I'm either gonna start with 25 days or Christmas Angels. I have not decided yet, but they both sound really good. Hoping to enjoy them!

Today I bought books 1 and 2 of the Society of Steam series (The Falling Machine and Hearts of Smoke and Steam), and Truthwitch. I don't know anything about the Society of Steam series, but I've been wanting to read more steampunk and I got both books for $11. I bought Truthwitch because Becca from Becca and the Books (YouTube) did a reading vlog of the series and I got interested. Don't know when exactly I'll start them, though lol.
Had a good book buying day on Tuesday. Went to an actual 'library store' and got several books, went to our used book store and then ended our day with Barnes and Noble. I ended up with about 24 books. I got about 16 of those for $12. So I did really good. I was most excited about getting a hard cover copy of Cell and Desperation by Stephen King. They were only $8 a piece and in pretty good shape.
My study is already too full of books so I hardly buy any printed books anymore, let alone hardcovers.I've made an exception today for The Furies by John Connolly because he is one of a small group of authors I want to have all books in print of.
Funny enough the hardcover edition was cheaper than the paperback!
Glad you got the hardcover for less, that is really awesome, especially for a new release. I know when we go to our Used book store the adult hard covers are way cheaper than the YA soft backs, that is nice too because I tend to buy more adult books than YA.
I bought Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone by Diana Gabaldon
I've seen mixed reviews but still, I want to have it. And read it, of course, over the holidays. It's 900 pages so it will keep me busy for a good few days.
I love that series Jannelies. I read till book 7. I got a little burned out on it. One of these days I will finish it up.
Some books for my classics challenge:
And a book by a goodreads author that will be my first read of 2023:
Rachel wrote: "

Rachel I have heard good things about Penpal.

Janie wrote: "Rachel I have heard good things about Penpal."i really liked it when i read it + would recommend, if you have the chance. at times, you can tell it was self-published, but overall, it was absolutely chilling in the best way. :)

Janie wrote: "Jannelies, I need to read more cozy mysteries. I have a kindle full of them!"Yes, well, I like cozy mysteries but I like hardboiled thrillers and crimes just a little more... So I try and not to buy more cozy mysteries because I'm having trouble finding time to read these days.
I bought The Dead of Winter by Stuart McBride just now!
Stuart McBride is one of the authors I want all books of in print. And so is Jo Nesbo, so I pre-ordered Killing Moon
which will be published in May.
I bought Murder In Maastricht by Graham Brack
It's only 99 cent (in Euro) on Amazon. Absolutely well worth the money ;-). My review will follow shortly.
I found several books on sale at our local grocery store. I bought 4 of them. I love finding books that are super affordable.
I bought The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
I wanted something totally different from my usual reading and this was recommended to me. And yes, it is totally different! Enjoying it so far.
I recently bought The Year of the Locust by Terry Hayes
I read I am Pilgrim two times already so I have high hopes!
Simply Lies Paperback David Baldacci by David Baldacci
I'm a big fan of Baldacci
War Lord by Bernard Cornwell
Seen the tv-series twice!
The Bullet That Missed by Richard Osman
Because I liked the first two books a lot.
And finally, I was gifted a lovely book from my Secret Santa:
City of Last Chances by Adrian Tchaikovsky
Janie wrote: "Nice Haul Jannelies"Thank you Janie. Sadly, The Year of the Locust was disappointing 😕 in places. I'm reading City of Lost Chances now and it's great! I just missed the sequel to this one on Netgalley though so now I'll have to wait till the paperback comes available.
Well at least you are enjoying your current read. I have been reading Christmas books. Most have been above average. So that is good.
I bought myself a printed copy of The End of the World Running Club
I reviewed the book in 2017 and I kept thinking of it. A good sign 😉. I will re-read it in the near future.
Last year I ordered Killing Moon by Jo Nesbo
I ordered it from Amazon and it was supposed to be delivered early May. I was very happy however, to find this book in my local bookstore! It was cheaper too 😉. Happy!
I actually got to go to Recycled books a couple weeks back and treated myself to many books. Here is my haul on you tube if y'all are interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCsPI...
Janelles I'm a big David Baldacci fan myself!Had a busy few weeks at work so I decided to treat myself to some books!
Here's my haul
I picked up The Maiden by Kate Foster
I liked the cover and the blurb and it didn't disappoint, on the contrary. For just 1,59 euro it was a very nice read!
