Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Haha! Whenever someone says "Bananas" i think of that song from despicable me! Caitlyn used to be obsessed with it.

i haven't seen despicable me! basically if it's been released in the last 3 years 5 months, I'm unlikely to have seen it. I've watched the hunger games, catching fire, harry potter 7 (parts 1 and 2), tangled, and gnomeo and juliet. that's pretty shocking really.

i need to watch the host, and city of bones really bad :(

message 4208: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments I haven't watched it either, but she used to play the song on repeat.
Most of the movies i've watched was due to Caitlyn having the DVD!

message 4221: by [deleted user] (new)

I have not seen Frozen or The host yet along with several other of the bigger movies that have come out. Too bust with school/work. And when I do have free time I read cause I have no money to go to the movies.

message 4222: by Keith (new)

Keith Tempra (keithtempra) | 63 comments @Lindsey: i feel you! Instead of spending your money to a movie ticjet, why not buy it a food or a book right? Looks like i have to download those movies on torent asap. Lol.

I saw it last week end and I really enjoyed it but I wasn't as moved by the story as I thought I would be.

Heather | 10157 comments Inês wrote: "Oh, how great :) Do you have any idea about the genre? And what do you need? I can try to help :p"

I want it to be centered around a young girl that lives in a dystopian world. Another characteristic is that she doesnt trust anybody not even her mom. But I need help with like plot and character development

message 4231: by Inês (new)

Inês | 583 comments I've read a lot of dystopia lately, actually, I'm not a mastermind or anything but I can debate some ideas with you then :) You can message me or post here.

Sounds a bit like The Fury (The Fury, #1) by Alexander Gordon Smith they couldn't trust their parents either.
That one was so dull. :(

but mine is gunna have a witch twist in it. Do you have any other suggestions?

message 4235: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments All i know so far, is that you want to write a dystopian book with a girl that doesn't trust no one, which has a paranormal twist to it.

So there's not much to go on to be able to give you further ideas.

If you had more thought out, it would be easier to help you.

Heather | 10157 comments the love interest is Ben and he is trying to discover his ability to control the elements (earth air fire water) But, her parents won't let her date him due to his family's history of being posessed by some evil spirit

message 4237: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments If she doesn't trust anyone.. why does she trust him enough to want to date him?
You'll have to explain that, otherwise it'll be a huge plot hole.

Will it just be Ben that can control the elements? or will it be more like Storm (Elemental, #1) by Brigid Kemmerer where its genetic?

Inês | 583 comments Heather wrote: she has her doubts about him but then they fall in love and she begins to trust him during the process

Don't let her fall for him to easily then, insta-love sometimes is so boring, specially if the female character starts all hardcore and then with one look everything is hearts and butterflies.

And does everyone know about his family and the possession thing? like in The Secret Circle The Initiation and The Captive Part I (The Secret Circle, #1-2) by L.J. Smith ?

Heather | 10157 comments Sarah wrote: "Heather wrote: "the love interest is Ben and he is trying to discover his ability to control the elements (earth air fire water) But, her parents won't let her date him due to his family's history ..."

yes it's just Ben that controls the elements and it will be controlled by the society

message 4243: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Yeah, you'll have to do what Ines said.
Not just because of "insta love" but everyone will find it really hard to believe that she trusts no one - not even her mother.. but she trusts some guy who has powers and a history of being possessed.

Does he control them all.. or is there going to be other people he finds who each have one element Like Marked (House of Night, #1) by P.C. Cast ?

message 4247: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments Sophie doesn't trust Ben at all at first then the programming kicks in and something in her mind tells her to trust him

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Speaking about writing books. I'm writing one too. I need a title though. I have one in mind and suits the story so far,but I don't really like it.
