Phoenix kept on it and then stopped after a few minutes. He held her close in the silence that had descended over them. Nix started thinking about Arielle. He had never met her before but from what Alissa had told him, she was the opposite of her. Shorter, blonder, paler.

Alissa had almost gone to sleep all snuggled against him. She sighed softly and hoped that even after everything that had gone on in their family Arielle and her could get along for a few days
Nix wrapped his arms tightly around her, holding her close. His mind started to wander as to what they would do if they kids but he knew he was getting a little ahead of himself.
Alissa sighed softly and stayed snuggled against him as she slept. She was exhausted from all of the stress of planning their wedding and acting as a go between for her father talking with her future father in law. She held on to his shirt collar as she slept
Nix let her sleep on him, never really moving. Which he had no problem with. Phoenix closed his eyes and nuzzles her hair before following her lead and falling asleep with her.
Alissa woke up a few hours later and sighed softly. She smiled seeing that Phoenix was asleep to but didn't move so he could get the rest he needed. Of course now it was almost night and they would be up for a little bit and then go back to bed after Alissa made sure everything was ready for her little sister tomorrow
Phoenix stirred a while later and blinked rapidly as he woke up. "Mm. How long have I been asleep?" he mumbled, his voice husky from sleep. He stretched his arms then rested his hands on Alissa's waist.
Alissa shrugged a little bit," I had no idea nix, I was sleeping too remember." She said kissing his cheek softly and snuggling close to him
Phoenix nodded. "Right. I meant how long since you've been awake but that's fine." he said and looked down at her, his eyes hooded. "Keep doing that and I'm going to fall asleep again." Nix told her as she cuddled him.
Alissa smiled a little bit and shrugged some," I don't know not that long though." She answered with a smile. She giggled softly and looked up at him," I have to get a few things done before Arie comes."
"Well then go do them. I'll meet you in the bedroom." Nix said, sitting up with her in his arms. He kissed her cheek and ran a hand through her hair. "Have fun setting up for your sister." he told her and then stood up.
"Okay go to sleep and I'll be in in a little bit." She answered giggling softly as she got up moving away from his warmth and smiled," good night Phoenix."
Phoenix nodded. "I may or may not be asleep." he told her then went to the bedroom, throwing on a pair of sweats and shedding his shirt. Nix got into the bed and kicked the blankets off his legs. He was already hot.
Alissa nodded,"'Thats alright." She answered going into the kitchen to make sure she had things for Arielle to eat and for them to make for meals. She tidied up the house and then went to change into her pjs which just consisted of a tank top and shorts. She slipped into bed with Phoenix
Phoenix just managed to stay awake long enough. He wrapped an arm around her when she got into bed and drew her to him. Nix kissed her forehead then closed his eyes as he nearly instantly fell asleep. "Goodnight, sweetheart." Nic murmured before he fell asleep with his forehead against her's.
Alissa smiled as she was pulled into his chest. She kissed his chin softly and slipped her arm around his broad chest," goodnight Nix." She whispered snuggling close to him with a sigh
~ The Next Morning ~ Phoenix woke to the sound of his alarm clock blaring and he groaned. He ears pricked at the sound of two women talking somewhere in the apartment. One of the voices was Alissa's. The other was the most beautiful he had ever heard. Curiosity winning over wanting to stay in bed, Nix got out of bed and went to the bathroom. He put on jeans and a tee shirt. Phoenix brushed his teeth and hair before walking out into the living room. He stopped dead in his tracks as he laid eyes on Alissa's sister.
Of course Arielle had gotten to Phoenix and Alissa's place really early but that was just what she was like now. She wasn't the bubbly little girl Alissa knew she used to be not after everything that happened with all of them. Alissa now tried so hard to make everything the way someone else asked and Arielle just didn't care that much. But now sitting with her sister and listening to her be so excited Arielle couldn't help but smile just a little at her older sister and the way she just was so happy now.
Nix took a few steps back and went into the bedroom again. It couldn't be possible. Arielle was his mate? Nix had felt it. What he thought he had all along was sitting somewhere else while he chose her sister. Phoenix his hands through his hair a couple of times. He had no idea what to do. He couldn't just spring it on them. And he was supposed to marry Alissa. Phoenix sat on the edge of the bed and put his head in his hands. Tia is not what he had expected.
