Think and Who cares
Ari looked over at Nix as he walked back into the apartment after she did. She sat down at the table as she watcher her older sister who was just staring at the wall as she sat in the living room chair. Ali looked up hearing Nix's voice and then looking at Ash as he left the small place that she had been so happy in with Nix
Nix shoved off the couch and walked around a little. Honestly feeling like he was caged. Nix wasn't going to just leave, he would stay until everything had been figured out. He couldn't stop thinking about what Ari had told him. Did Ali really believe in that myth? Did he? It's exactly what happened when he was around Ari.
Alissa watched as Nix paced around the apartment like he was going to start pounding on the walls. She wished for the life of her that she didn't let Ash in the apartment or let him kiss her or felt the way she did towards him. She glanced over at Arielle and saw that her little sister was watching Nix. She frowned a little bit but didn't want to ask what she was thinking right then in front of Phoenix. Arielle sighed softly not seeing Alissa staring at her as her eyes followed Nix around the room. She almost said something to him twice but she stopped herself. Finally Alissa spoke up. "Nix maybe you should go for a run." She said softly
Nix stopped pacing, his eyes taking across the room. He looked at everything, studying it all for a brief second before moving onto something new. He looked up at Ali when he spoke, his eyes almost our silver. He was close to shifting. So he had her permission. Nix nodded and was out the door in seconds, jogging to a nearby park that was at the beginning of a forest. He went into the dark forest, weaving through the trees. When he was in deep enough, he let out out and shifted with a growl.
Alissa watched as Nix looked at her with his silvery eyes and knew she was right about him needing to just run. He only ever did that when he was upset and just now he was very upset with her. She watched as he was out the door in second and then looked over at her sister. " I've skewed up big time haven't i?" She asked dropping her head into her hands. Arielle looked at her," Are you kidding?" She asked. "Yes you have I've never known you to do anything like that and here you are."
Ali nodded," I know what am I going to do?"
Nix finished shifting and stretched before running around the forest, letting out his anger. The forest was the center of every sense. His problems quickly eased from his mind and so did his anger. Nix ran for a while before slowly stopping s shifting back. He sat in his human form in the forest, resting his head on his hands.
Alissa cried a little hit as she explained to her sister what was going through her head. "I don't know what to do now." She cried. "Do I stay with Nix even though in pretty sure my real mate is Ash or do I leave Nix?" She asked Arielle shrugged," I don't know what to tell you Ali... I just don't know but maybe you should tell Nix"
Nix braced his hands on the ground, his fingers digging into the dirt and getting into he nails. He had just wanted a happy life. Sure, he knew they would fight sometimes but he hadn't expected this. Nix had never thought she would d something like this. He's thought they had been happy together or had she been lying to him?
Arielle and Alissa talked a while longer as Ali just cried wanting to know what to do and Ari couldn't help her with that because she just didn't know what she would do in that situation. Ari wished Nix would come back so they could talk and she didn't have to deal wif her sobbing sister
Nix finally got up and started towards the house again. He took his time though. Nix reached their apartment and could hear Ali's crying from the stairs. He went inside and wanted to leave again at the scene.
Arielle was just sitting next to Ali patting her back. "Calm down Ali." She said softly. "We will figure things out just calm down." She said and continued to say.Ali just continued to cry but did calm down a little bit. She didn't notice when Nix came in but Ari did as she was still just letting her sister hug her tightly
Nix closed the front door and went to the dining part of the room, sitting at the table. He wasn't going to try and talk to Ali while she was in the state. He just wasn't going to. Nix ran a hand through his hair and then let it fall to the table, sliding his palm across the cool polished wood of it.
Alissa slowly stopped crying much to the relief of her younger sister. Arielle didn't know what to do with her over dramatic and princess like sister. "Come on Ali just don't cry anymore please?" She asked looking at her
Phoenix honestly couldn't help but feel betrayed. He sighed softly, staring at the wood and tracing its rings with his eyes. The silence in the room after Ali's crying fest had stopped was deafening in his ears. Phoenix looked over at them, studying his finance's face.
Alissa struggled not to start crying again. She wasn't strong like her sister was now she often was too emotional about things and all of her emotions showed on her face no matter how hard she tried to hide it. She glanced at Phoenix for a second before looking away feeling embarrassed and heartbroken and a whole slew of other things she couldn't name. She was mostly just disgusted with herself at what she had done
Phoenix clenched his jaw and looked away again. He loved Ali and she loved him. That's what he thought at least. So why did she throw herself at his best friend? Phoenix's nose flared in anger and let his mind drift, his sense switching to his wolf ones. He could hear both woman's heartbeat and their breathing. Phoenix could smell them and could easily tell you who was who. Ali smelled like roses and oranges, an odd combination he enjoyed. Ari smelled like lilacs and vanilla, something he found enticing.
