Space: Heart, Free Read
Title by Author: Dance of Shadows by Yelena Black
Read: 2/10/2013
Rating: ★★☆☆☆
Review:
Dance of Shadows had an interesting premise and was written well, but the execution just didn't live up to my expectations. The characters in this book were very one-note, especially the main character Vanessa. The story did not flow organically and a lot of the reveals just seemed to come out of no where. Though this is the first in a new series, most of the major plotlines are concluded here. I don't think I will be continuing with this series in the future.

You'll love dory's books daffodil! I think I enjoyed them more than the original series :S

Review: Set in the same universe as the Cassie Palmer series, Midnight's Daughter introduces a few new characters as well as revisiting some familiar ones. The fast paced action moved the story along quickly, without being as out of control frantic as the Palmer books can be.
Dorina is a strong, independent character with family problems. Her father Mircea has been absent for most of her life, despite his stated belief in strong family ties. Uncle Radu is a little odd and Uncle Dracula is a lot crazy, in a homicidal way. I enjoyed seeing Mircea through a different set of eyes and getting a new perspective. It was also interesting to see how Cassie's interference with the time line has affected Louis Cesare and the insights into his past were one of my favorite things in this book.
Overall a great read and I will definitely be continuing this series.

review:
i finished this today and i thought the author tried a little to hard to bring murder, intrigue, mystery and sexual tension into the book. the writing style, while it flowed wasn't very good. i found the 'sexual tension' between the 3 main characters to be annoying. i managed to finish purely because i can't stand to leave a book unfinshed. if i see the rest of the series for free i may add them to my kindle but i won't be spending money on them. two and half stars from me.....

Gin is an assasian who was trained and taken in while a child by her mentor Fletcher. She gets hired for a hit that's worth way more money than usual but the time frame is shorter than what she usually works with. Everything goes to hell with said hit and now she's running for her life with Fletcher's son Finn and a detective who's actually an honest cop. The romantic suspense between Gin and the detective was perfect. The action was perfect! Gin is total kickass and smart. The world building was good too. People are elementals and vamps. The elementals can control stone, fire, wind, and ice and some of them are quite formidable with their elemental magic. I don't know why I waited so long to read this. I will definitely continue with the series.

You should join us! I've had this book on my TBR for a year now. I wish I would of picked it up sooner!

Divine by Mistake is annoying me this week. I think it is the writing and the way the story is being told. 35 year old character acting like she is 18 straight out of high school.
I am going to change my book as I am not even a 1/4 the way done with Divine.
I am changing my book to

Review:
This book was extremely cute and laugh-out-loud funny. I couldn't help but smile in a lot of places in the book. I wasn't really sure how the epilogue really made sense but that is okay as long as the writing is fairly similar throughout the other books in the series.
Alona and Will are such interesting characters and learn so much from each other in such a short book. They are very distinct in the type of character they are and it was great to see that they didn't change too far from their typical selves. I think that is what made them batter as characters.

I will also look for some back ups just in case

I will now load my book.

Review: After a 3 book prologue I was expecting a little bit more on the romance front. Instead of aching for Butch & Marissa as I did for Bella & Zsadist, I found myself wanting to Gibbs slap the pair of them multiple times. Between the poorly articulated feelings/intentions and the quick leap to conclusions, I'm surprised it didn't take another 3 books for these two to become a couple. Definitely more annoying than romantic.
What kept me glued to the page and reading to the very end was the plot twist or as I like to call it, What the heck is happening to Butch? Events at the beginning of the book introduced changes into Butch's life and I had to know what the resolution to this would be. It will be interesting to see how this plays into the bigger battle.
So Romance 3, plot 5 = overall rating of 4 stars. I'll definitely be reading the next book, V's story. And how long do I have to wait for Rhev's???

Rhev's book

Ooops!! Fixed it, thanks.

I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I was expecting cookie cutter typical PNR. That was NOT the case. We have Greek Gods, immortals, humans with special powers, and demons. I'm a sucker for a unique and eclectic group in a book. This book delivered that! I can't wait to find out more about the other lords.

I found this a little disjointed in some places. A slow start but overall a good read. It changes the concepts of angel and vampire a little with archangels running cities being feared by humans and being the ones who Make and then control vampires. I think it will be interesting to see where this series goes.....

Title by Author: Wasteland by Susan Kim and Laurence Klavan
Read: 2/21/2013
Rating: ★★☆☆☆
Review:
Wasteland has left me feeling pretty neutral. It wasn’t a bad book, but it didn’t wow me in any way either. The story was a basic dystopian where everyone is struggling to survive, but we aren’t given any type of background knowledge to ground the story. Why is the rain poison? Why doesn’t anyone live past 19? Why is the world so destroyed? None of that is explained. Instead, this felt more like an episode from a larger series, like one TV show taken from a much longer, complete season. I was okay with the ending and don't feel the need to continue any farther with the series.

Please do this asap, & Belinda, you shouldn't have drawn the card without the review.

Guys, until Meghan posts her review please think about what you will read for this week but don't post as yet.
If the review is not up by the end of today we'll have to miss this week.
