Grant (ghizzle) | 8 comments I just picked up The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway and should finish it on my second sitting. It reads so smooth and quick. So I was wondering, what other books on the list are able to be read in a day or two? I've been struggling with some thicker books, so my goal of 100 books read this year is falling more and more behind. It doesn't help that I've picked up a bigger book that isn't on the list.

Anyway...recommendations?

Grant (ghizzle) | 8 comments Thought I would also add The Great Gatsby. I was able to breeze through that book. Took about 4 hours I think.

Liz Is Alice and Wonderland on that list? Its a super quick read.

Elizabeth (Alaska) The Yellow Wallpaper
Silk

are both less than 100 pages. I haven't yet read either of them.

Liz M There are a lot of list books (and a couple of threads about)that are less than 200 pages. But how fast they read depends on the reader I expect:

I read Silk last year, and can attest it is a good read, and it is fast. It is beautifully written. I really enjoyed it.

Karena (karenafagan) I read The Color Purple in one sitting, about 3 hours. I found it hard to put down.

That would not be so for me. I can't possibly read 100 pages an hour, and never was able to do so.

Oops, that was 5 hours. I hit the wrong key. I started it when I put my boys to bed at 7 and finished around midnight.

Karen | 19 comments These probably require two or three sittings to read. I like to ponder a book rather than rush through it. Most of these are under 250 pages and not too heavy philosophically or with unusual literary style (which always slows me down).
