Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh, I read this book and the few other DH books after Ash's book. So still have the order off a little bit on the few later books.

PepperP0t | 180 comments I haven't found one that I didn't like. I've been tempted to jump ahead, but sometimes you get the little tidbits like with this one that you'll miss by jumping and then they'll be meh when you go back -- at least for me. I want constant excitement!

message 703: by Jayshia (new)

Jayshia (bookadora) | 1 comments I fell in love with SK's gift, after reading The Chronicles of Nick around the end of March 2012. I nearly died with laughter most of the time. Nick's sarcasm is hilarious, and his take on life is just infectious. Even when he's in imminent dangers he manages to hold on to his sense of humor. After reading this series I went straight to the Dark-Hunter series. With my Kindle, I'm able to burn through them pretty quickly. Each time that I finish one I am left wanting more. I've just finished Wren and Maggie's story "Unleash The Night" earlier this evening. Man their love scenes were so hot! My adrenalin is still out of control from just thinking about them. Particularly the one that was interrupted by her father's visit. Marvin was sent to his room on a fool's errand, and Wren immediately lifted her to the counter, dropped her panties and thrust right in. So erotic! Anyway, I will be starting "Dark Side of the Moon" tomorrow.

PepperP0t | 180 comments As much as i love the Dark Hunter series, I've been taking it slow, so I don't burn out on them. Good on you that you can read them back to back. My next up will be Acheron (Dark-Hunter, #15) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Actually I didn't jump ahead. I had bought all the books as they had come out at first. But I wasn't really feeling in a romancey vibe to read them at the time. It was actually some tidbits in the Dark-Hunter Companion book that got me reading them just as fast though for sure. But I've never jumped head in this series. About one of the rare few series I have been able to read from the very beginning books to now.

I just finished Acheron recently. Hope you like it, Pat ^.^. I thought the book was really good.

I'm rereading all her series (well, the ones I own) for the hundredth time while I wait for Time Untime. I started with the DH because it's the longest and I'm hoping that it'll drag out until August -- not sure how it's going to work out but I'm on Wren's book, going to start it after my shower!! I'm so excited to cuddle up with one my favorite tigards for the 10th time.

But after DH I'm going to reread BAD then the League -- I'm really hankering for some more from BAD, those men ...ugh, they make human men look good.

I have the whole DH series minus Retribution because it's not in paperback yet (the whole series is in PB and I want to keep it like that) and Time Untime -- for obvious reasons. I'm also missing Invincible and Infamous but I own all her other books. A whole shelf on my bookshelf is dedicated to her books. I'm surprised it hasn't cracked yet, lol. But I live on Amazon. They're always trying to sell me more copies of her books and it's like "I OWN that already"

But the BAD series is great. I mean, it's like DH and the League in the sense it's a bunch of good looking men with iffy pasts kicking butt. The only difference is they're all human. I would definitely check it out -- especially since Diana Love is her co-author. I find that the books that DL is part of are actually a little bit better than the new DH novels. The whole BAMF!guy thing is really happening. These guys are supposed to be heartless killers and they kind of stick with that rather then turning to smoop halfway through just because they fell in love.

Good story. Would read it again :-)

Now going to Emma Holly's Hidden Talents for second time and then right into her new release Hidden Crimes. The first was a great book, no doubt the second one will be as well :-)

Melanie Pearce (MelaniePearce) | 17 comments Just finished Night Pleasures ~ again. Sherrilyn could have double the pages to double the pleasure ;) Love it. I'm now rereading Night Embrace.I'm looking forward to the free spirit love and fight in this one.

message 724: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Double pages? You mean like Ward's books? I think I would actually hate that. Cause although I kind of like Ward's BDB books. Having chapters up to nearly 80 was so annoying. I kept spacing in and out of the story and all the sub plots choked out the main couple at times. I so didn't like that. I love SK's length. As you get a good quality story and don't get annoyed along the way or confused that quickly.

