*I nod* Lets get in there and see what we can find. *I let my claws slide forward as I step farther into the ship, one of the cats sitting beside the man, saying that she will wait with him then catch up to us*

* Mike nods...asks Knight the dog to stay with the cat and moves on.The ship is a mess. Bodies are everywhere as is debris. Equipment hangs down from wires. The ship designed to operate with artificial gravity looks a little odd with some things attached to what now appears to be the "roof". A few crew members are alive and these Mike and Lacy attach radio markers to so they can be found.
Soon they approach what would have been the command deck. *
*I slow my pace as we near it, readying myself for anything. I glance back at you then edge my way around some large debris. I look around for a moment then jump when I hear something shift*
Crap...it would have so much simpler if none of them were in there...at least, awake. I guess we've had too long a run of good luck, you think?* Mike checks his weapon and moves forward...they'll have to either shift debris or blast a hole in a wall to get through. *
[Hi had a ministerial group meeting tonight. Out late :)]
I guess so. And I was so enjoying our good luck too. Maybe it was just some debris shifting and meant nothing at all? *I walk over to the wall and push, the wall moving under my hands* Hey this wall moves on its own. It must be weak because of impact *The wall moves again, crumbling as something hits it from the other side, the wall falling towards me. I squeal, throwing my hands up*(Early bed for me tonight. So tired...night)
* Mike dives for Lacy attempting to knock her aside. *[night]
*I turn my head, my eye closed as the wall fell on top of me, crumbling farther around me but also covering me, you being inches away but not fast enough to stop it from happening.*
Crap....* Mike calls for help as he rolls up to look past the collapse to see 3 armored figures holding blasters. There's a short exchange of fire. Mike get's these 3 quickly but there are others who had been trapped in the room. Mike is pinned down behind some debris by heavy fire and can't get to Lacy.
After a few seconds there's a muted blast and the attackers fade back apparently having blasted an opposite wall.
Mike rushes forward and begins to dig to get to lacy.*
*As you dig, my hand falls free from some debris,letting u know that you are getting closer to where I am buried, some blood trickling off a couple of my fingertips*
* Once Mike gets Lacy free he checks her over for broken bones and other injuries. None are obvious but he can't tell about internal injuries. Soon Riddick arrives with a stretcher and then two carry her out and get her onto a shuttle and back to the ship Tor setting on the stretcher and other animals crowding around the whole trip. *
*My eyes flutter open and I look around, startled and confused. Finally my eyes settle on you and Riddick and it calms me. I smile a small painfilled smile* Our luck...ran out...on not getting hurt...too I guess... *I flinch and start to cough, coughing up blood*
Easy, easy.... * Mike fits a life mask onto her*Lay back now we're going to have to get you on life support and see how much internal damage there is. Then the Ranger will see about repair. I told you she's a doctor right?
* Mike gets her on life support and the readings start...Mike stands and squeezes her hand. *
*I weakly squeeze your hand back before I close my eyes, coughing again, more blood coming up. The readings tell you that four of my ribs are broken and my left lung had been punctured by my rib along with a few other organs having even traumatized from the wall falling on me.*
* Mike smiles at her reassuringly and holds a "thumbs up" sign for her. Then leans back to Riddick and the Ranger**whispers* crap.. get her under and get that lung repaired. She should heal up pretty fast if we get those bones back in place.
They sedate Lacy and quickly begin repair using ship's systems.
*After several hours of you and the others repairing my wounds, I am finally closed and resting, no longer coughing and my breathing beginning to stabilize. I sleep for several more hours. Tor sits beside me then looks at you, pushing gently on your mind, asking if you were going to go back down while I rested*
No...I'm here. I think Riddick is taking a group of volunteers from the fleet here down.
*Tor nods his head and lays down, raising his eyes to watch me. He sighs heavily and lets his eyes slowly close. I slowly turn my head to the side, moaning quietly, my eyes fluttering open.* Mike?
Right here...* Mike squeezes her hand and leans forward to kiss her forehead* Just rest you broke some ribs, but we heal fast.
*I scrunch up my face* Still hurts...
I know and just as soon as it's safe I'll kiss you everywhere it hurts and make it all better, but right now just let yourself heal.
*I smile slightly at your comment doing my best not to giggle.* Deal...hey how come your not on the planet going after the ones still on the ship? They're still down there...
Riddick's down there and he has some volunteers. I'm here...I just needed some rest. I'm not as resilient as you are, I need lots of rest.Come to think of it I've been allowing the Ranger to feed the animals.
*I look at you worriedly* You don't think that the changes are slowly deteriorating your insides or anything?
