What is your definition of a june bug?

Webster's version? any of the numerous rather large leaf-eating scarab beetles that fly chiefly in late spring and feed on the roots of grasses and other plants

or

Urban Dictionary's definition? little brown beetles famous for their incessant bumping into porch lights and houses on a late spring to summer evening. Often tries to sneak into houses, either by flying right in when the door is open, or by hitching a ride on somebody's clothes like a little ninja. Harmless to humans and cannot bite. Despite their name, they come out as early as May.

Read: 18/18 Finished!

✔ bite..... Where There's Smoke → ★★★★☆ | 6/1
David glanced at Zach and saw him bite the head off his own red-sprinkled cookie. “I’ve just always found it to have the perfect combination of crunch-to-chewy ratio,” David explained.

✔ brown..... The Frat Brat → ★★★★☆ | 6/6
Kyle now had to see Dice every day. Had to smell him, hear his voice, and see those beautiful brown eyes.

✔ clothes..... Brewing Up Trouble → ★★★★☆ | 6/5
As he removed his apron and dusted off his clothes, he tried to remember if there had been a problem with any of their recent orders.

✔ door..... Waiting for Clark → ★★★★★ | 6/13
Tony was playing The Flash, and he had to hand me the folder so that he could adjust his tights as the line inched slowly toward the door.

✔ early..... Misfits → ★★★★★ | 6/19
What was he doing in Hampstead so early?

✔ famous..... Spectacularly Broken → ★★★★★ | 6/14
Yeah, right. Being famous and living in luxury would be such a chore. Look, Lys, I’m trying to like you, and I’m trying not to be bitter, okay? But you’re making that really difficult.

✔ flying..... The Forest Savage → ★★★★★ | 6/7
It was Troy, running towards Cal, gangly and awkward, arms and legs flying in seemingly random directions.

✔ house..... My Only Sunshine → ★★★★☆ | 6/24
Only, when he finally got to his cousins' house, they were gone too, and the new family in their house had no idea where they'd moved.

✔ human..... Kick at the Darkness → ★★★★★ | 6/5
He’d be grateful to see any other uninfected human, but he longed for Adam, and his scruff that was turning into a beard, his wry smile and infuriating calm.

✔ light..... Cheeky Hipsters & Jocks → ★★★★☆ | 6/16
Elijah tipped his beer toward the light, scrutinizing it, and then nodded before finishing his own.

✔ little..... An Unexpected Summer → ★★★☆☆ | 6/26
Brendan loved his little sisters, but they were so young, and it was different.

✔ May..... This We'll Defend → ★★★☆☆ | 6/16
He still remembered the first time he’d seen the photo, the day Top had called him to his office. May 12th, 1988.

✔ name..... Shelter from the Storm → ★★★★☆ | 6/20
By the by, to this day I am “Daniel Cooper” in our household, and I can tell you it makes a man feel fifteen feet tall to be given the respect of his full name.

✔ ninja..... Sam and Aaron → ★★★★☆ | 6/3
And what was he doing here in Smithfield, lurking in the night, dressed as a ninja and smelling like my sister’s laundry room?

✔ porch..... All Kinds of Tied Down → ★★★★☆ | 6/12
Everything hurt, and having Brent Ivers on my front porch was not helping.

✔ sneak..... Body Art → ★★★☆☆ | 6/29
“Nothing. I just thought I’d tell you. You don’t have to sneak around.”

✔ Spring..... Becoming Dad → ★★★★☆ | 6/2
The early spring sun’s bright rays reached inside the shed, brightening the dimness, and momentarily blinding him.

✔ Summer..... Lima Oscar Victor Echo and The Truth About Everything → ★★★★★ | 6/8
In summer, the Swan was one of Jamie’s favourite places to be― out in the pub garden, sitting on the benches, looking at the spectacular Welsh mountains, the way the valley dropped away around him.

Objective: Find words inside of books read in June

Little: Sheridan had been lucky enough to help her create the cocktail, sampling one after another one late summer evening not that long ago, until they’d been more than a little tipsy. – Game for Marriage by Karen Erickson – Page 8
Brown: His hair was a rich brown, tinged with gold, and a tad overgrown so it waved at the nape. - Game for Marriage by Karen Erickson – Page 3
Famous: Jared Quinn was definitely famous enough to be constant tabloid fodder. - Game for Marriage by Karen Erickson – Page 12
Porch: Once she’d located Dorie’s home, she stood at the front porch and rang the doorbell. - Stealing Second by Alison Packard – Location 317
Light: He stood directly in front of her, his shoulders so broad he blocked out most of the light shining from the small lamp that sat on her desk. - Game for Marriage by Karen Erickson – Page 65
House: And when he’d hit it big, he’d bought his dad a house and made sure he was financially sound. - Game for Marriage by Karen Erickson – Page 55
Spring: If he’s in top shape and his skills haven’t diminished, he could be considered for one of the non-roster invitee slots at spring training with the Blaze. - Stealing Second by Alison Packard – Location 67
Summer: Sheridan had been lucky enough to help her create the cocktail, sampling one after another one late summer evening not that long ago, until they’d been more than a little tipsy. – Game for Marriage by Karen Erickson – Page 8
Sneak: “You are definitely about to sneak into a crappy motel and have hot, sweaty sex with me all night long.” - Game for Marriage by Karen Erickson – Page 32
Flying: The memory of his warm blue gaze, how he’d leaned in close and whispered near her ear, “You look beautiful,” had sent a million bazillion butterflies flying within her body. - Game for Marriage by Karen Erickson – Page 74
Door: The doors would close in little over and hour, and the crows was starting to thin. - Game for Marriage by Karen Erickson – Page 8
Clothes: She always kept extra clothes around for moments just like that. - Game for Marriage by Karen Erickson – Page 62
Ninja: made Emma briefly wonder what Danielle did for a living. Attorney? Broker? Advertising? Ninja? - The Trouble With Love by Lauren Layne – Location 871
Human: Tall and with those broad, capable shoulders and long, quick legs, he was built like a super human. - Game for Marriage by Karen Erickson – Page 150
Bite: He wanted to bite it. - Game for Marriage by Karen Erickson – Page 137
Name: “Miss Live Painter, do you have a name?” - Game for Marriage by Karen Erickson – Page 5
Early: “I’m early.” - Game for Marriage by Karen Erickson – Page 20
May: “No later than May.” - Once and Again by Elisabeth Barrett – Location 260
