It's great that we have so many choices now when it comes to reading, Valerie. We love that you have tried so many different ways to read.

Sandy | 8 comments Hardcover (my favorite is paperback). My daughter has a nook but I just cant get into it. I just love going to book exchange stores & looking through all the paper backs. That is how I find different authors.

Deana | 1 comments E-reader would have been my preference, but I wanted to share it with my Mom, so I bought the hardcover. As soon as I finished the book I immediately went to the post office and sent it to her. Can't wait to discuss it with her!

You took the words right out of my mouth! Your entire comment also described me and my feelings. I like my tablet at night when reading in bed next to my husband. No need for a book light and page turning doesn't bother him. But on a spring afternoon sitting on the porch swing...a real book is what I want.

message 329: by Beth (new) - rated it 3 stars

Beth | 3 comments Love hardcover. Nothing like the feel of a book!

Danielle Gentilini | 3 comments I fought hard against getting an ereader because I absolutely love reading actual books ... everything from the smell to the feel to be able to add them to my stacks of read books. But 1st I received the Nook as a present and enjoyed because not only could I borrow books from my friends instantly (which helps bc we live hundreds of miles apart) and also because it wasn't as impersonal as I thought it would be. Now that I've upgraded to the Kindle Fire I really do love it. It's so nice to see a book that you want to read and instantly it's available to you. But none of that compares to sitting in a used book store and browsing through old titles and the smell of old books. That is something that computers cannot replace.

message 331: by Sharon (new) - rated it 3 stars

Sharon E reader

message 332: by Lory (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lory Sakay | 8 comments Reading all the time, everywhere thanks to the flexibility and portability of my kindle. I never leave home without it.

message 333: by India (new)

India (indifendiii) I prefer books. I love the smell of a bookstore! I love browsing rows of endless titles until I find the perfect book. Nothing beats of the warmth that comes from opening a new(or used) book and reading it for the first time! But I do love the convenience and variety that an e-reader allows. If I had to absolutely choose on option, it would be a book!

message 334: by Awais (new)

Awais Hanif (awaishanif) E-reader

message 335: by Kelsye (new)

Kelsye | 1 comments I guess a tablet (nook) and hardcover/book.

message 336: by Christa (new)

Christa | 2 comments I have the kobo original ereader and love it...but i do read the hardcover/paperback on occasion too

message 337: by Kathy (new) - added it

Kathy Hale (kahale) | 15 comments It realloy depends on where I am. At home I like a hardcover or a paperback. If I'm waiting at an office or on the train then an e-reader is better.

Danielle Gentilini | 3 comments India wrote: "I prefer books. I love the smell of a bookstore! I love browsing rows of endless titles until I find the perfect book. Nothing beats of the warmth that comes from opening a new(or used) book and re..."

My thoughts exactly! It wasn't until I read this discussion thread that I realized I wasn't the only person who LOVED the smell of books ... the older the better! Holding a book is comforting to me but I also have grown to love the convenience of my kindle. I also like how you can highlight parts of a book or look up a word instantly. There are pros and cons to them both :)

Lorrea - WhatChaReadin'? (whatchatreadin) Usually, I prefer to read on my e-reader, but I will be reading Twelve Tribes in hardcover.

message 340: by Stacy (new)

Stacy Read | 1 comments Hey All, I am reading hardcover I purchased from the USA. However, I would have preferred the e-book with Oprah's notes but unfortunately it is not available to purchase in Australia :( i would love to see this changed and know it is possible because the first book Wild (2.0 with O's notes) is available on Amazon. I am enjoying the book and am excited to be apart of the group. Kind regards, Stacy

Diana L. Walker | 1 comments I love my Kindle. I can read anywhere without fumbling around with a book. That said, I still have plenty of books on my shelves!

message 343: by [deleted user] (new)

I wanted to see what all the hype was about a kindle. So I ended up getting one for christmas. I will admit, I like the features... Especially, how easily it is to download a book. But there is something about a paperback... I love holding a paperback and reading in bed with a paper back. So I guess my answer is a paper back book.