Arielle laughed softly," Liss... You are crazy." She said still laughing and slowly becoming the girl Alissa had told Nix she used to be before everything. Alissa giggled softly as they continued to talk. Arielle looked up slightly and caught Nix's retreating figure. She still didn't know about him actually being her mate just her because she still had not seen him or heard him
Phoenix took a few more moments to compose himself then walked back out into the common area. "Good morning, ladies." he proclaimed as he walked in. Nix kissed Alissa's cheek as he passed by her into the kitchen. Nix grabbed a water then went back in. He stopped by Alissa and smiled. "It's nice to meet you, Arielle." he said politely.
Arielle sighed softly as she looked up seeing Phoenix for the first time. She just stared at him then looked at her sister for a second. "Arie what's wrong?" Alissa asked seeing her sister's wide eyes. Arielle shook her head." Nothing I'm fine." She answered then nodding," it's nice to meet you too." She replied as Alissa looked up at Nix," there's food on the table for you."
Phoenix knew she had figured it out and wondered how they were going to deal with this. "Thanks, sweetheart." he said, giving Alissa a soft quick kiss on the lips before walking into the dining area and sitting at the table. He ate in silence and mulled. He loved Alissa but he couldn't deny the attraction he felt to Arielle. ((I almost feel bad about taking Ali and Nix apart.))
Alissa smiled a little bit," Yoire welcome." She answered kissing him back gently, "Arie and I already are so the rest is yours." She called to him. Arielle looked back at her sister and didn't know what they would do. She could see just how much her older sister loved Nix and she couldn't cause more heartbreak for her didn't no matter what she felt for her fiancé
((I know me too.... Ohh what if Ali finds out that she is really supposed to be with one of his best friends or something??))
Nix finished his breakfast and took his dishes to the sink. He decided he would wash the dishes and started running the water with soap. Nix dunked his hands into the soapy water and started to wash the dishes. ((Ooh. Yes. We'll make it a love rectangle! xD))
Alissa laughed softly as she listened to what Arielle had been up too. "So how is daddy?" She asked softly Arielle sighed a little," Fine I guess I mean nothing has really been the same since everything had happened." She answered
Nix couldn't help that he could hear the girls, the rooms weren't exactly separated and his hearing was boosted because of his were abilities. He washed the dishes as the water and soap continued to lap up his arms. Nix finished them hickey and efficiently then dried 'em and put them away. Nix walked back out and sat on the couch.
Arielle stared at Alissa," have you not told him anything?" She asked as Alissa just shook her head slightly," No I haven't its so hard to talk about though." The younger girl frowned a little bit," but I thought you told him everything."
"I do just haven't said anything about that yet." She answered looking over at Nix as he walked back into the roomm
Phoenix looked over at them as he sat down. "So how are you, Arielle?" he inquired, reaching a hand out to Alissa in invitation to sit with him. As he did, his phone chirped with the alert of a text. Nix pulled out his phone and read it. "Sorry. One of my friends is dropping something off here for me in a bit. He won't be here long." he explained to them with a crooked smile.
Arielle looked at Phoenix and shrugged," I've been alright I guess." She answered watching as Alissa moved close to Nix. Her older sister was so comfortable with him and that's what Areille wanted for once. She looked at Nix her green eyes bright then she looked at Alissa as she nodded," That's fine with me... Wait which friend?" She asked She had found she didn't really like some of his friends
Phoenix wrapped his arm around Ali's waist and looked up at Ari. "Oh, he's one of my old buddies from high school. We haven't seen each other in a few years. He's a good guy. He has a little girl." Nix answered, his expression turning sad. Ash's wife had passed a few years ago, leaving him alone with a two year old to raise. ((I wanted to throw something in.))
Ali nodded slightly," Ohh alright then."Ari frowned a little bit," he has a daughter?" She asked softly," what happened?" She asked glancing at Ali who sighed softly knowing why she was getting that look from her younger sister
Nix ran a hand through his hair. "His wife died to years ago. She was mauled by a rival pack at night." he answered somberly. It had been awful and made it even a few of the big news stations. Which is really what started the manhunts for wolves around that time. Diana was really the last straw for some people.
