Emily (lafillebrigitte) | 1085 comments Ah, ok, I see a priority difference between us. You remind me a lot of my sister :)

Sometimes during a semester it's hard to have a social life, get good grades, give 100% at work and an internship. Therefore one goes to the bottom of the list. But now that schools out for two months time I have fun outside the house and school.

Elysia (elysia_rae) I just finished ''A Scandal in Belgravia'' with my mom and it was very cool! Sherlock is probably one of my favorite TV shows currently, it's very neat. Watson is my favorite character and Mrs.Hudson is my second! Sherlock is a very cool series indeed.

THIS SHOW IS PERFECT. It's my third favourite thing EVER! The only reason it's not first or second is because those spots are being used for Doctor Who and Star Trek. In that order.

message 55: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) | 1085 comments It's definitely number two on my list, second to Doctor Who as well!
And Watson is my favorite character :)

Tiffany | 116 comments I love the BBC Sherlock. It will be a long, long wait until the 3rd season so I'll have to re-watch the first 2 seasons over and over and....
I'm filling in the time watching Doctor Who (I'm a new Whovian). Started with David Tennant, and now onto Matt Smith.
I think Cumberbatch should be the next Doctor.

But, not until we get at least one more season of Matt.

message 57: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) | 1085 comments It would be really weird to see him as the Doctor! I've only known him as Sherlock....

Sinda Quietus (superwholockedtrekacrossthestars) | 553 comments Mod
If he were going to play 12 we wouldn't get a Sherlock/ Doctor Who crossover though....

message 59: by Axela (new)

Axela | 415 comments But guys. He's naturally ginger.

The only objection I have is that I would be watching Doctor Who and be like, "LULZ Sherlock, WTF are you doing?!"

Sinda Quietus (superwholockedtrekacrossthestars) | 553 comments Mod
True.

message 61: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) | 1085 comments On the plus side, he would be very different than our last two Doctors

message 62: by Sidnee (new)

Sidnee I think it would be AWESOME if he played the Doctor, the Doctor has been progressively getting a little bit darker and more bitter. I think the Ben could pull it off.

message 63: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany | 116 comments Matt Smith had auditioned for the part of Watson before getting the Doctor. Apparently, Moffat thought Matt was "a bit barmy" and "clearly more of a Sherlock Holmes than a Dr. Watson." Two Sherlocks? Sounds good to me. Or the Doctor could regenerate as Sherlock....

Sherlock should be the twelfth doctor who used a chameleon arch to become human! There's bound to be a watch in that flat somewhere.

WHAT THIS IS BRILLIANT

message 68: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) | 1085 comments I love it! Of course the Doctor isn't a literal god, it makes a great quote

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi all! My name is Sherlock and I'm a Dr.Who fan. So, I pretty much had to join this thread! :)

message 70: by [deleted user] (new)

YOUR NAME IS SHERLOCK???????!!!!!!?????? OMG, THAT'S LIKE THE MOST EPIC THING EVER!

message 71: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) | 1085 comments Did you know in the early 1900s there were two brothers named Mycroft and Sherlock Holmes?

message 72: by Sinda (new)

Sinda Quietus (superwholockedtrekacrossthestars) | 553 comments Mod
That's brilliant! I think it's AMAZING that your name is actually Sherlock.

message 73: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 24, 2013 05:32PM) (new)

I am from a whole family of Sherlocks. And I even write Sherlock Holmes/Doctor Who pastiches. Sort of Dr.Who type stories but with Sherlock Holmes instead of the Doctor as the one who must save the world from aliens. :)

Incidentally, I think Benedict Cumberbatch would be a great Doctor. His mother, in real life, is Wanda Ventham. She was in Dr.Who, ofcourse (The Faceless Ones and Image of the Fendahl...and Time and the Rani) but she also played a character called Virginia on Gerry Anderson's "UFO". And I named my daughter after her. So...get this...my daughter is Virginia Sherlock...after a character played by Benedict Cumberbatch's mother! The coincidences do my head in!

message 74: by Marlene (new)

Marlene Ocampo (seeyouspacecowboy) Benedict's mum was in Time and the Rani? :O Ze connections!

