It is impossible to keep up. I have a couple of series where I'm always up to date and the rest depends on my mood and what I've picked for challenges.Remember, reading is meant to be fun!!! LOL.
Just finished Obsidian, book 8 of New Species, it's become another fave in the series. Starting book 9 Shadow which is the last release and ill be looking for my next book by Wednesday I'm sure.
Barbara how did you like Dark of Night? The Troubleshooters is one of my all time favorite series but Dark of Night is my least favorite in that series. If you are like me, I promise the next one is better!
Hi all. Not sure if this is the right place for this but I just finished
Was this the last in the series?? I don't know how i feel about the end of this book.. If there is another book in the series my opinion might change.
I think there is more to come, just perusing one of my friends reviews and she stated she'd have to wait a year - presumably for the next book.

Lol true...I hate buying books and never reading them. Although some series were just too much, like the Zodiac series by Vicki Pettersson. And I haven't kept up with the biggies either *cough Laurel K. Hamilton cough Kim Harrison*. I guess they got too old too quick, burned bright and were awesome when I first found them but a couple years later? Meh..
However, I did pull this thread up with the purpose and intent of updating my status on current reading material. Just finished
and am now working on
...as well as still trying to work through
and
I just started and stopped 2 arcs -- got to 10% in each of them and didn't like them.So I am now reading another ARC, I hope I have better luck this time!
and am reading for a real life book club
and I am listening to
Don't you hate when the blurb sounds so interesting but then you just can't get into the actual story?
Finished Shadow sooner than expected it was by far the best in the series for me I just couldn't put it down. I am going to not so patiently wait for Moon the next release in the series.I've decided to start the Caster series next I hope I enjoy it as much as everyone seems to be.
Lil question, I'm new here and don't quite follow some of the lingo what's arc and dnf?

Hi Tiffani, welcome! An ARC is an advanced reader copy of a not-yet-published book. It is usually distributed either by the publisher, the author, or through websites like Netgalley and Edelweiss. People are often able to win them in contests.
DNF means "did not finish" reading.
Thanks christal I know there's a few soon to be released copies I'd like to get my hands on and wow I see dnf a lot I've never started something and didn't finish no matter how bad I need an ending
I have too many books I want to read and too little reading time to stick with a book I don't like. :)
Regina wrote: "I have too many books I want to read and too little reading time to stick with a book I don't like. :)"Exactly!
I try to be like that but it is so hard for me to put a book down unfinished. I'm always thinking, "But what if it gets better?" Sadly, they usually don't.

That's true. It was a meh book until the last third.
Should I just pick up the last third? But in truth, I wasn't captivated by the first. Me and UF haven't gotten along well this past year. I have enjoyed PNR more than UF -- which is crazy for me. My favorite authors (Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Jim Butcher) are not included in any problems I have had this past year -- I loved their books.

Thanks Pennynickel. That is a relief.

I agree. The end of this one really left some interesting options for the next book. Or, it could have been a good place to leave you finishing the story for yourself. It just had the final end feeling for me. I'm glad there is still time for what I want to happen - even though you are made to believe it wont. Hope that was vague enough. I wish they came out quicker!
Ellese wrote: "Well, I have a lot to read right now apparently. I am currently reading

and I am going to try and re-read [bookcover:Beauti..."Hi Ellese, not sure how you feel about audio books but I recently had some seriously unfun chores to do at home and treated myself to the beautiful creatures audiobook to keep me working. It was fantastic! I loved it so much I listened to the whole series. I didn't even know it was going to be a movie until just now. That was good timing.
Christal wrote: "I try to be like that but it is so hard for me to put a book down unfinished. I'm always thinking, "But what if it gets better?" I am anxious to start Ever After, but things are too hectic right now. I want some uninterrupted time to read it. Maybe when we fly.
I listened to Beautiful Creatures while we were unpacking from a move a few years back and really enjoyed it. Made the chore feel less dreadful. Audiobooks are great for brightening up unfun chores. :)
I read a freebie
and liked it okay. It was about a new cougar-shifter chosen to be Alpha Queen of a wolf pack. Cool idea mixed with a bunch of fated-to-be-mated sex. I'm in the middle of Hunter's anthology book
and really enjoying it. She writes good shorts. I'm anxious for book 6, Blood Trade, due out in April and this is a nice tide-me-over read.
I grabbed that one as an Amazon freebie last year, but haven't read it. The prequel Caged View: A Collection of Urban Fantasy Short Stories is available free @ Smashwords. You can grab that here: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/..., if you haven't already. I'll be interested to hear how you like it.
Oh I have that! I wonder if I should read that first or if it is the type of prequel to read after you read the first one, you know what I mean? I have heard such good things about it.
I do know what ya mean, but I'm not sure which order they should be read. Sorry. Maybe the author's website has some details?
I've just finished
and loved it! Immortals After Dark has turned into my joint favourite PNR series. I'm going onto
next :D
We determined it best to read the IAD series before jumping into Shadow's Claim, yah Josie? Each time I see that books cover I wanna read it. LOL! I think I should probably wait though b/c I've only read 2 of the IAD books so far.
Yes! And I'm glad I did, they're all introduced in Lothaire and I'm thinking it'd be quite spoilery reading The Dacian's first.I think you'd love them, Steph - they remind me of Psy-Changeling, the arc becomes more intriguing with every book. At first, I wasn't too fussed about the series (I didn't even particularly like The Warlord Wants Forever) but it really does hit it's stride. Highly recommended ;)
Finished
too this week & LOVED it!!! Think this is one of my favs of the series so far. I know this is a tough series to get into in the beginning, but if you can hang in there... It's a good one! It's also very good in audio. Also read
and freebies
and
And my New Years healthy read
for recipes.