* Mike looks exasperated and kisses her again*No...I was trying to be gallant and not say I'm staying here with you because I'm concerned about you. See, you were supposed to pick up on that and play along, it's a man thing. I'm not really tired.
* Mike grins and gives her a long but gentle kiss*
*I break the kiss and weakly hit your arm* Don't scare me like that...you got me all worried thinking something was wrong!
.....* Mike looks back at her with his left eyebrow raised*Well, only that you had a wall fall on you, several ribs broken, some internal bleeding, a punctured lung... So, you thought something was wrong, wonder what gave you that idea?
*I make a face at you and close my eyes* I'm just glad that the wall didn't fall on you...and that you aren't dying from your changes...you scared me when you said you were tired.
* Mike shakes his head and looks around for the first time since they got back...and notices something odd. He looks again and the looks closer at the dogs. *
*I open my eyes and look at you. I notice the look on your face* Mike? What's wrong?
You know Tor's little friend?
*I try to sit up but only gasp painfully* What about her? Yes it's a girl.
Well she came with us..and she apparently brought another friend....* Mike gestures toward another "dog" sitting among the other animals. He or she looks pretty much like some kind of retriever except it's crested with a crest of stiff hair up it's back and over it's head. It sits and looks at us, it's tongue hanging out in a doggy grin. *
*I place my hand over the bed, waving the new dog over* He is so cute! They were born together apparently. And they are both only 5 months old. But they don't have names and they want you to name them, Mike.
Hummm.....maybe just ask them what their names are?
Like they told me they want you to name them. *I close my eyes again* I feel so tired...
Right now sleep. And don't rush things. * Mike kisses her* Goodnight...so to speak.
*I suddenly sit up.* Riddick! Mike he needs help. The ones who shot the wall down in me...he and the others are under attack. *I gasp from sitting up while healing and lay down, breathing hard* Mike...they..need your...help.
Oh crap...stay here! Do not try to come down there till you completely, 100% well! Ranger...tie her up if you have to.Lacy, I know you want to come but you can't. You can help though. * Mike tosses her a communicator* Let me know where Riddick is as I'm on my way down.
* Mike runs to the pod bay and launches out in a fighter*
*I hold the communicator close* Riddick...they aren't in the ship...they are 20 yards....*my eyes roll up and he communicator dropped to the floor as I pass out from moving too fast for my injuries earlier*
Crap....* Mike calls the Ranger to care for Lacy** Mike picks up several signals from below and the signatures or weapons fire. He strafes the area firing on Riddick and his people.
Then he gets a massive reading*
Oh, crap...
* Mike smashes the emplacements holding the others down but then his ship is hit by a laser cannon and it careens into the ground. He staggers out a somewhat bloody mess in torn clothes and armor and the entire area dissolves into a confused but withering firefight. *
*The Ranger checks my vitals, not liking how my pulse was slowing down. She tries to contact you on the communicator to see how you were fairing.*
* About 30 minutes later Riddick arrives and installs Mike in the bed next to Lacy. He says that we wiped out the opposition but for some reason Mike was very upset about something. Unfortunately Mike had taken several bad hits. *
*The Ranger quickly hooks you up to the life support, worriedly looking from you to me, my face having gone pale. The Ranger gently touched your arm, letting you know that he was there before she began to clean and dress your wounds*
* Mike's body settles in on life support. He and Lacy now depend on their improved metabolism and increased healing speed to recover from their injuries. *
*Tor whimpers as he watches us both resting. My color slowly comes back. The Ranger does another X-Ray to see that my ribs were healing. She then turns to you, whispering in your ear that I was healing and that my pulse is back to a more decent pace. She then said it was time for you to heal up so you could wake up and be with me, resting in our room together*
* Mike is stable. He had several blaster burns and some of his armor had melted into his skin in places. Several of his bones were bruised but hadn't broken, probably because of their increased density. The Ranger tells Tor to tell lacy that Mike will more than likely be alright but his body is healing itself and he's in a deep unconsciousness. Once his body takes over from the life support he should come around.All 3 of the dogs, including the new one from the alien planet along with 3 cats are trying to get on Mike's bed or stay near it. Tor rests by Lacy's head and the small bat-winged kitten zips around over her. *
[A friend of my daughter's who moved back to WV to live with her parents a year or so ago because she had cancer just passed. Bonnie got the word on her phone. The girl was only 37. Hard on her folks, I hate cancer.]
(Oh no...I'm so sorry to hear that. And I agree I hate cancer too. I wish dumb doctors would go back to using natural things like Turmeric...its supposed to be safe natural cancer fighter seasoning)
*I moan lightly and open my eyes after a few more hours* Mike? Riddick?
* Riddick Comes in his arm in a sling and a bandage on his head. He pats your hand and tells you Mike will be alright. *
