The main character remains in New Orleans Parish throughout the entire book. His wife and kids flee to family in Baton Rouge which the book states is 50 miles away. Later she goes to stay with a friend in Arizona for a couple of days. However that part of the book is not more than 10%. I listened to it as an audible book of 10 hours and some odd minutes and the part about AZ wasn't nearly an hour.
