Okay well I started on the weekend I saw A Study in Pink and The Blind Banker and they were amazing just so awesome fantastic and funny and mind blowing.
I keep seeing Bilbo though.
Ok I need some info here so my friend told me there's an episode with a prostitute and I was wondering how far that episode goes. Because Sherlock is rated M, and I watch with my mum, plus I have a little brother, so if that episode goes a bit weird she probably won't find it appropriate. So can you guys please let me know if that episode is appropriate for teenagers and also what its called, thanks :)

I love that episode...very funny

I love Cumberbatch's portrayal of Sherlock. Freeman is a good foil for him without coming off like an idiot. He makes a likeable and good Watson.
I am, however, perplexed by the camera work and someone's love of having random soft focus shots of scenery. I don't understand the overuse of the soft-focus filters. It seems completely unnecessary and serves no story-telling purpose whatsoever and it is distracting! *grumble*

Besides, I was too busy drooling over Benny in the newest Star Trek movie. :)
My brother is ten. He might not be there though. When you say she's naked for half the episode, a) do you see anything innapropriate? and b) is that all I have to worry about?

I don't think there's anything to be really worried about. However, I'm not a parent so I don't know if your parents would freak out over this episode. Also, my moral compass is less likely to spin madly over beautifully flawless, voluptuous flesh in a scene that's not particularly sleazy or cheap. :)
I probably wouldn't let a 10-year-old boy watch it, but again, it really depends on how the family as a whole handles these types of things. I have a friend who lets her kids watch whatever they want (I don't necessarily agree with this) and the kids seem perfectly fine to me.
There's nothing particularly salacious in the episode and everything was tastefully done, in comparison to that dominatrix episode from CSI which had no nudity and definitely more tease in it. If you were allowed to watch that episode (assuming your family watches CSI at all), then this episode should be totally fine.
I rather liked the episode and I was amused by the Bee Gees scene.

Edit: One of my little hot topics - arbitrary value systems. You can see my scorn for the people who decide these ratings. :D
I view these ratings more as suggestions than a hard rule. Ultimately, it should be up to the parent to decide what is appropriate for their kids to watch. Not that all parents are able to make wise decisions, but ah well. We're pretty resilient beings as a human race.
Another edit because I forgot to add: Totally agree with Ebony in that if your family would not be very accepting of nudity (even if tastefully covered), then it would be best for you to skip this episode altogether.
Perhaps have your mother preview the episode first so she can decide if it's something you can watch or not.

I find that PG-14 can be extremely varied. Some of those have such a small amount of adult content it could be considered PG, easily. Yet others seem like they should be at least 16+. People need to rate things wiser.
Thanks guys youre all awesome thanks so much
I think what I'll do is tell her about it then she can make up her mind

What we did (although we weren't expecting all that stuff we mentioned) was just watch the episode once so we have the info, but not rewatch it when we rewatch the seasons. And I don't think we ever actually told our parents much… since we borrowed the DVDs it didn't seem important…. Hmmmm
I want to start watching it =D sounds interesting
