I read book one and two in July I think. And I've read Once Burned with Sheri and Leigh. That's it.
And 96 minus 28 ... is still A LOT.But, the end is in sight. For better or worse.

Hmmm…what to say? Cat and Bones are definitely hot together.
What I like about Bones is that he manages to be hot and bad and kinda just ... smoldering (haha) but still sensitive and truly likable.Compare to say ... Vlad? I mean, yes, we always find things to like in our stoic male lead who seduces the lady with his strange self-assuredness.
But Bones is not terribly stoic. He's FUN.
He's like Hazael as a sexy, accented vampire man.

So I really liked this book. It was a bit different from what I was expecting. I guess I'm not really sure what I was expecting, but Cat was much more…innocent, naive, human maybe, than I had thought. I'm sure Bones will be changing that :) I wonder what Bones is going to think about her working with the government. Nothing good can come of that, I'm sure. I cannot wait to get to the next book now. I seriously love books that make me laugh. Twice this morning I laughed out loud and scared the poor dog (Leigh) who was laying with me, and then my daughter wanted to know what was so funny – she's 4, so I didn't explain to her about stuffing the vampire in the closet. I didn't want to give her nightmares :)
Oh how I hate Cat's mother. She just needs to die and get it over with. Poor Cat, living with all that guilt of something that was never her fault. Cat just needs to tell her off once and for all and be done with it. I'm glad she finally had the balls to yell at her and make her realize it was partly her fault for encouraging Cat go after the vamps in the first place…
I thought it was interesting when her mom brought up the point of Bone's possibly wanting to change Cat. I had not even thought about that, I guess because Cat is already half vamp. Don't tell me if she gets changed later or not…but maybe if she keeps drinking his blood she would stay young?? Oh yeah, and Bones showed a lot more emotions than the tough alpha male usually does in these types of books. I'm not sure if I liked that or not.
I think one of the things that makes me love Bones so much is that he isn't afraid/embarrassed/ashamed to show how he feels. He's so insanely confident and secure in who he is and I love that. I just think it's so awesome to have a strong, tough leading man who takes no crap from anyone but isn't broken or borderline abusive. I was so angry at Cat's mother by the end of the book! I wanted to smack her and shake her. Ugh.
Are we buddy reading the whole series, or just this book? I want to read these again so bad now that I might have to blow off my December pick it for me challenge book. ;-)

I agree with that. It seems there's always a 'why' behind the actions. Though I've only read the first book so don't have a deep understanding of Bones yet, he seems just to take his own advice...he accepts himself and doesn't apologize for it.
I wouldn't mind going through the whole series. What do you guys think? We talked about doing the whole series, but nothing was ever decided. Leigh, how many of the series have you read already? Or are you re-reading?

I didn't read all the comments cause I will be finishing this book shortly then I'll read the thoughts &add my own. I had a really busy day yesterday & unfortunately didn't have time to read.:( but I assume we will be choosing one of the books from below next? I'll post in a couple hours and see what book you guys choose, or if you haven't chosen yet which one looks most interesting :)

Yay! Lys is back :) I really liked Halfway to the Grave. The romance was truly erotic, & gods Bones is sexy! Blimey how did this series evade my radar for so long? I'm glad my eyes don't glow green when I'm aroused or I would need to wear sunglasses 's while reading this among other books. My face would look like Christmas decorations, between the red flush on my cheeks & my eye's glowing green:)

Hey Leigh, you seem to really be into those audible's... It's really making me curious to try it. Have you ever tried the whisper something option? The thing that lets you listen when you want & it synch's to the spot of the e-reader version? That would be perfect ... If I could figure out how to do it;) oh, completely off topic ... What does HEA stand for? It was used in this sentence ..."even though the ending was HEA I enjoyed it enough to give it 5 stars" ? I've read it before but it's really beginning to nag at my brain. I also can't stand Cat's mother! She says the vamp that raped her & all vampires in general are monsters, I'm surprised that when she looks in a mirror she doesn't see the creature that she is. I sympathize for the unfairness she endured w/small town idiocy as far as single parenting, & labeling. That doesn't chance the fact that she has been terrible.filling her head with all her [Cat's mothers] ridiculous crazy.
I'm looking forward to barreling forth onto the next one :) just tell me when we start. I'm in the middle of reading a book that I have to review but I'm wrapping that up.
Is the book by J.Frost that's called "Night Huntress 1.5 " have anything do do w/the series we're reading?

We don't read the 0.5, 1.5, etc. necessarily, but go ahead :) I usually don't because I'm usually disappointed in them. I had read them all for the Sookie Stackhouse series but stopped because they never had anything to do with the story and were usually just...bleh.
Do you guys think we should make a new thread for each book or just keep it all in this one?

Sheri, I think we need to start a new thread that way whoever might want to join will know what book we are reading.
I'd think a new thread would be easier for other people that want to read. I'll also try to stop spamming/ high jacking the thread. I'm sorry about that . Sheri- i totally agree with those mini books or novellas from the Sookie books, along w/ a few other series I read.