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

Six points of seperation, eh?

message 76: by Tiffany (last edited Feb 25, 2013 06:00AM) (new)

Tiffany | 116 comments Adrian. Please send Doctor Who/Sherlock script ideas to Steven Moffat. I beg you. Pretty please.

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

Tiffany, maybe I could get him to use my book as a basis for a series. My book is about a "Scotland Yard of Time and Space" which "manifests" Sherlock Holmes as a real, flesh and blood man, from the data stored in books and movies and TV shows and appoints him to investigate time disturbances and save the world. :)

message 78: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany | 116 comments Cool:)

Is it an actual book? Like one that would be bought at a bookstore?

message 80: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 25, 2013 10:32AM) (new)

It's available as a paperback or a kindle edition download from Amazon. And anyone who is in the Kindle select online library service can borrow it and read it for free. I'm planning to write a series of them, I'm kind of modelling them on the Tom Baker era Dr.Who's because he dressed as Sherlock Holmes in one story and his stories would be the type of thing I could see Sherlock Holmes involved in...Mummies, Frankenstein...that stuff would make great Sherlock crossovers.

Sherlock Holmes, time-detective.

Every time I see The Reichenbach Fall I cry. People will just look at me and they're all "Why are you crying?" And I just look at them. They don't understand.
This show is just so amazing.

message 84: by [deleted user] (new)

How did you like Hounds of Baskerville? I thought it had a lot of Quatermass elements in it.

message 85: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm rewatching all the episodes. Right now I've just started season 1. I LOVE BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH!

message 86: by [deleted user] (new)

I used to find his mother rather captivating too. Good old Wanda! But yes he's a GREAT Sherlock Holmes. But what about Johnny Lee Miller in Elementary? I think he's quite good in his own way. Not as charismatic as Benefict but very funny and engaging.

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

Darn autocorrect doesn't like Benedict's name I see! :(

message 88: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany | 116 comments I saw a few clips of Elementary and it looked quite good. Miller's Holmes isn't as compelling as Cumberbatch's, but might be worth watching anyway.

Interestingly, Miller co-starred with Jude Law (Watson) in the movie Love Honour and Obey and he and Cumberbatch played Frankenstein and his monster on stage.

And, of course, he was Angelia Jolie's first husband (1996 - 1999).

message 89: by [deleted user] (new)

I think you'd enjoy Elementary. The stories are good. Here in Australia, we have a new show called The Dr Blake Mysteries. The main character is a mix of Holmes and Sexton Blake. I really like it.

Meanwhile I'm busy writing my story about a modern day Holmes travelling back in time to Victorian London to catch a dangerous escapee from the future! :)

message 90: by Marlene (new)

Marlene Ocampo (seeyouspacecowboy) And if everyone loves Sherlock, ya'll should really watch the Jeremy Brett television show from the 80s. He is, and will always be, my Sherlock Holmes. Just like how everyone has their Doctor. Well, Jeremy is mine. His attention to detail, his bohemian passion, his dedication to the role, and how he perfectly matches the books! Jeremy Brett gave the world the most faifthful screen adaptation of the Great Detective, and I will never forget him.

message 92: by [deleted user] (new)

I watched some Jeremy Brett when I started researching Holmes for my first book and I found his performance remarkably precise and flawless. He's very impressive and has a distinctive and unusual style. He was regarded as the finest Holmes of his era.

message 95: by [deleted user] (new)

We're lucky to be in an age where Sherlock Holmes is back in action! If anyone is interested, I've just uploaded a preview of my new Sherlock Holmes novel "Phantom from the future" to my personal profile page.

message 97: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol! Nice one. I watched Robert Downey Jr's movie tonight. Grabbed the Blu Ray today. Not as good as Benedict's version but a cool movie all the same.
