Ames, I just got approved for an ARC of Red Rising!!!Darkhouse is like crack. You'll want the rest of the series.
I haven't decided which one I'm going to read yet but I've noticed lots of people have been obsessively reading the Darkhouse series so I know it must be a good read. Also, I forgot I'd collected
from the library yesterday and it's awesome! I love it so much I'm going to buy a copy just like I did with
.
Finished
. I may be reaching my EIT fill b/c I wasn't as taken by the story in this one. That said, the interactions between Dex & Perry ... top-notch awesomesauce! (To steal a phrase from Miss LL) :DI'm reading
before moving onto
.
I've just realised the image Steph used for the opening post of this thread is from
.I started
but it's so sad and emotional that I think I have to put it aside for now, though I've no doubt it will get a high rating from me in the end.I think I'm going to read
because the authors always put a smile on my face.
I still haven't read 'Gunmetal Magic' yet so hope you like it Ames! I feel like I need to read it soon seeing as
is nearing release (I feel like the only one but I have to say I love the cover/new model) - does anyone know if you have to read GM first?
Gunmetal Magic has overlapping plot points from Magic Slays, its just all from Andrea's pov, then it goes just a little further than MS.So you could probably get away with not reading GM first, but why wouldn't you read it anyway? They are just such a great writing team ;)
I like the new cover but I agree with the majority that she looks a little young for Kate.
Trying to get a few freebies in before bingo starts and reading
which isn't bad if you're not too picky about the editing. Also read
which was just ok.

Lol! I will read it though I didn't know it overlapped with Magic Slays :)
Regarding the cover I like that it's brighter and more eye-catching, I also like that the model is quite striking. Weirdly I always thought the previous model looked slightly too old seeing as kate is only... 24? Is that right? Anyway, it's probably because I'm soon to be 22 and I look about 12 that I don't mind too much :P
Josie, that sounds like my sister. She's only 6 yrs younger than me but she passes for an older sister of her eldest, who is 22. ROFL
LMAO! I'm hoping that will be me but I know that when I hit a certain age I'll soon catch up and look my age ;)
I haven't written in a while but I just finished, in the last month and a half,
and a book that is somehow not listed on goodreads and is a manga, The Adventures of Johnny Bunko.
I have several that for some reason I cannot finish and so many to start I don't know where to begin. I think my next read tho will probably be
I am currently reading
by Julia Crane. SO far, I am loving it I am already waiting for the second book. I just can't wait for it to be released. I hope it is soon.

I read a few little things lately but only managed to finish
.I'm currently trying to finish
for Bingo. While it's a very nice story...after reading Locke Lamora...it's less satisfying.
Val,I loved Edge of Dawn, which was a passing of the torch kind of book for the Midnight Breed men. I am exited about the direction of the story.
Ezinwanyi~For you, Agron wrote: "Val,I loved Edge of Dawn, which was a passing of the torch kind of book for the Midnight Breed men. I am exited about the direction of the story."
I agree that it's a good direction for the story. I was expecting something like Walking Dead but skipping 20 years kind of shut down the idea. My only problem was Kellen was a bit TSTL with his guilt trip...otherwise it gave new life to the series.
I agree. Kellan was a bit dramatic. Mira was very forgiving too. But i like how the author keeps the series much tighter than Ward keeps BDB.BDB is my favorite, but damn, the author has so much going on with all the time
I wanna start that series this year, Sandra. Glad to see you're enjoying it. I've finished
(not bad) and
(A-mazing!) for BSB. Not sure what's up next.
I've got
from the library so it'll be soon, but next up for me is
also from the library. That is so rare (the library having books I want to read) that I gotta take advantage when I can.
I've literally just finished
after it's released at midnight in the UK. ★★★★★ [Yes, I read through the night. Totally worth it.]

Yes, you are really missing out....is it in the SOS bookshelf so that I can sneak it in as a Free Space book?
I'll fit it in. For BSB, my rule is that I have got to read books I have on hand. No buying, borrowing books. Preferably read a freebie.

Yep, it's there.
Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ wrote: "....is it in the SOS bookshelf so that I can sneak it in as a Free Space book?..."I listed it on the "New Releases for June" which counts for free space too...
I'm also reading
and listening to
for BSB, and both good so far.

Just finished
and not real sure I am going to finish the series. Perhaps I will give it one more shot to see if the second one will redeem the series for me. I also finished
and although it isn't a series Lancaster has several other books similar and I am loving them. Right now I am reading
and

Think I might try that tonight.

Probably the humor that throws people off (which is a bit toned down in the second book). I enjoy the series, but don't force yourself if it isn't connecting for you.
I will probably read the second Jean because I love humorous books and I didn't hate it. Worth one more shot.
Just finished
and made progress with
.I will admit that The Surgeon is a very dark read, but still good. Deadly Sting is so far sounding a lot like the other books in the series...I only wish something new would happen and this bullshit with Owen wouldn't keep going...but alas, authors and their "tension"...

I have read all the Rizzoli and Isles books and they are really good.
Oh good, I will continue to read the series, albeit more cautiously...no more reading it before bedtime!! My boss (at the bookstore I work at) likes them as well.

Ames, Wild Invitation is a quick read and I really enjoyed Gunmetal Magic.
From all accounts above, if you start Dark House first, be prepared to read them all very quickly. LOL
