with me. And if we have a dispute, we always forgive each other minutes after. It's a really good feeling.

For me the attraction just seems... Wrong. Just wrong. I don't hate the misled people, just the things that they do.
Cody wrote: "Well that's good that you and your best friends are all involved in the church. If they are your friend then they will listen to you and not brush you off."That's always good. Its nice to know that you can have a dispute with your best friends and they won't turn their backs on you because of it
I know people who as soon as you don't follow them around like a lost puppy, they turn their make on you and despise you. And then they seek your company again!
I'm not exactly the nicest person though. I wish I was, but I'm not. I can be sarcastic, arrogant, annoying, unforgiving, and it's really difficult to pray and say "umm. Hey god! In a terrible person, and I really need your help"
I can sarcastic and everything you listed. Everyone has their faults. That's what makes us human. Instead of saying you are a terrible person try saying God I need your strength to do better. Your courage, wisdom, peace, comfort to do better today.

In a terrible perso..."Actually, i'm like that, but worse sometimes, but i pray/ I always ask God to help me be a better person, and to teach me love. And I pray whenever I'm scared. It really, actually works.
these days, I've been trying to pray more, because I found a scary website, got scared, and decided I need to strengthen my relationship with God.
That this knotted feeling in my stomach is finally gone. I feel I can stand taller, prouder. I don't feel so weighed down.
It's definitely what helped when I was having these anxiety attacks last month. Prayer, I believe, was the only thing that could really keep me calm.
