Same in Georgia. This spring has been crazy; warm one day, cold the next, rain and warm, sunny and cold... gah!

Yes, you did lol!

It's 11:42 PM, and I've just finished watching the Red Hot Chili Peppers perform on some award show. The energy they exude is amazing! By the way, did anyone notice the resemblance between the drummer (He's awesome, but I don't know his name) and Will Ferrell?

Night Kathryn! Sleep tight!

12:12 a.m. and been home from work long enough to put some fish filets and tater tots in the oven. Gonna read for a short while and go to bed. Feeling kinda down in the dumps a little and can't figure out why.

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments Aw Cindy that's no good :( Big hugs to you and hope you're feeling better soon. I hate when I feel like that. Yum, I love tater tots - hopefully they'll cheer you up a bit :)

Now you've got me thinking of food! I think I might make osso bucco tonight, I haven't had that for ages and Kathryn talking about lasagna has me in the mood for Italian!

It happens to all of us sometimes. I'm not gonna dwell on it too much but it does kinda bite.

message 3311: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Red Hot Chili Peppers ROCK!

Sorry to hear you're down, Cindy. I know the feeling. I usually try to read or watch something really comedic to take my mind to a happier place. I hope you feel better after some sleep.

1:44 a.m. EST tried snacking on carrots and cheese, but it just wasn't doing the trick, so I made some Hamburger Helper. My back is killing me now, but at least I'm not hungry any more! LOL Finished the first book in the Stacy Justice series, and it was just too chick lit for me... hoping the second will be better, but apparently this is another author that thinks "feisty" means being angry when someone saves your life because they were watching over you. *shakes head* I do NOT understand that "I will take care of me even if it kills me" mindset. I mean, gheesh... there is a difference between being steadfast, determined and strong, and just stupidly stubborn. Accepting help, letting someone watch over you, does NOT make you weak, nor does it mean they are "controlling" you! GAH! Anyway, I'm hoping the "long-lost sister" angle for the 2nd book will be a bit less annoying, but since the third book is Amazon vine and I'm now required to review them ALL... and these books MUST be read in order, I have no choice but to read the whole damn available series...

message 3312: by [deleted user] (new)

That's the only draw back to series reads that you are required to review. Sorry Katy, hopefully you can just trudge through them pretty quickly.

4:12 a.m. and I'm finally going to bed. Feel a bit better than I did earlier. Just get a little down in the dumps sometimes for no reason. Had a pretty productive last few hours. Fixed something to eat, washed dishes, straightened up the house a bit, and got some reading done. Guess I'll put a flashlight next to the bed as the storms start to roll in. They are forecasting some iffy weather this morning. Good night (or morning) my friends!

5:43amEST. Really groggy, even a shower and some coffee haven't helped me wake up. Been off the grid for a few days, head just not in a good place. Trying to get caught up with everyone on GR. Just starting to rain, expect maybe some hail with it. Supposed to rain all day. (Great--a muddy puppy to clean up every time he goes out!) It's turned into a big game for him--how to avoid the bucket. trying to make it a learning experience for him.
Decided to set some spring goals for myself. Mild exercise and some outdoor time every day. Teach the puppy to heel properly so I can be in charge and not him when we walk. Actually do some spring cleaning, a little at a time. I think all these things will help get my head back in the right place.
Happy Thursday all!

7:57AM Enjoying my first cup o coffee! Wanted to go back to sleep for about an hour, forget that, did not work. LOL Gonna prolly play online game with hub this AM, then finish my book.

Awww Kyle reading your post about Dixie. We had a heeler mix named Dixie, she passed away shortly after Christmas. We rescued her and she had a lot of issues but she came so far. She was almost 11 years old. We had her for almost 10 years of that. My heart is still so tender, we all miss her so much. She was a huge part of our family. So loyal and protective, mostly of Kayla. And then when Aeverie, my grandbaby came along she was also very protective of him.

Terri I am tird of all the rain and dreariness here. But today SUN! YAY! But right now only 38 outside. what the heck!

I know exactly how both of you feel. I had my cat, Sweetie, for over ten years...When I had to put her down....ugh...That was the HARDEST decision I have ever had to make in my life. I just didn't want her to suffer any longer. I still miss her, even though I've had Gizmo for five years now. She was VERY protective of me. I'm a huge animal lover, and when you lose a pet, it is a pain unlike any other. It probably sounds bad, but last night Giz-baby was curled up with me, and even though she is only five, I was thinking I don't want her to ever leave me. She and I have such a bond, and it really is like she thinks I'm her momma. I think pets' lives are way too short, and I know if they weren't, we wouldn't be able to have the other pets we've had in our lives, but it still sucks. :(

I agree Kathryn :( They don't get to spend enough time on this earth. We had a pit bull mix dog. Only had him for 2 years and he was diagnosed with Lymphatic cancer. He was real bad and it like a ton of bricks. The vet never even gave him a 50/50 chance so we decided to just have him put down. This was supposed to be Dixie's mate for life. :(

Now with our cat Bandit being 11 years old, I worry about him, but he is a fighter. A few years back he was diagnosed with Cystitis. It is a urinary problem. The vet said he would be on the meds for the rest of his life, but he beat it. And no meds for him. And he plays as much as he played when he was a kitten. He takes a little longer to lay down and get comfy but he is doing well. Neverthelesss it does not stop us as pet owners from worrying.