Alissa looked back over at her little sister. She sighed softly and leaned back in her chair keeping her eyes shut and not saying another word. She felt awful about what had just happened and didn't want to think about it anymore. She could hear Phoenix in the other room and she wanted to say something but she didn't know what to say to him to make everything right again
As Phoenix sat there, there was one thing that he really wanted to know from Alissa. He stood from his seat and took the ten steps required to be in the living room with the girls. Nix looked at both of them alternately before his eyes settled on Ali. "Ali..." he said to gain her attention. "I have one question that I want you to answer honestly. Are you in love with Ash?" he asked, his chest squeezing because he had to ask that question.
Arielle glanced over at Phoenix hearing him get up before actually seeing him. She stayed quiet however and just waited for Alissa to answer him. Alissa had had her eyes shut for a little while until she heard her name. She then looked at Nix for a second before answering," I don't know Phoenix." She answered miserably.
Arielle frowned slightly but still said nothing this wasn't something she wanted to be in but she figured she would end up getting pulled into it sometime.
At that point, Phoenix was almost sure she was. It hurt him to know she wanted someone else. Nix had thought it was them, that they were meant to be and he loved her so much. Phoenix looked around the room, at the place that he lived with her. Why him? Why must it be his heart that was tortured? Nix had been so sure that she was his mate, his one and only. Now, he wasn't so sure anymore.
Alissa looked at him for a little while and then looked away knowing that she was the cause of that heartbroken look on his face. She didn't know what else to do other than to try and fix everything but she didn't know where to start or how to fix it. She sighed softly and looked over at her sister Arielle looked back at her sister and shook her head a little bit, not knowing what else to do. She then looked at Nix for a second feeling bad that all of my this was happening now of all the times to happen
Phoenix didn't know what to do with himself. He didn't know where to go, what to do. Nix was lost. Everything he had looked forward to had disappeared in a matter of seconds. Phoenix shoved a hand through his hair and shook his head. He turned and left the room quickly, going to their bedroom. Phoenix sat on the edge of the unmade bed and stared down at the floor. What were they going to do? The wedding was only a few months away.
((I had an idea. What if Ali spilt up with Nix before he realized Ari was his mate and one night, Nix and Ari got drunk or something and slept together? And when they woke up they had matching marks on them that only appear when they do It with their true mate?))
((I really like that idea.. We can do that)) Ali and Ari both watched Nix walk down the hall. Ari looked back at her sister," Well now what?" She asked. Ali sighed softly and got up," I don't know but I know I'm probably not going to be staying here." She said softly
((Alrighty. Whenever you want to.I don't know what to do.))
((Okay. Can you start? I did the last one.))
((Yeah)) It had only been a few weeks but Alissa had moved out of the apartment that she had shared with Phoenix because she couldn't handle what she had done to him. Every once in a while she would see Ash but she was still very confused over a lot of what had happened.
Arielle didn't go home just yet wanting to stay with her older sister. She looked at the apartment door and the knocked slightly. "Nix?" She called knowing if he was home he would hear her. Ali had wanted her to pick something up and didn't want to go to see Phoenix herself
((Do we want to make it into doubles with Ash and Ali or no? It's just a suggestion. We don't have to.)) Phoenix hadn't really been coping well since Ali had left. He still loved her but what she had done had hurt him too much. Phoenix had to be the one to tell both of their families that they were canceling the wedding and wouldn't be getting married. Now, Phoenix sat on his couch with a long neck beer in his hand. He had heard Ari walking up to the door but didn't want to get up. "Come in." he called then tipped back his beer, taking a large swig from it.
((We can.. I do kind of want to see how all of them play out)) Ari frowned a little bit and pushed open the door. She looked around the small place where she had seen her older sister and Nix be so happy but now it just seemed to show how much Phoenix was hurting. " I just needed to get something for Ali." She muttered walking into the bedroom to get what Ali had wanted. Once she did she walked back out into the living room and looked at Phoenix," Have you even moved?" She asked
Phoenix shook his head. "What the hell am I supposed to do? Last time I tried to leave this place I lost it and went were for two days before waking up in the middle of the woods." he said to her, finally looking over at her. Nix's eyes were glazed, as sign he had been drinking for a while. But alcohol didn't make him unsteady or anything like that, it just gave him an even worse temper.
