What books have you bought lately?
Finally, the day I've been waiting for, I've been saving 20$ to go out and buy Dennis Lehane's new book
, and I've finally got it. YAY!
OMG I got a great surprise today, One of my booktube friends sent me a package she sent to me 4 Stephen King books that I do not have. She sent Thinner, Full Dark No Stars, Blaze and the best one of all Cycle of the Werewolf 1st edition paper. I was flabbergasted! I took a break from my current read and read and finished Cycle of the Werewolf. So so good. It has been 20 years since I have read or even seen that book. I have looked at our local UBS so many times and they never have it, now I have it. So excited!
That's cool Janie! I see Cycle of the Werewolf a lot at my USB. I feel kind of dumb because I haven't bought it. :/
You definitely should Victor as long as it is either the Hardback which there was a limited hardback edition, or the large illustrated paperback. The illustrations add so much to the story. Here is my video with my reaction included...lol

I saw the hardcover for $75. I've been watching your videos Janie. I think the Chocolate War looks interesting.
Yea wow that is expensive. I will probably not find the hardcover edition at my UBS for very cheap if at all.
Oh Shelleen! I have heard so much about Stitching Snow, let me know what you think once you read it.
Caved during a time when I 'really' need to stay off Amazon and FAR away from the one click button, but I failed......and bought.....
by Tim Johnston
by Greg Iles which I've read, but was part of my book losses so with it in bargain books I decided to add to my rebuilding list. I love Greg Iles.And.......this one has me upset because essentially it cost me $50.00 in the long run.
by Gabrielle Zevin $50.00 because I had it on my kindle for four months with my kindle unlimited and last month I didn't have the $9.99 cents to renew the unlimited program so I had to cancel and I lost all the books I borrowed. Never got to read the last one. Upsetting even more because the day they were to take the money out of my bank account was 'one' day before I got my once a month check. So, great books borrowed and $40.00 later I lost all the books and bought A J Fikry in print $10.00. Total.....$50.00 for one book and one day. Missed it by ONE DAY! I hope that made sense, but a kindle unlimited happy customer I am.......Not! Happy Reading everyone.
Melissa I like Greg Iles too. I have his Penn Cage series And have read the first one and I would like to continue the series. I also have read Blood Memory but it has been a long time and I don't remember much of it.

I'm not rebuilding every book I lost, by I knew this was one I had to replace at some point. I've wanted to read a few of the Penn Cage Series, but not sure I want to start at #1. Do they have to be read in order?
Shelleen wrote: "I loved the Storied Life of A.J. Fikry. I hope that you like it Meliisa."Hi Shelleen :) Thank you so much for letting me know! Now I'm super excited to get it in the mail tomorrow :) Also, thanks so much for your replies. I'm sorry I miss most, but when I do catch them it's always a Happy thing :) You, Janie and Corey are always so awesome to me!! After today I 'really' needed to be in here to see all the happy and positive posts from everyone.....

Melissa they are different cases but his life carries over from one book to the next. I hate to skip over that stuff myself, but I think if you really did not want to read them in order it would be ok.

I just ordered Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn and Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight.I heard about them on different booktube channels. Gone Girl sounds like it is my type of book and Reconstructing Amelia isn't one I normally would have come across, but it sounds like it will be good.
I hope so too Holly. If I like the book as much as I think I will, I will end up buying her other books.
I've picked up a few books over the last couple of days. From Audible's recent 3 books for 2 credits sale, I got:Fuzzy Nation
To Say Nothing of the Dog
Curse of the Blue Tattoo: Being an Account of the Misadventures of Jacky Faber, Midshipman and Fine Lady
I just picked up The Likeness from the library and since I want to finish this series soon, I got Broken Harbour for $0.99 on iTunes today. (It's the same price on Amazon.ca).
Jihan, I hope that you enjoy The Girl on the Train. I didn't care for it but most of my friends loved it and it has good ratings. Either it wasn't for me or could be the mood I was in, that effects me too lol.
I recently ordered a boxset with all the books of Game of thrones. I'm really excited and I can't wait for it to arrive.

(Shame) I read the first book in audiobook format and didn't like the narrator's mouth noises and poor phrasing so decided to read the rest of the series in print format. I'm itching to get reading them because a friend gave me the 2nd HBO tv series as a gift. I want to read first, and then watch. I watched the 1st HBO series after I read the 1st book. Loved them both equally, though the tv versions had minor differences.
I am reading "All the Light We Cannot See" for another Good Reads group I'm in. I am only two chapters into it, but it's starting out really well. I will post my thoughts on it when I'm done.
