Barbara ★ Lisa Kay wrote: "Too bad about your Nook, Barbara★, but glad your are able to charge it at work. I'll have to check out Creepers."

Yup bad cable. Bummer. Guess I have to get another one. Well at least it wasn't the nook itself as that would have sucked.

message 1255: by Christina (new)

Christina (iceprincess) | 51 comments Nancy - Thanks! I've been working alot of slow night shifts lately which is great for reading. Plus, I have no life and spend all my free time reading. LOL

Lisa Kay - Thanks! I didn't read Splendor (Luxe, #4) by Anna Godbersen after all though. I just wasn't in the mood for it. I'm starting to think I may never finish that series.

This weekend I read Reaper's Property (Reapers MC, #1) by Joanna Wylde and Seven Years to Sin by Sylvia Day , both of which I really liked, and Weekends Required A Danvers Novel by Sydney Landon , which was just ok for me.

I just started Blood Red Road (Dust Lands, #1) by Moira Young and I'm liking it so far.

message 1266: by Renee (new)

Renee Okay I am hoping you guys can help me out. I remember reading a book where two of the minor characters had pretended to dislike each other all the while being engaged. I keep thinking it was in one of Jane Austen's books but I can't remember if it was or if it was a different book. Anyone have any ideas?

message 1267: by Melanie (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments It is a wonderful name. ☺

message 1274: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Sorry for being quiet guys, I don't even remember when I posted my last update.
So far I read three books this week: All Over You (Devoured, #0.5) by Emily Snow (which I liked) Devoured (Devoured, #1) by Emily Snow (which was more boring and disapointing after a great prequel) and Fractured Light (Fractured Light, #1) by Rachel McClellan (standard ya paranormal, nothing special). They all kinda have some white/whitish parts, but I will let Lisa Kay be the judge which ones can count for the challenge. :)

message 1275: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 2744 comments finished Inner Space (Inner Space #1) by Merlin Fraser which was interestingly different, reading New Myths of the Feminine Divine by Cynthia Joyce Clay

message 1276: by Skandia (new)

Skandia (sfgirl) | 1724 comments I finished The Look of Love (The Sullivans, #1) by Bella Andre - good steamy romance by Bella Andre and now reading historical mystery set in London The Hanover Square Affair by Ashley Gardner which is kind of ok.
Next will be Kristin Hannah book On Mystic Lake by Kristin Hannah
Looks like no white covers this week for me.

message 1277: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 2744 comments finished New Myths of the Feminine Divine by Cynthia Joyce Clay , on to Other Systems by Elizabeth Guizzetti

message 1278: by Christal (new)

Christal | 72 comments Just finished Warm Bodies (Warm Bodies, #1) by Isaac Marion . They did a good job with the movie adaptation too.

message 1279: by Vikki (new)

Vikki (silverstarz) | 1278 comments I finished Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles, #1) by Kami Garcia yesterday... I'm definately interested to continue with the series.

Started Bad Sisters by Rebecca Chance last night which has been on my to-read shelf for over a year & half. This is my first book by Rebecca Chance, the cover caught my attention in the shop. Promising start, hopefully it continues.

message 1280: by Nancy (new)

Nancy | 577 comments I finished Y A Novel by Marjorie Celona which was okay and Blood Red Road (Dust Lands, #1) by Moira Young which I really enjoyed. I think that's it for me for white bookcovers for the week. I've started reading Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross .

message 1281: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) Finished Shattered (Alaskan Courage, # 2) by Dani Pettrey - very good! :)

message 1282: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 999 comments Hi Everyone :-). It's been quite awhile since I've dropped in to say what I've been reading ~ since Feb. 14. I thought I would do a quick update just to let you know that I'm still here and contributing :-)

It's been a very busy reading month :-) Since the 14th I have finished, Anyone But You by Jennifer Crusie Splintered (Splintered, #1) by A.G. Howard (which I absolutely adored!) Among Others by Jo Walton Tell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt (another 5 star book in my opinion) Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert (which I enjoyed greatly) The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini Led By Faith Rising from the Ashes of the Rwandan Genocide by Immaculee Ilibagiza Home Front by Kristin Hannah and The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller (a beautiful book - 5 stars).

I am now at 30 books for this challenge. (I finished Name of the Wind also, but I started that one in Dec., so it didn't count here)

message 1283: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Ugh. Oh, I still have The Name of the Wind to finish, too, Cathie.

message 1284: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 999 comments Does that Ugh, lol, mean you didn't/don't like The Name of the Wind novel Lisa Kay?

message 1285: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Actually, I did like it, Cathie. What I read of it. I do like Fantasy, but I can only take so much of it. And the book is so long! I have two books on my "currently reading" shelf that I haven't given up on completely, both are Fantasy, both are "chunksters." Guess that tells me something. LOL!

How about you, did you like it?

message 1286: by Jess (new)

Jess (jesscatt) | 200 comments Finished House of Suns by Alastair Reynolds which was absolutely brilliant, will be done with Breed by Chase Novak tomorrow, and am working on getting through The Greatest Show on Earth The Evidence for Evolution by Richard Dawkins when I'm at home and An American Tragedy by Theodore Dreiser when I'm walking from point A to point B.

Barbara ★ Surprisingly this was a good read. It really makes you appreciate the American military! On Call In Hell A Doctor's Iraq War Story by Richard Jadick -

I have three ongoing Delusion in Death (In Death, #35) by J.D. Robb (audio) Unnatural (Archangel Academy, #1) by Michael Griffo (nook) and The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton (dtb).
Delusion is great. Unnatural not so much. Andromedia really good.

message 1290: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 2744 comments finished Other Systems by Elizabeth Guizzetti , blew me away!

message 1291: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 999 comments Hi Lisa Kay ~ I liked The Name of the Wind. I gave it 4 stars, only because there were so many questions left unanswered. I don't like it when an author only writes part of story, making you have to buy additional books in order to find out what is hinted at in the first book.

message 1292: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Well, true. However, my library has all of them. ☺ I don't mind some unanswered questions. My big thing was the size of the book, though I thought it well written.

I usually tackle "chunksters" and even enter the challenge in RRRC group several times a year. However, I have too much going on in my Real Life right now to immerse myself in one right now. I don't think I've started one since I did this one.

message 1293: by Cathie (last edited Feb 28, 2013 01:07PM) (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 999 comments Yeah I have the 2nd book on my bookshelf too The Wise Man's Fear but it is even chunkier at almost 1,000 pages. Kvothe sure does like to talk about himself, lol.

I don't do well with chunky reads; takes me forever to finish them up.

What's the RRRC group, Lisa Kay?

message 1295: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 999 comments Ah, i see, with a smile :-)

message 1296: by Kme_17 (new)

Kme_17 | 453 comments i forgot to put that I finish Dear Zoe by Philip Beard a wonderful read but very sad but so well written

message 1297: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 999 comments I finished reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern today. Excellent book! 5 stars.

message 1298: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ Finished both The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton and Unnatural (Archangel Academy, #1) by Michael Griffo today.

Still working on Delusion in Death (In Death, #35) by J.D. Robb (audio) and starting The Paperbark Shoe by Goldie Goldbloom tomorrow.

message 1299: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 1222 comments I finished Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Vol. 2 by Nancy Holder last night. Think that's the first book I've finished in at least a week, possibly longer.
Hopefully, I'm getting towards the end of my 'training' at work which means I'll be able to sort of set my own hours and not still be working at 18.30, and therefore have time in the evening to read :) I do love what I do but I think I have a slightly different idea of good working practice to the girl who's teaching me!!
