That must have been quite a scare Lisa! All the best to your dad.

Oh, Lisa, that's horrible, I'm so sorry.Well, I'm having a difficult weekend. I occasionally suffer from panic attacks. I have a lot of things I wanted to do this weekend, but am having a hard time leaving the house. I hate it when this happens! I'm just trying to give myself one task to do at a time, and then hiding in some comic books until it passes. I doubt I'll make it to book club, though.
Lynda, sorry to hear that. Hopefully you will be able to lose yourself in your comics. I always find reading is a great way to relax and escape.
Thanks everyone!Lynda, sorry to hear you are having a difficult time at the moment. Try and relax as much as you possibly can and hopefully you will be out and about again soon.
Sorry to hear that you're not feeling great, Lynda. I find diversion is a great strategy. So lose yourself in the comic books, and feel better soon.
Oh, Lisa, I'm so sorry! I hope he gets better soon!Lynda, I agree with the ladies here, rest and relax. I hope you feel better tomorrow.
Thanks, everyone. After posting here, I just took off all the pressure I was putting on myself to get up and out of the house. Instead, I gave myself a task to do, and then read for 20 minutes. In the end it worked, the anxiety passed, I took a shower, and then headed to get groceries. I appreciate everyone listening to me complain a little bit.
Lisa, so sorry to hear about your dad! ugh, I hope he heals quickly.Lynda, I'm so sorry to hear about your attacks. They are not easy to deal, glad it passed.
Glad you're feeling better Lynda.Hope your Dad is feeling okay Lisa. My Dad did the same thing when i was 12. I was eating lunch, looking out the window and Dad fell off the ladder/roof directly in front of me on to the concrete tiled path. I think my response was "MUUUUUUUUUMMMMM!!"
He broke his arm and his lowest two vertebrae. And was up the ladder the next day as he couldn't/wouldn't ever leave a job half done... so make sure yours doesn't do something equally as stupid ;)
This weekend seems to have been a bit eventful for many of us!@Lisa - wishing your father a speedy recovery.
@Lynda - good to hear you are feeling better. Reading has helped me out of many a hole! Unfortunately it's not going to help with my lack of bathroom...

@Lisa, hope your dad has a speedy recovery.@Lynda, I can relate to the panic attacks. I'm glad to you were able to start feeling better yesterday. I also find reading to be a big help, as long as it isn't something that is also nerve-wracking!
@Sarah, I second what Rusalka said! LOL
Hope the healing goes faster Lisa .. Glad nothing worse happened ..~
Busy week .. I have to draw for an unexpected up coming gallery and start reading for my challenges and I just need a little more time ! I hope this month goes as slow as possible so I could do everything !
Yay! The working day is finally done and I am catching-up on Goodreads and then hope to sit down with my book for a nice relaxing evening. Let's see...
Lynda, I have GAD, so I can relate to not wanting to leave the house. (Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I also have mild agoraphobia and used to not leave the house for months.) Glad you were able to get out and do stuff. I'm getting ready to go play bingo. (I don't get as nervous about leaving the house when I don't have to drive and am not alone.) Wish me luck! Haven't won in a while, but my husband won $200 last week between bingo and slots.
Good luck with the Bingo Bella!
Good that you're feeling better Lynda.Did you win anything Bella?
Work has been pretty stressful lately. I had so many things to do which all didn't get finished and new things came up and I started to feel a bit overwhelmed and out of control. Yesterday and today I managed to get some major things done and I was able to cross off half of my to do list, and I feel so much more relaxed now.