Arielle frowned as she stared at him," fine stay like that, but people are beginning to wonder if you've run off and become some lone wolf." She answered," I mean I know where you are, but you at least have to look like you care about your pack for like half a second." Ari told him not really caring that he was feeling sorry for himself. Yes she felt bad for him but he didn't need to yell at her
Phoenix growled softly. Funny thing was, at that moment, he didn't care about his pack. He threw his beer bottle against the wall and closed his eyes as it shattered. "I don't think you understand. I've had the one thing that I thought would be consistent for me, just ripped away. So many things I had been looking forward to with your sister. Now it's all gone. You take a walk in my shoes and feel my pain before getting about about my pack." he told her. Simultaneously, as he was incredibly angry with her, he felt so attracted to her.
Arielle laughed bitterly," you think I don't know what you are going through?" She asked," At least you know that Ali is alive." She told him," I had to watch my father and older brother die." Ari said not caring that Ali had not told him how they had become sisters. "Why do you think I look so different than Ali?" She asked," Why I'm not also so happy and princess like? Did you ever stop to consider the fact that you aren't the only one who has had something awful happen to them?" Right then she didn't want to feel sorry for him at all. She was mad that he didn't seem to care about himself or his pack
Phoenix hadn't known that but he didn't feel sorry at that moment. He was tired of her going at him about this. If he wanted to ignore the world and wallow in his own self pity, then let him be. "I know I'm not the only one. But right now, I don't give a damn." he said, going over to stand right in front of her. His dark blue eyes lightened to become his wolf's silver and he shivered as he suppressed the urge to shift.
Arielle looked up at him as her own blue eyes flashed," Guess what? Maybe you should give a damn.. Your apartment looks like a 5 year old lives here." She retorted. "You smell like all you've been doing is drinking and I'm pretty sure that's what you have been doing."
Phoenix chuckled dryly. "Yes, that is what I have been doing. Now, if you have finished your business here, you should probably get going." he said to her, his eyes finally dimming back to their normal color. As the urge to shift passed, he felt exhausted. Nix's shoulders slumped and he turned away from Ari, running his hand through his hair.
Ari shook her head a little bit," That is ridiculous you should at least go out for a little while and at least see the sun." She told him heading for the door. "I'm going out tonight because I can't stand looking at the wall anymore... So you can come with me if you would like to." She said as she opened the door
Phoenix shook his head silently then turned around to look at her again. "Where are you going?" he asked her, a little curious. Honestly, Nix felt lost and lonely and he hid that behind his anger. Phoenix didn't know what it was he needed, but he needed something to get past all this.
Ari shrugged a little bit turning to look at him," I'm not sure probably somewhere to eat then wherever I feel like." She replied looking at him for a second.." You know where I'm staying if you want to come. I'm leaving around 6:30."
Phoenix nodded and was silent as he let her leave. He watched her before she disappeared behind his door then drug a hand through his hair, looking at everything around him. Despite the fact it has pissed him off so much, Ari's little rant at him made him want to clean himself up.
Arielle looked at him once more before she walked out the door and to her car. She sighed softly not knowing why she had just told him what happened to make her and Alissa sisters. She just wanted to get Phoenix to care about something but at the same time she wanted to leave him in his own pathetic pity party.
Phoenix began to clean up his apartment. He might as well get out into the world again. And if he can't handle it, he'll just come back and hide some more. Phoenix found it hard to care sometimes if the world missed him.
Arielle looked at the time and didn't really care where her older sister was. Though mostly she thought Alissa was with Ash and his daughter as that had been the norm from a few weeks ago. Ari walked to the small closet she had some of her clothes in and pulled out a black and white dress that fell to just above her knees. She went to the bathroom and put her hair up into a nice ponytail and lightly put on some makeup. She looked at the dress again and sighed softly before going out of the bathroom and to the kitchen to get a drink
Phoenix spent the next few hours cleaning up the apartment and then himself. He took a shower and brushed his teeth, putting on fresh clothes. Once out and ready for the evening. Phoenix shoved a hand through his hair as he looked around the apartment. Now it looked pretty much like it had before Ali had moved out. Except some things were missing, things that she had taken with her.
Arielle looked at the time and then went to finish getting dressed. She sighed softly and went to great her keys and her purse. Ari honestly didn't know why she was even going out it wasn't like it would change anything
Ash looked back at Nix, honestly a little nervous. When Nix told him to go, he nodded. Ash stood and glanced at Ali before walking out of the apartment.
