Angie | 76 comments Its 10.10am here and I've been up for a while. I've just managed for the first time to get a photo into a thread, yay!! I've been trying for months but now I need to figure out how to make it smaller. There's always something else for me to learn. I'm useless at all that kind of stuff!

I'm still working on my shelves. I'm only just on the B's. Its going to take weeks.

GeneralTHC @7:35 AM

About to finish up BOY'S LIFE, probably read some more of Blood Meridian today, but not sure what else I want to read today. I just want to read the absolute best books--serious ones. I don't know why that has to be such a problem.

Yay Chuck on finishing Boy's Life!

9:05am EST. Right now I have so much good stuff to read that I'm going crazy--I want to read them all, NOW!! I also have 17 new books waiting at the library for me to pick up. For me it's always feast or famine. One book I'm reading (The Introvert's Way: Living a Quiet Life in a Noisy World) is fascinating. I've always felt there was something wrong with me since I'm so very introverted, but this book provides a whole different perspective. It's helped me to understand myself better. (And it's not one of those corny self-help books.) Off to do some laundry and make another pot of coffee. Happy Day everyone!

Kathryn my thoughts and prayers go with you.

I think my problem finding reads is having too much of a choice. I just cannot decide between them all.
I'm thinking about reading that new horror book: Snowblind by Christopher Golden or maybe that Laura Lippman book I've been seeing advertised: After I'm Gone by Laura Lippman . A new historical fiction book grabbed my attention last night: The Lie by Helen Dunmore . There's a new Robin Cook book out that looks good: Cell by Robin Cook . Or perhaps some literary fiction: This Dark Road to Mercy by Wiley Cash , The Book of Jonah A Novel by Joshua Max Feldman . I've been wanting to read The Lizard Cage by Karen Connelly for a while. That one about the kid in the woods and the bear that killed her family sounds good, too: The Bear A Novel by Claire Cameron . That one I mentioned yesterday I'm still unsure of: The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer . This might be good: Prayers for the Stolen by Jennifer Clement . There's several thrillers out that may be good GR's been advertising. Oooh, or maybe this one: The Ghost of the Mary Celeste by Valerie Martin . This other one by the guy who wrote SNOW FALLING FROM CEDAR's which I haven't read either has been gnawing at me: East of the Mountains by David Guterson . Heck, I think I'll just read them all ... but in what order? Ugh!!!

Haven't gotten much reading done the past few days; hope to catch up today.

I hope that everyone is having a good day!

message 9959: by [deleted user] (new)

6:13 p.m. and I have a LOT of catching up to do. Not going to allow myself to stress about it, but I really do need to finish these two books so I can get started on the upcoming books for the month of March. Might sit up REALLY late tonight since I have nothing to do tomorrow.

message 9960: by [deleted user] (new)

6:21 p.m. and just put the Galaxy on charge. Plan to sit in a comfortable chair (not this hard kitchen chair), rest my back and read till dawn. Well, maybe a bit of an exaggeration but I'll try. No time for sulking tonight!

message 9961: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 345 comments 8:50 p.m spent the evening cleaning the living room and bathroom and hallway and vacuumed the bedrooms. Feeling triumphant though I didn't do a darn thing in the kitchen yet. Had a pb&j for dinner and now I'm just catching up on groups before I settle in to try and write a review for Boy's Life. Dunno why, but I've been having trouble writing my reviews lately, I feel like I can't put into words what I want to say. Sigh. Small problems though, I'm not complaining.

Angie | 76 comments Its 2.30am here, I've stayed up most of the night again! I had my flat inspected by the landlord today so I've spent most 9f the last two days cleaning everything from windows and doors to the flag stones on my patio. Happily they were happy with everything.

I'm just at page 60 of boys life, I was supposed to read it on the group but I think everyone has finished. I had to clean instead of read.

I used to do that same thing, but now I'm lucky if I can wrap up all my reads by the end of any given year, haha. I's been a while since I've done that. Gosh, I can't even remember the last time I didn't have any books going.

9:53 AM

Loving--absolutely LOVING my book RUNNER!

This is going to be at least a 600-page day.

