You have a huge list o.o

Twilight and New Moon are going to have to wait until I can get the rest of the series, which isn't going to be for a while.
Anne Rice though, hmmm... I haven't been able to finish a single one of her books. I was given Blackwood Farm my a friend, and only later did I realize that it was like #8 in a series. So that one might be a while!
My list is long, but I am working on whittling it down. I'm doing pretty well at it!

Carol, I WANT to like Anne Rice, but I'm not a big fan of her writing style (at least as far as what I've tried- and these were all several years ago, so I might be more receptive now: The Witching Hour, Lasher, Servant of the Bones, and Taltos). Her writing is descriptive to the point of distraction... I forget what is supposed to be happening because of how detailed she is in her descriptions! I will give her another chance one of these days though. I would like to read Interview with the Vampire.
Kathryn, I want a Kindle badly, but now I'm wondering about it. You can't tell the page numbers? How does that work? I know that it is supposed to keep your page for you, but what if you're trying to access a passage to reference something? You can't skip to the page you want? What about people who read the newspaper on it? Are they not able to skip to the different sections by page number?
Very weird. I might wait for a while if that's the case. Hmm...

Yes yes give her a change :D Since you read the Witching Hour series, the Blackwood Farm will be even better *cheering*

I made a list of the books I need to read before I can buy. 106 books. It's going to take me a while, but I've owned some of these for going on 5 years (or, gulp, more) without reading them.
Thank you for inspiring me.

I have a nice middle-ground going... I read fast enough to finish 2-3 moderate sized books a week, but at a pace that I can enjoy and think about the book as I go along.
I think that people who can read more than a book a day either have super-brains or they enjoy the story while it lasts and then promptly forget it!

It is thought-provoking, but since I am not really religious, I'm probably not the target audience for this kind of book (but then again, maybe I am), its probably not provoking the kind of thoughts that Lewis intended, haha.
I should reserve judgement until I've read more of it though. I'm still less than 50 pages in, so I should give it a chance. Its just not grabbing me yet.

I have some really long ones coming up though, so I don't think that I will be keeping up this pace for long. I just started "Roots", and then after that I have to read a classic for that challenge... Probably "Rebecca". I've been wanting to read that one for a while.

JS&MN was good, but not one of the best books I've read. There was far too much build-up and not enough STORY.

I have some really long ones coming up though, so I don't think that I will be k..."
Becky, I read Rebecca this December and almost wrote a paper on it for a class (I didn't because it would have been too similar to another paper i've written). I'd already watched the film for the same class, but nonetheless I thought it was a quick and enjoyable read, so I'll be eager to hear what you think of it.

becky i completely forgot it was a memoir and for now I am wondering why I thought it was depressing. I am just over hundred pages and don't find it depressing. even laugh sometimes.

*Grumbling about how ridiculously long it took me to finish such a short book*

Congrats! You're doing quite well.