10:19AM About to run into town, have to run some errands. Then will come home and finish this book. I am so taken by it I hate to leave. But I also hate to take it with me and read when we go out because I feel like I am ignoring Randy because he can hardly read and drive. LOL

message 3329: by [deleted user] (new)

11:50 a.m. You'd be surprised just how many people I have seen read and drive. Scares the crap out of me. Animals, well my Juno got hit by a car and died instantly (I hope anyway) almost two years ago during the 4th of July festivities. It was actually a bit before (late June), but the fireworks spooked her and she busted out of the fence. Only four years old. I miss her so much. Gonna take a shower, wash some dishes, and read a little before work.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, Janie, sorry to hear about your loss. I remember Kyle telling us about Sox. It's so sad when we lose a pet and friend. Kathryn, I know exactly how you feel; my boys are closing in on 5 and 3 and I just don't even want to think about how fast the time is going.

Terri, sorry you've not been feeling quite right. I really understand the feeling. I've ended up off-the-grid for months at a time sometimes. Part of what the reviewing and editing do is to keep me from retreating like that again, even though I end up putting a lot of pressure on myself that probably isn't necessary.

12:25 p.m. EST Crawled out of bed about an hour ago after crashing hard about 3:30 this morning. Sat in the sun for awhile, and now I'm just clearing out my e-mail before I continue reading. There really is nothing wrong with the story other than it's just not my thing. The author has created a town that is just a little too wacky, and the main character is just a little too uptight while everyone around her is just a little too silly for my tastes, you know? Plus the whole, "I have to do everything myself and only I know best and how DARE you try to keep me from being killed!" attitude. Gah. That drives me crazy... Anyway, hubby actually is working a normal schedule today so once I send him off at 3 I'll probably take another wee nap; the last few days threw my schedule out the window and I'm quite tired now.

message 3331: by [deleted user] (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 12:31 PM. Started to read, but then realized I was getting a migraine. One of the triggers of my migraines is the weather changing like it has been. Looking forward to dinner tonight, and almost half way through my shift. Getting a little reading in.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Thank you Cindy and Chris! I get blind spots and something called aura, and those are some of the symptoms I get. I had blind spots earlier, so I just decided to stop it before it happened.

Chris-Excedrin makes a tension headache pain reliever, and it really works. I've had tension headaches, (when I was in college, LOL), so I feel your pain. Hope you feel better, too. What's for dinner tonight? I'm making breakfast!

message 3338: by Chris (new)

Thanks for the tip on Excedrine. I've been getting tension headaches every night for a few days so that would be great. This one just hit during work and not after. Hope your Migraine stays away and that you can enjoy the rest of your day.

I love that I am seeing results now. I feel so good about myself! Anyway for this next hour I am gonna finish my book.

Can y'all believe I have NEVER had a migraine? I rarely get simple headaches. I feel blessed because I know migraines are horrible.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Uh oh!!! What's wrong, Victor??

message 3347: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Migraines are the worst, Janie you really ARE very lucky to have not experienced them. I started having migraines when I was 5 or 6, to the point where my mom wondered if it was the weight of my hair and cut it off when I was 7 (that was the last time it was this long). I've tried all kinds of things for them. Acupuncture works really well on cluster migraines; I tried that when I was on day 6 of constant migraines and it kicked it right out. I've also taken various medications and herbs; Topamax helped prevent them, but there are some weird side-effects. Some people swear by a mix of feverfew, Magnesium and Vitamin B. I also have a tendency toward tension headaches - when I was living in Minnesota I had chronic daily headaches for several YEARS, it was awful! Chris, Excedrin really does work. I've tried all kinds of things to keep the headaches at bay, and Excedrin almost always rids me of simple headaches. Wal-Mart makes a generic version now, which will save you truckloads of money. Excedrin also has a "migraine-relief" formula that costs about twice as much... and as far as I can tell uses the exact same formula. What a rip-off!

Anyway, one of my migraine triggers is bananas of all the crazy things. If I feel on the verge of one, dark chocolate or red wine will set me off, but otherwise I"m fine with those. I have auras where I see little twinkles and colors at the edge of my vision, which then sort of tunnels in. It's a weird thing. Some people smell strange smells, or hear a whining in their ears. Migraines are all about the blood vessels in the veins expanding or contracting and then reversing quickly, so the treatment depends on which one you have, which is just crazy! Sometimes putting your head under hot water and then suddenly switching it to cold will help; sometimes coffee helps.

Anyway, babbling. Headaches are something I unfortunately know way too much about.

11:48 p.m. EST Had a lovely nap, and it was raining when I woke up. We've had some lightning and thunder - there was an enormous storm heading our way this afternoon with a massive cold front, so I imagine the weather will be a bit unsettled tonight. Have to check the weather maps in a mo. Finished my book and am now clearing out e-mail to prepare for the next book. Have a Tiger sleeping on my shoulder and Erasmus was using my leg as a pillow, but now he's having a drink.

Hope everyone is doing better!

11:16PM Well I had my workout, actually recovery, had my coffee, and now visiting GR and enjoying myself. So glad Kay brought me Reached. I will read this one and complete that series. It is a pretty good storyline. After that I am feeling some Masterton in my line up, with The Doorkeepers. And will go from there.