Welp, don't think I'm going to make my 600+page day after all--I mean, I could but I don't think I would enjoy it if I did it just to do it--I'm sleepy. I just got too distracted today. I read right under 400 pages today. Not bad. That's double what I've been averaging.

8:35PM Finished Boy's Life about 4:30, had dinner after that and went to the playground. Played basketball with my kids while Aves played with a little girl on the playground. Came home and did my vlog and wrote my review on Boy's life. Had a glass of wine and then of course I had some coffee after that because I love coffee in the evening. And now I think I shall watch a movie with the family.

9:40PM Have plans to go out today to Eureka Park, actually named South Lake Park. This is Denton's best park ever, where we all become kids playing on their monster playground! We have a lot of great memories with Aeverie at this park, and even great memories with our own kids as well. Sadly come fall they are tearing it down to rebuild using plastic and steel. It will never be the same or even compare. The reason why is because when it was built it (all built by volunteers) the sealer for the wood had arsenic in it and they have to seal it every year to keep it contained in the wood. Even though the amount that can seep out is so minimal that it could not really hurt anyone it was still voted on to be torn down and replaced. UGH! The park also has fishing, and great trails to walk. That of course will all stay the same. So we wanna go as often as we can before it is gone. It is really sad.

GeneralTHC 11:22 AM

Trying to figure out what I'm going to read today. I'm torn between about 3 books today, two of which I cain't even remember what they are at they moment. I should work on some of those 50 or so books I'm halfway though, but that just ain't how I roll anymore. Kind of bummer in a way though because all that reading doesn't go on my stats.

I think this book sounds good: Caught. It's probably the one I am going to read today, unless I remember pretty quickly what those others were. I think I'm just going to start adding everything with even a modicum of potential to my TBR. Then I'll be back to multiple TBRs. Oh well, the problems of a bookworm--gotta love it.

Man, it's really, really nice day in Thee Metroplex. Hope you all have a great day!

1:11pm EST. Just got home and am enjoying some coffee. Had a dental checkup at 8:30, then went out to breakfast with hub, then we both got our hair cut. Now he is going to the library for me (YAY) so I can figure out what I want to read next. It's been a good year so far for my reading. Planning shrimp with red peppers and spinach over angel hair pasta for dinner. Hub will help me cook, should be a good time. Also, a little vino. Hope everyone is having a great day!

Chuck--FYI my pharmacist is back! Double YAY!

Can you build it a place outside? Just a box with old clothes or something in it? Maybe a tarp around it or something? It could be God wants you to have it. Yeah, that's probably it. ;)

Alondra Miller 8:17am. About to go have breakfast with the kids... (secretly hoping i can get someone to adopt them, or they run away) and then back for some much needed gardening.

i tell ya; i don't think my kids will ever leave. my husband just hung his head down and said, '..you know they are never moving out??'..and he sounded so forlorn. I immediately went out of the room and yelled at the kids... hahhaha.... they came out saying, "What happened?" and looking confused. I said "everyone out by the end of the summer, you are depressing your dad!!..and that goes for the cat, too!"

Of course, the cat just looked at me, and started licking her butt.... damn.

message 9995: by ✨Susan✨ (new)

✨Susan✨ (suswelch) | 904 comments Lol, Alondra, you are so funny. I think mine will live here forever too. But when you look at it from their side why would they leave. Haha. Last night we had 10 kids here to visit(party), pigging out and carrying on. My hubby and I feel the same way. One day I want them to go and the next I don't want them to ever leave. I think that is a Mom thing.

The cat probably had the right idea. Lol

9:08AM Well so much for the 2 days of summer we had at temps in the 80's! What is this madness? It went from 80 to 25. With the wind chill it is like 12. IKR Susan!? This weather is a drag!

message 9999: by [deleted user] (new)

9pm EST. Had at least an inch of ice and now it's snowing--expecting 3-5 inches which doesn't sound too bad. Hub can work at home tomorrow if the roads are bad. so that's a relief. Didn't eat dinner tonight--we had some bad shrimp last night and spent the day recuperating, so Larry had some chicken soup and I had coffee. (I know, I could have made a better choice, but it was so soothing...) Gonna read for a while and then make it an early night. Good night and sweet dreams GR!
