Kate (kathrynlouwca) You are reading at least 10 books per a month... at this rate, you should read at least 120 books... you should push for 150!!!

message 152: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Becky wrote: "I certainly wouldn't object to being adopted by a kindly rich grandfather... even at 26!

Thanks... I think I'll make my 100 book goal... Might actually surpass it. Maybe!"

well if you find a rich grandfather, hopefully new evidence will be uncovered that we're long lost sisters.

message 153: by Joanie (new)

Joanie | 714 comments I love the idea of only reading from my personal shelves but I know I'd never be that disciplined! Even if I can resist buying books (which I can do from time to time) I still get the urge to check out new books from the library. You're doing great so far!

message 154: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Just wanted to say hi. Don't want you to think I have forgotten to cheer you on. (I haven't! Goooooo Becky!)

message 155: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Allison, I'd adopt you, you're younger than me! ;)

Joanie, It's difficult, but I'm doing it. I have done some trades, so I'm not 100% reading ONLY from my shelves, but I haven't BOUGHT anything since the end of December. Yet.

Kathryn, I have some long books coming up, so I'm not sure if I will be able to keep this pace up. We'll see!

message 156: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Becky wrote: "Allison, I'd adopt you, you're younger than me! ;)"

yessssss. I was adopted anyway you know, so I can double dip in the er...adopting pool? I guess :P

message 157: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) hey tell me when you're going to start Bleak House...I might read it with you.

Count of Monte Cristo too.

message 158: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) my Bleak House is sooooo ugly, I think thats the main reason I haven't already read it :P

message 159: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Oooh! OK. It will definitely be after the Spring Challenge is over. I'm not even sure if I will be able to finish, but I'm gonna try!

message 160: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) good, I don't really want to read it atm. hehehehe.

message 161: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) I didn't know that you were adopted, but heck yeah you can double dip!

My ad will read:
Newly rich adopted granddaughter of wealthy mysterious millionaire seeking long lost sisters and a brother. Only Viners need apply. ;)

Allison (inconceivably) Fiona wrote: "Boooooooooooooo"

shush.

message 163: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Allison, don't forget about me and The Loop! Count of Monte Cristo should be first, if you want, because it is such perfect, lovely, exciting, romantic, etc. book. The Loop, we don't know yet, but I can promise satisfaction with the Count!

neh, I want to read The Loop first.

message 165: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I sorta scanned CoMC in high school and hated it...dunno why, loooooove the movie (which I know is different)...so I do want to try again.

Allison (inconceivably) Becky wrote: "I didn't know that you were adopted, but heck yeah you can double dip!

I'm starting to believe we were all seperated at birth anyway :P even though our births are all rather er....scattered.

message 167: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Allison, you HAVE to try COMC again. You have to. Just. Go. I'm withholding my millions until you do.

;)

message 170: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) so you have read it? I saw it on your classic challenge.

message 171: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Yes I have. And I loved it. It was fantastic! You have to read the unabridged edition though.

message 172: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) yeah, I don't waste my time on abridged versions! *sticks literary snob nose up high*

message 181: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Kandice wrote: "Becky, you are making awesome progress!"

Thanks... I'm reading Lady Susan right now, and I just cannot seem to read more than two or three pages at a time. Last night we had a blackout, and I ended up reading the most consecutive pages I've read since I started that book... by flashlight!

It's not that it's not good, it really is, I just think that I wasn't really in the mood for it, and so my brain isn't focusing like it should. I'm going to try to read more of it today. Hopefully finish it. It's short.

message 182: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) And YAY! I can't wait for you to read O&C!

message 183: by Kandice (new)
