So I'm a 23 year old girl from Algeria, my name is Nour El Houda which means "light of the guidance" -for those who are interested- everyone calls me Houda, just Houda. I'm an architect.
When I was younger reading wasn't really my thing -nobody encouraged me- but recently I discovered the pleasure of reading, and since I fell in love with so many books, characters, authors and stories.
I'm Arab and I speak French, so I usually read in French but I'm trying to read as many books in English as possible.
I love Agatha Christie and Suzanne Collins
Kind regards,
Houda

My name's Ian, based in Selby North Yorkshire, UK, avid reader and more recently a writer although I've been penning for a number of years now. I'm a trucker for Eddie Stobart by profession which is where most of my writing gets done oddly enough, waiting for loads or unloads, it can be laborious sometimes. Not been a member of Goodreads for long but have to say, it's a great place for ideas, meeting fellow book lovers and a wealth of knowledge and reviews on which books to read and avoid.
Reading through the posts on the various topics helps me to unwind and I'll comment if I think my contribution will help. I like that fact that readers and writers are able to interact, in very few places anywhere else could this happen, I mean, you couldn't talk to the designer of your washing machine and ask him why he made it that way could you? Anyway, it's horrendously silly o clock and I'm probably wittering on like a mad man now so, lovely to join you all and I hope we'll cross messages sooner or later.
Ian

First of all, I want to thank Sean for inviting me into the group. This is the first group I've ever joined on Goodreads.
My name is Elaine and I've been a member of Goodreads for only two years. I couldn't believe it took me that long to discover this website! I love love love to read! As much as I love to run! If I could read as I run...then I might crash into a pole but I'd risk it if I could combine two of my loves into one singular activity. Then, I could get more reading done and increase the stack of books on my bedside table!
I love mysteries and thrillers but find myself reading a lot of YA in recent years, if only this dystopian trend would stop soon. I'm kind of over it already. I'm always on the lookout for a great horror novel but find that's few and far in between, not to mention it takes a lot to scare me!
I'm a New York native and besides reading and running, I enjoy browsing in bookstores, checking out what passengers on the subway are reading for possible future reads and writing the next great American novel with my best friend.
It's great to meet fellow book lovers who enjoy reading the same genres as I do.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Best,
Elaine

Thanks! I look forward to talking to as many people as I can in this group.
So many new faces since I was here last. Fun and interesting.
