First come, first serve. Cheers to all!

I'm a brand new indie member and a published thriller author who presently is reading, amongst a few select others, a most delightful novel, Babel, by NY Times bestseller author RF Kuang. Though this novel is arguably not strictly considered sense impaled of the triller genre, it nevertheless evokes a certain language trill.
Something about holding a oddly purposeful thought in mind, that magical missing third term and link of a matched language pair lost in translation. Something else. Simultaneously uncanny. The thrilling certainty of being spent uniquely, forever lying within the wide shadowy fields of apparent darkness, your reflected diaspora and abyss of absolute paradox.
Cognitively dissident and woefully ambiguous. Brilliantly conflicted of gray cloudy ambivalence. This remarkable tale brings strange sight to the blind. Bright cool blue flickering light to the realms of mind. Billowing cracker jack checkerboard patterns, piercing diagonals of light dark interference.
Still only half way to completion I can categorically say that this manifesto of hermeneutic interpretation is a thriller of absolute proportion. As artful as a dodger, as one might say, icy cold frozen fiery constructs whose hidden latent formalities and most lovely aspects remain as carefully designed pseudonyms, anchoring a dire thought provoking dark message: a classic prospect coming of age story.
Such a thrilling self revelation as one chillingly gets is akin to analogy. Twin brothers in arms. Ego and alter, , lovers and
and killers, two half brothers, Cain and Abel, made alike of idea and image, reflections of the same godly self.
Babel to beg this question: Are these a pair of twin tower killers or are they rather like kind genomic patriarchs? Perhaps they are two so to speak lines of generational descent, colliding in an absolute mission of biblical proportion, having the cellular effect much like psychedelics.
Each producing a reverberating revery of oscillating gravitational waves, continuous motion that is until most unexpectedly all action stops. Suddenly crashed down into stasis, at this point we can only wait and watch with dispassionate will the frozen silent anguish, as the walls of Jericho come tumbling down. In one single instant all brick and mortar, those built out of progressive western rational knowledge, egos in the making dissolved, of material eventuality.
All what was left to complete is the indeterminate harvest. A ripe review brightly cast from the making of Babel by RF Kuang.
Cheers.

In my free time, I love to read suspenseful thrillers or romance, play a few video games, play the ukulele and sing, run, and find new recipes to try (especially if I can get the ingredients from my little garden out back).
I have ADHD, OCD, major depressive and anxiety disorders and PTSD. I have lived a pretty busy lifestyle since I was 15, but the last year I have worked on slowing down and finding things that bring me happiness and books are one of those things. The more I simplify my life, the better I feel. I’m excited to have found this group and can’t wait to “meet” you all!

My name is Ramla Zareen, and I'm very happy to join this group :-) I'm originally from Pakistan but have been living in Germany since more than fifteen years.
I love reading, and my favourite genres are Mystery and Romance. Since the past few years, I've been very much into Romantic Suspense.
Some of my favourite Romantic Suspense authors are:
Jami Alden, Toni Anderson, Allison Brennan, Kylie Brant, Sandra Brown, Lisa Childs, Diana Duncan, Lena Diaz, Cynthia Eden, Kendra Elliot, Tee O'Fallon, Adrienne Giordano, Kay Hooper, Linda Howard, Rita Herron, Alexandra Ivy, Julie James, Julie Anne Lindsey, Melinda Leigh, Judith McNaught, Karen Rose, Nora Roberts, Amanda Stevens, Norah Wilson, and Rebecca Zanetti.
I'm currently in the mood for a Mystery Thriller Series where both the male and the female protagonist—or at least one of them—are in law enforcement. They should focus mainly on investigating the crime but there should be some Romance between them as well. Each book in the series should have a separate Mystery. That is, no cliffhanger endings. Also, I'd prefer it if the stories are about serial killers rather than, say, organised crimes.
If anyone could recommend something like that to me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks :-)
For reference, here are some of my favourite Mystery Thriller authors:
Allison Brennan, Kendra Elliot, Melinda Leigh, Lisa Regan, and Leslie Wolfe.
Looking forward to interacting with you all. Happy Reading :-)

I thought I would recommend this book to you based on your likes.

I..." Hi Ramla. It's great to see you here, too. I agree with Kirsten's recommendations as well as those we've already discussed in your discussion group. If you end up enjoying the Rockton series, then there is a spin-off series of Haven's Rock that is also great. Welcome!

