by Coreene CallahanI know I've read other PNR that are not set in modern times but I can't think of any right now.
Thought of a couple more. I highly recommend the Wild Wulfs of London trilogy. Very good.
also The Arcane Society series. The first one is Second sight. It has people with enhanced and psychic abilities.
I recommend you to read Cyn series by Jenna MacLaine. Great series but very underrated. Take place from Victorian English to Civil War in America
Kristen Callahan's series is very good. I loved it!!43 And Zoe Archer has a historical paranormal/steam punkish series that is good. This is the first one:
I also just finished one that was pretty good.
Another author to try is Alix Rickloff. She has a historical paranormal series that I really enjoyed. The first one is
And of course Karen Marie Moning has her Highlander/time travel series that is wonderful.
is the start of that series.
I second Zoe Archer! I really love her Blades of The Rose serie. A perfect mix of adventure, paranormal, historical and romance. Also steamy too!Another rec's are :
Lydia Dare
Kim Lenox
Bec McMaster
Also, Zoe Archer has the Hellraisers series, which takes place in Georgian times (1700s)
And The Devil's Possession, My Immortal Protector are two medieval PNRs.
A must read IMO is Deborah Harkness's All Souls trilogy. The first, A Discovery of Witches, takes place in modern times, but in the second, Shadow of Night, the main characters go back in time to Shakespeare's day. The third is yet to come. Also, Amanda Quick's Arcane Society takes part in the past, part in the present.
Mia Marlowe's Touch of Seduction trilogy takes place in Regency times. The three books in it are: Touch of a Thief, Touch of a Rogue, and Touch of a Scoundrel.
Theresa Meyers's The Legend trilogy is a PNR that takes place in the Wild West. 2 of the 3 books are out so far: The Hunter and The Slayer.
Besides the Highlander Series by KMM (which was mentioned above). I've just discovered the Immortal Brotherhood series (they are non-traditional shifters). I really enjoyed the first book and can't wait to get to the second one.
I also enjoyed the steampunk "Iron Seas series" by Meljean Brook. Love the first two books & got the 3rd one line up for next month.
I'm not sure I'd call it paranormal romance as such (there is a romance - vampire woman human man, unusually - but the focus is definitely on the wider plot) but Anno Dracula is set in Victorian times, then it's sequel, the Bloody Red Baron is set during World War One. It starts off with Dracula marrying Queen Victoria and goes from there. I wasn't sure I'd like it, and it's probably not for everyone, but in the end I found it absolutely amazing - can't stop recommending it at the moment.
I love history and there are some fab recommendations on here that I'm now desperate to try out.
Here are some of my favorites. An older Regency Vampire miniseries by Colleen Gleason you might enjoy is A Book of the Regency Dracula: The Vampire Voss, The Vampire Dimitri, and The Vampire Narcise.
For something a bit different, you could try Knight of Runes in which the heroine travels back in time and a druid wants to protect her.
And another series I really enjoyed was Heather Graham's Vampire Hunters: Night of the Wolves, Night of the Vampires, and Bride of the Night.
