Thanks Holly! I have heard it is pretty good. So I really wanted to try it out. I am excited to read it so I will add to one of my upcoming TBR's.
Not so much books I have brought but I have received two wonderful books for book swap sites. I also have a couple of review copies in the post which I am looking forward to getting to.I got from the swap sites
Gone - James Patterson
House of Silk - Anthony Howowitz
I haven't been to a UBS since December, and it is upsetting.I did, however; go on Amazon and picked up some books I have been meaning to get to, as well as some that must be read now. As you know, with UBSs, it can be a crapshoot.
Buys:
Ashes, and yes, it is about zombies..why wouldn't it be?? LOL.
The Rook, which has probably been on my TBR since I joined GR in 2011.
Wool; because i have to find out why everyone loves this.
Autumn: Purification, because this series is one of the best zombie stories i have read and i have read many. it gives us a look at the initial days following an apocalyptic disaster.
I bought 11 books today!! I got The Perks of Being a Wallflower, If You Find Me, This Star Won't Go Out, The Maze Runner, The Death Cure, The Scorch Trials, The Kill Order, Prince Of Shadows, The Accidental Life Of Jessie Jefferson, The Shock of the Fall and Paws and Whiskers! Lots of reading!
Squire wrote: "On the recommendation (more like insistence) of my 13-year-old niece:She also told me not to waste my time with The Hunger Games. So I won't."
I liked Hunger games a lot more than I cared for the Divergent series. I was talked into it by my wife who wanted to read them. Niether of us were impressed with Divergent. Hope you enjoy them though.
Sam- I loved House of Silk. It is a great Holmes Pastiche. Horowitz realy captures the voice of Watson. There is a rather disturbing twist at the end so be ready. I hope you like this book.
I'm going shopping with the family on Monday and a trip to Barnes and Noble is in our future. The kids will of course get neew books but I'm anxious to go hunting myself.
Today I bought a couple John Grisham books, The King of Torts and The Racketeer, I also got Tick Tock by Dean Koontz.
I agree with Chris I enjoyed The hunger Games so much more than the Divergent series. I did like Divergent, then I liked Insurgent more than that. I hope you enjoy it too Squire.

Or Give Me Death: A Novel of Patrick Henry's Family
Heart of Evil
The Last Song
The Weight of Silence

I received these in the mail today:
Chopsticks
Tricks Of The Mind
I was really annoyed about Chopsticks. Within 5 minutes of opening the envelope it was in, the cover just came off the book. I'm hoping I can get a replacement. I ordered it from the Book Depository and that's the first time I've ever had a problem like that with them.
Great Haul Lauren, but sorry to hear about the cover coming off. That stinks! I can understand why that would be annoying.
Book depository are normally really good. They'll probably get you to send a pic then will either refund or send another one. A couple of times they've sent me new books and told me just to keep the damaged one.

I really want to get Chopsticks, Lauren. I have heard amazing things about it. I wouldn't think a book made of only pictures could be so good:)
I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. There was small amounts of text in it, though. It was a very quick read but also very emotional. The story was executed perfectly with the photography and art. You should get it if you can!
So jelly Kathryn! I almost bought it last night from Amazon but I wanted to make sure it was ok with hubby first!
I ordered Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote, Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut, Lady Audley's Secret by Mary Elizabeth Braddon, and A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess from the Book Depository. Hopefully they'll all get here within the next two weeks.
