I've never read the books or seen the show, but I'm definitely intrigued. It looks like the books were written over a hundred years ago. Is the writing dated, or is it timeless?

Lauren, I thought the same... I was looking for the previous series adaptation, and "The serial was based on the novels and interludes of John Galsworthy's series The Forsyte Saga (for which he won a Nobel Prize in 1932)." I didn't know, maybe it's more timeless, being a classic that won the Nobel Prize. A lack in my classics TBR!