Ari's eyes widened a little bit," That's awful." She said softly. "And it sounds so much like what happened to us." She said quietly more to herself than anyone else Ali stared at her younger sister," Arie." She said softly as the other girl just shook her head," don't
Nix heard what she said, which made him wonder. A moment later a knock on the door made him look up. Phoenix got up and went to the door. He opened it then exchanged a hug with back pat with Ash before moving away. "It's good to see you." Nix said. Ash was a big man. Tall and burly, he was a couple inches taller than Phoenix. "It's good to see you too, man." he said as he walked into the apartment. "I assume one of these lovely ladies is your fiancé?" he said as he looked at them.
Ali looked at the door the same time Nix did bit let him get it. She looked at Arie." Come on just let me tell him when I feel the time is right for him to know."Arie nodded," fine bit I think you should tell him before he actually sees mom and dad together since you know." She replied softly then looking over at Ash and Nix walked back into the room.
Ali smiled," I am." She replied looking over at them
((If we're having one of Nix's friends be Ali's actual mate, Ash is the one.))Nix smiled and nodded but started to wonder again. He felt like he shouldn't be claiming her as his. He couldn't, really. Nix walked over to Ali and wrapped an arm around her waist, holding her against his side. "This is Alissa and that," he introduced, booking a thumb over his shoulder towards Ari. "Is her younger sister, Arielle."
Ash nodded. "It's nice to meet you." he said to both of them, shoving his hands in his pockets. "The thing is in my truck." Ash told Nix and ran a hand through he blonde hair.
((Okay then)) Alissa smiled a little bit as Nix pulled her against his side. She looked over at Ash and something in her changed. Everyone always said that you would know when you met your mate. Alissa thought she had when she met Nix but maybe that wasn't true but she couldn't say anything now. "It's nice to meet you too." She answered softly with a faint smile
Arielle looked over at Nix for a spilt second before she looked back at Ash of course she was slightly jealous of the two of them," yeah it's nice to meet you." She said
Nix nodded. "Alright. Let's go get it." he said and they both walked out of the apartment. They reached Ash's truck, Ash got inside and got out with a templet and ink gun. The pattern template was supposed to tattooed on the married couple's wrists the day after their wedding when they married outside their own pack. It was the same template and gun used at Ash's wedding. Ash cleared his throat and handed the items to Nix. "Here it is." he said then gave Nix a clap on the shoulder.
Alissa looked over at her sister as they left. "So I think he may be the one you are walking down the aisle with." She said softly Arielle nodded a little bit," ohh fun." She muttered," come on Ali just tell Nix what happened." She said softly. Now Arie only felt this way because she was supposed to be Nix's mate not her sister. She sighed a little bit not knowing what to do if there was even anything to do
Nix smiled at his friend. "Thank you, Ash. This means a lot to Ali and I." he said but as soon as he says those words he wasn't so sure again. Would he and Ali ever get the tattoos or would he rightfully end up with Ari. "It's no big deal. That things been sitting up in my arctic for nearly a month me. Decided someone else should have it." Ash said, a little emotionally.
Hesitantly Ali said." Arie you know how dad used to talk about how he just knew that your mom was the one for him?" She asked softly Arie nodded a little." Yeah I remember, why?"
"Do you think he was just pulling our leg or do you think you can just know by seeing that other person for the first time."
Arie chewed on her lip a little bit," I don't know Ali." She said softly thinking her sister was fishing for something out of her
Nix nodded and gave his friend a pat on the back. "Well thank you. I guess I'll see you around then. There will be no getting out of tux fittings." he said with a laugh as they bro hugged. Ash nodded and said his goodbyes before climbing into his truck. He started and pulled out and away with a wave, driving back out into the streets.
Nix went back inside and took the things to the bedroom, putting it on top of his dresser then came back out.
Ali sighed softly and looked at her younger sister," I think that maybe dad was right I mean there are myths about that." She said softlyAri nodded," yeah but those are myths doesn't mean they are true." She answered looking up at Nix walked back into the apartment. She looked back at her sister still pretending there wasn't anything up.
Ali looked at Nix completely missing the look on her younger sisters face
Nix smiled at Ali and went over to her, kidding her cheek. "I got the stuff from Ash. Is there something you two wanted to do today?" Nix asked, looking over at Ari and noting the odd look on her face. Maybe she felt it too and he wasn't crazy. "I'll take you if you guys want to go out." Phoenix offered, looking back down at Ali.