I won $50. Very happy, even though it's not the $133,000 or the $18,000 of two of the games. I was going to buy the kids cupcakes, but it was raining so hard I just wanted to go buy bunny food and chicken feet and go home.
One of the many squirrels that live around my office has found its way into the attic. It has apparently set up a dance studio directly above my desk! I'm imaging there must be a company talent show coming up for the squirrels and this one is going to be doing a breakdancing routine. http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/a2c7...
Janice wrote: "Put on some tunes and hopefully it will dance in step with the music. LOL!"I should try that! They put a live trap in the ceiling this morning so hopefully we can capture the little stinker. Of course that isn't going to do very much good if they don't seal up wherever the squirrels are coming in at.
Love the squirrel. We've seen a couple doing some amazing things. One climbed down a tree trunk head first right down to the water line of the canal for a drink and he stayed there quite a while just spread eagled on the trunk. Then there was another one which was on a tree branch and it caught hold of a berry off the tree with its hands and let go of the branch it was on and it just hung there in the tree by it's back legs while it munched on the berries. I've never seen squirrels do either of these things before. They are like ninjas!
Where did you order that?! That is my daughter's favorite movie. We got an original theater poster for it framed and it's displayed in our den!
Cool Sarah!I just watched an episode of Criminal Minds (well, bf watched it and I looked away half the time) which ended with a Patrick Rothfuss quote and his name. That was really unexpected but also very cool. It was:
"There are times when the mind is dealt such a blow that it hides itself in insanity. There are times when reality is nothing but pain, and to escape that pain the mind must leave reality behind."
Kandice wrote: "Where did you order that?! That is my daughter's favorite movie. They are limited edition - https://viralstyle.com/tdesign/limite... There have been a few others too - christmas jumpers etc.
That is cool Peggy! Talking of Patrick Rothfuss - I see he has a TV series, film and computer game deal on the cards for the Kingkiller Chronicles. Exciting. Let's just hope it doesn't sidetrack him from finishing the next book like Game of Thrones has with George R R Martin.
Sarah wrote: "So exited! I've just ordered this t-shirt I love The Labyrinth!"OMG, totally fangirling over here! I'm sending the link to my husband for Christmas gift ideas! He will have absolutely no understanding of what it is about, but he knows he married a nerd so its okay. :) LOL
That's what I was like KimeyDiann. It's a firm favourite of mine, especially as the girl shares the same name as me. Oh and you gotta love a bit of Bowie in spandex ;-) I'm not sure Peggy about the film but I can see it working as a series. There is just way too much going on in those books to condense it down in to just 1 movie.
Sarah wrote: "So exited! I've just ordered this t-shirt I love The Labyrinth!"OMG. Sarah, you just don't know. I'm a certified glam-glitter-girl, and Bowie is my god. Full on sent this to everyone who knows me, that this is what they need to get me for my birthday next month!
I'm glad to be surrounded by some Labyrinth / Bowie lovers. The tshirts seem to be available for a set amount of days - I think they do a print run when a certain amount of people order. I ordered mine on the 1st but it hasn't been printed or sent yet so I'm guessing it might take a while. Plus I'm in the UK. I think I might need to watch the film again soon as it's been a while (I got rid of my vhs copy when we moved on to the boat).
Sarah wrote: "So exited! I've just ordered this t-shirt I love The Labyrinth!"SOOOO buying one. And don't forget the codpiece!
Labyrinth is one of my favorite 80's movies. I've always wanted to watch it with my kids, but was afraid they'd hate it and make me sad. (My oldest son loathed The Princess Bride and listening to his commentary broke my heart.)
I took a long nap yesterday, but my husband woke me up a little after 6p because he wanted to go to bingo. We were already running late and he realized he forgot his phone, so we missed the 7pm session. So, I'm relaxing, and he decides he wants to go to the 9pm session. I didn't want to go, but went anyway. I don't know why, but we went to a different casino from the one we normally go to on Wednesdays. Anyway, they have a think called a cashball, where if you win on a certain number, you get a special jackpot. So, I won $1298- $50 for the game, $1248 for the cashball.
Peggy wrote: "Oh wow Bella! Congrats :D"Thanks. I think everyone can guess what I'm going to buy with some of the money.
Congrats, Bella! I bet you return to that casino next week to see if your good luck holds. I'm not sure I've ever been to a casino that has bingo. There are tons of bingo halls near where I live though. Gambling isn't allowed where I live except on the water in certain counties or on reservation owned land, but somehow the bingo halls work around that law by being "not-for-profit" or "charitable" organizations. I've never quite understood how that works.
Sarah wrote: "Congratulations Bella. Are you going to splurge out on some books?"Yes!!! But I'm debating whether to go for a big splurge or to put aside the money and use it to buy my UK/AU import books. I'm eyeing up Cloudwish by Fiona Wood right now.

I like bingo because you only lose a set amount of money. To win that jackpot, I spent $10. It's actually cheaper than the movies, when you budget in popcorn and soda. (And you get 2 free drinks per person.) Where we go, you can spend as little as $4 if you don't buy into the progressive jackpot games.
