I just bought like 6 or 7 Heyers.

message 205: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 215 comments I still haven't read any Heyer books! I actually only heard about her last year.
I had a terrible email today... Half Price Books is doing their percentage off coupons next week, and I'm not able to go there because the closest one is in Ohio...pout...
The last book from my first-ever Amazon order, "The Lilac Sunbonnet" by S.R. Crockett, is on my dresser waiting for me to read it. As soon as I finish, I'm going to buy another Amazon card and order more!

Nicole D. (thereadingrebel) | 1278 comments Alice wrote: "which is your fav or tied to fav besides Frederica, Nicole?"

Cotillion(which I think you already read).I was laughing so hard.Sprig Muslin is really funny and great also.I started Beauvallet but stopped it because I was on a romance burn out. It's her only pirate story.Venetia was really great and a really great romance. The Convenient Marriage so funny and the hero is one of my favorites of her's.My goodness she is just so good I can't decide which order my favorites are.

message 216: by Sophie, The Romantic Moderator :) (new)

Sophie | 2550 comments Mod
Cotillion is great! I really need to read some more Heyer's! I have three sitting on the shelf waiting! I will read one as my next book - Venetia I think. Or the Corinthian. What do you think Nicole or Alice? Which one?

message 217: by Nicole D. (new)

Nicole D. (thereadingrebel) | 1278 comments I think you would love them both.It depends do you want a more love story or an adventure with a love story. If you want more of a love story go with Venetia and more of an adventure with love story go with The Corinthian.

message 237: by Beth (last edited Mar 19, 2013 03:22PM) (new)

Beth (bbulow) Yeah, definitely! Birdy is quite the spunky heroine. I've read it more than once over the years (haha, I make it sound like I'm up in years--I'm 24).

I also liked The Midwife's Apprentice, although it's a bit more sad and not quite as humorous.

message 238: by Beth (new)

Beth (bbulow) The mailman brought me A Noble Groom (thanks Bethany House!) and The Typewriter Girl (came from Paperbackswap.com).

Kim-Lost-In-A-Book I love thrift stores and used bookstores too! Evelyn, "From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler" is one of my all time favorite books!!

message 240: by Evelynn (new)

Evelynn (authorgirlev) | 450 comments @Kim N - Lost-In-A-Book: I sounded so cute, and I've found that a lot of Newbery books are really good, so I bought it and hope to read it soon!

Kim-Lost-In-A-Book yes I like a lot of the Newberry books too. I liked "Witch of Blackbird Pond" too but it's been many moons since I've read it so I don't remember much of it - just that I liked it when I read it lol.

But I've read "From the..." a couple of times - most recently in 2011.

Yes, I need a new bookshelf...I never give up books unless I dislike them. I'm constantly rereading something or other.
Still chipping away at my Christmas books...finished two more of them today.

This week I'm planning on getting a lot of reading done, it's Spring Break and I just had a surgery done on my nose (deviated septum, not a nose job!) so I have to lay low. Love the excuse to read a ton!