Not actually lengthing the book so much as I hated know it would come to an end before I was ready for it to. I can see your point but when have you ever drifted away from one of SK's story lines. I know I haven't and this is the second time around for me.

message 726: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I don't drift away cause it is good story format and length and quality as it. I mean sure she can flesh out most characters better here and there. But I just think if she went too far with extending it then the ending could just drag out. As I've been reading some stories like that now. The Psy-Changeling books for instance. As I feel they wrap up after a certain point but the author is still carrying on about this additional meeting over here. Or that bit of randomness over there. And it's like enough already. Kind of have to know when to wrap it up while the feelings are still good is my thing. And even with SK's stories being so short I can always go back and skim my fave parts.

message 733: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Just finished Dead after Dark (incl. Fury's story) and before that Devil may Cry (WOW). Before that I had the 3rd Nick book. I do not have any chronological order because these books stand alone by themselves but it does help if you know some of the characters. But as it usually is with series, one stumbles over one in the middle of it and then works oneself through the rest of them. I noticed that I do tend to get the same ones again and again.

Wasn't Fury a sweetheart? As a secondary character in Night Play (Bridge and Vane's story) he was so funny, and I was so hoping he'd get his own book. I was a little disappointed that he only got a novella, but I still like it. So you finished Devil May Cry? Wasn't it one of the best? I've always thought so. (Acheron, Dance with the Devil, Bad Moon Rising, Night Play and Devil May Cry are my top 5, in that order). Sin was just yummy.

I'm not reading anything SK at the moment. I've read all the DH books. The only things left I have of hers to read is Born of Silence and the last two CON books. I'm going on a short 5 day holiday starting this Sunday, and plan on reading BOS then. I want to give it the attention it deserves. YAY Darling!!

Sarah ♥ dog crazy ♥ (mylheage) | 359 comments Fury is one of my faves but I didn't like his story. I hate Lia and wanted her to die!

Devil May Cry is among my fave DH books. It's soooo good!

Oh, I like those little novellas. It is ok, that some of the characters don't get their own books as timewise it would probably cross with other events and then SK would really have to work hard to get everything right as most of her readers are very keen and observant and would find any mistake in a heartbeat.
I read BOS in a one night sitting and get your tissues close, I was crying my heart out. I did not like his sig O at all. Now I understand why some of you have such strong feelings against some of the leading ladies.

message 738: by Robbie (new)

Robbie Thornton (buttonbrite) | 36 comments Manuela,
I read an interview with SK and the interviewer asked her if she had ever been surprised by the popularity of a secondary character and she said "Yeah, Fury". She said she just couldn't believe the strong favorable reaction she got from fans when it came to him. He's definitely a fave character of mine.

I will admit I started BOS a couple of weeks ago, got to about the 3rd chapter, saw the way things were heading and decided to put off reading it until this little holiday. Emotionally draining books don't sit well with me when I'm distracted by work and life in general. I want to have the time to absorb it without breaking down in front of anyone. Well, hubby is ok since he already knows I'm a little weird, but no one else needs to know.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It will be a sob story, so better lock yourself in the bedroom with a solid supply of tissues and read your heart out. It will bleed. And when you are done and have recovered, let me know what you think. I loved it, I hated it, I fell in love with Darling.

Fury does look like Vane, doesn't he? I have read Vanes book twice but then I was always so engrossed in their relationship and I tend to mix him (Fury) up with Fang. I know it is stupid but I am probably different to all the other SK fans, lol. I usually get caught in the scene where he (Vane) walks into her store and then makes love to her in the changing room. So everything else evaporates into the background.

I feel the same way it felt like fury's (novella cause it wasnt a book) was thrown together to meet a deadline. I didn't feel any connection with him and his HEA and I really like him. Oh well maybe we will get a Kattslakis Christmas novella with somwthing a little more interesting.

Since I didn't like Vane's story (can't stand Bride) I had enough time to focus on Fury. LOL

But hasn't Vane brownish hair? Fury has white-blonde hair and turquoise eyes.

I'll let you know what I think of BOS. We're leaving Sunday morning, heading to Bendigo for a few days. I'll probably first finish whatever I'm reading when we leave, then I'll get on it. We'll be back Friday, so even though it's a fairly longish book, I should have time to finish.

After reading Vane and Bride's book, I got Fury and Fang mixed up too. But after reading Fang's book, Bad Moon Rising, I never ever got them mixed up again. BMR rocked! and so did Fang.

Give it a try Louise, it is not much sci-fi there, apart from the space ships and different planets. It is more the relationships between the heros and their Sig Os, between the heros themselves and the bad history they share. Very emotional, very raw and brutal, very, very sexy.
