Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1635 comments One of my friends from the Georgette Heyer group just posted that GHs books are on sale in the kindle store at Amzn for $1.99!

This is tremendous bec her titles usually cost $10!

That's awesome! Thanks, Andrea! I should read a GH book soon. :)

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1635 comments Earls Just Want to Have Fun by Shana Galen is free at AMZN in the US.

I've never tried this author, but the title is hilarious

Tiffany Day | 11 comments Ladies,

I am looking for new releases of the Christmas/Winter variety - not a collection of short stories. All I seem able to find this year are modern tales a la Macomber (snore) and collections. Any suggestions? (I'm willing to hear your advice on older books, but ive read a lot of them.)

message 114: by Daniella (new)

Daniella | 23 comments Hi Tiffany!

Yeah, it's actually hard to find new Christmas/winter-themed releases since they're usually anthologies.

But you can check out Miss Featherton's Christmas Prince (The Marriage Game, #8) by Ella Quinn . I haven't read that yet, though, so I can't vouch for it.

There's also One Wild Winter's Eve (Honeycote, #4) by Anne Barton . The focus really isn't on Christmas, but it has a winter setting :)

message 115: by Daniella (last edited Nov 15, 2015 09:28PM) (new)

Daniella | 23 comments Oh, there's also The Scandal Before Christmas (The Reckless Brides, #3.5) by Elizabeth Essex and Season for Desire (Holiday Pleasures, #4) by Theresa Romain but they're not really new releases.

You can check this list: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/9...

message 116: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Day | 11 comments Thanks for the idea. I've given 2 a try in the Romain series and DNF either. I was able to find the first you mentioned at the library.

Usually, there are quite a few seasonal novels alongside the anthologies, but they seem to have dropped off this year. :\

Daniella | 23 comments Hi guys! Would any of you happen to know some good "friends to lovers" HR books?

This trope is rare in HR. But here are some that I've read:

Just Like Heaven (Smythe-Smith Quartet, #1) by Julia Quinn Seduce Me at Sunrise (The Hathaways, #2) by Lisa Kleypas The Countess Conspiracy (Brothers Sinister, #3) by Courtney Milan The Highwayman (Victorian Rebels #1) by Kerrigan Byrne

I would just like to ask... I'm running an all-indie romance book review blog and I would like to know if anyone from the group would be willing to be a contributing reviewer?

This is the link to the blog: https://khbookreviews.wordpress.com/

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1635 comments Hi all,

I just learned via another group that LKleypas' Hathaway family series books are bundled for $9.99 at US kindle AMZN store.

In addition, the person who posted this info, says this bundle is marked down in other countries' kindle store too!

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1635 comments Gentle Warrior Gentle Warrior by Julie Garwood a Medieval by Julie Garwood is $1.99 at Amzn.com.

message 130: by Andrea AKA Catsos Person (last edited Apr 13, 2016 09:14PM) (new)

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1635 comments I've had five four 5-star HR reads since start of the year.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 303 comments Good question Kat. I just checked my shelves - no 5 stars this year but a few worthy four stars... Bound by Your Touch by Meredith Duran and Once Upon a Marquess (The Worth Saga #1) by Courtney Milan

Priya (priyachennareddy) | 1544 comments No 5-stars so far. Have two 4 stars - Saving Grace and The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1635 comments Kat, I'm sorry I didn't post the titles.

While I was posting to your question, it was after midnight in my part of the world and I was struggling with one of my endless bouts of insomnia! My brain wasn't at full capacity!

These two books were reccoed to me by two ladies on my GR flist, and boy am I glad that they did. I was just over the moon about these two books :

1) Western or Americana? : Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold (Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold, #1) by Ellen O'Connell by Ellen O'Connell

2) Medieval: Tabor's Trinket Tabor's Trinket by Janet Lane by Janet Lane.

I hope you like them.

I'm very late in finding this, but The Viscount Risks It All (Prelude to a Kiss, #4) by Erin Knightley was a beautiful friends to lovers story.

message 144: by Diana (new)

Diana | 2 comments Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a good historical romance read that is funny. I love a witty heroine and funny banter between the hero and heroine. Can you recommend any? One example I can think of is "The Bride" by Julie Garwood. Anything you can recommend would be great!

message 145: by Andrea AKA Catsos Person (last edited Jun 08, 2016 05:36PM) (new)

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1635 comments Diana, Black Sheep by the great Georgette Heyer has great banter between the hero/heroine.

This is one of my favorites of her romances.

message 146: by Katariina (new)

Katariina (katariinao) | 37 comments Diane, I am currently reading Dukes Prefer Blondes (The Dressmakers, #4) by Loretta Chase and I would recommend that.

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1635 comments I've seen the movie "Love & Friendship."

I really liked it!

I'm really glad that I spent part of Thursday and Friday reading the 85 pgs novella.

Some things were more obvious in the novella that wasn't captured on film, but still the movie was well-done.

Oh, I'm so jealous! They still haven't added a release date for Germany. Well, Imdb has it listed as to be released sometime late in June, but on the websites of local cinemas it gets no search hits whatsoever :( And it looks so promising. I love that Stephen Fry is in this!

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1635 comments Andrea,

Do go and see it when it becomes available.

It's a really beautiful film!