Thank you Kirsten :-) The "In Death" series is already on my TBR list. I read a few books of the series a long time ago. I enjoyed them, and now that I'm on a Romantic Suspense & Mystery Thriller spree, I'm looking forward to trying out the later books too. The Rockton series by Kelley Armstrong also sounds great.
Likewise, Pam, and thanks for the recommendations. As I mentioned before, I've discovered some really good authors because of you :-) I checked out the Rockton and Haven's Rock series. Both seem great. I added them to my TBR list.

I would love to grow my friends on here, so feel free to add me!! 🩷✨

Welcome! Saw your post and added you as friend.

I'm Liv. I live in Philadelphia, PA, with my wife and our three dogs. She and I have been married three years, and together six. She's my best friend, and my better half. We both like reading, though are largely interested in different types of books.
I have a bone-deep passion for reading. At the beginning of 2024, I set a goal to diversify my reading genres by branching more into mysteries and thrillers. Not only did I successfully accomplish this goal, but I found out that I actually love these genres and their subgenres. I enjoy engrossing myself in a good horror thriller, psychological thriller, domestic thriller, and everything akin to the mystery and thriller genres. I'm consistently eager to explore more in these genres!
Besides my strong passion for reading, I also really like promoting and spotlighting books through reviews. I aspire to become a respected book reviewer and advocate for highlighting books, authors, and series that may not receive enough attention. There are many excellent, underrated books that deserve to be discovered!

My name is Alisha. I am from Alabama. I am a full time working mom to toddler twins and their older sister, but I have recently taken an interest in reading again (when I have the time.)
I only read about 2-3 books a month (sometimes less), but I do try to stay consistent with reading a little every day.
I love to read a good crime thriller.
James Patterson has my heart for novels, but recently I’ve become a big fan of Jeneva Rose.
I do try to branch out of my usual books, sometimes I’ll select a book at random and end up really enjoying it, even if it’s not my style.
I have a collection of Nicholas Sparks and Colleen Hoover.
I am always open to recommendations.
Looking forward to being a part of the group!
I am also terrible at this kind of thing, so comments be kind please.
Thank you for allowing me to join. ❤️🌷
Welcome newest members, it's lovely to see you here. Have a wonder around the site and do join in. It's a friendly group with lovely discussions. Enjoy.

I’m Gina and I’m so excited to be here! I live right outside of Boston but always heading up North to enjoy the lakes and mountains in Maine and New Hampshire.
I used to read all the time but unfortunately let it slip away from me for the past few years. Now I’m just getting back into it and realizing how much I’ve missed it! I’m also just discovering Goodreads… wow!
I look forward to connecting with all of you and hearing all about your reviews and suggestions!

The series is best read in order, as a romance develops. My review of book 1. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I love retirement, I love the movies, a real movie buff/author.

My name is Kylie. I nuked almost all of my social media accounts 5 years ago, but I now want to make friends with people with similar interests here on Good Reads! I love the thriller genre and would love to have friends who enjoy talking about books and have great recommendations!

My name is Danielle Sillings. I live in Ohio, near Columbus. I am a registered nurse and have a doctorate in nursing.
My husband and I have been married for 21 years and we have a 20 year old daughter.
I adore reading, especially thrillers. I also enjoy multiple crafts such as crochet, scrapbooking, painting, and decorating. My perfect life would be living at the beach, oceanfront with all the money I would ever need so I can spend my days reading on the beach and crafting on an oceanfront balcony.

I'm a big fan of Freida McFadden, Riley Sager, and Karin Slaughter.

Welcome Mitch! Nice to e-meet you, as they say. My name is Pat, and I'm in central Mexico-have been for 20 years-and originally I'm from California. I'm a big fan of Lee Child, David Baldacci, and Clive Cussler, and I also write action thrillers.

I'm a surveyor, I own a sea kayak, live within a stone's throw of the briny and luckily work in coastal surveying.
I yearn for fiction that asks me think: join-the-dots, figure what is happening, where the plot is taking me.

Nice to meet you, Mark! Super jealous of your living by the water.

I'm heading south as soon as I can. I've stopped going out in the evenings: where I'm living, it's not safe.
Books are where I'll be for the foreseeable. Making friends would be good for me.

I used to love reading when I was younger and life got in the way.
I started to read again a few years ago, mainly sticking to Martina Cole books until I found booktok and it took over my life.
I only really read mystery/thrillers and have a huge list to get through after joining various thriller groups and on recommendations.
I own my own business and have 2 older teens so trying to cram in as many reads in my spare time.
