Carla (carlacollette) | 347 comments Rena Reads Romance—Here are your picks; if nothing appeals to you, let me know and I’ll happily re-pick.

1. Turkey: From you TBR, you’ve read the first two intense books of this series; the third is similar http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/40...
This book is has romantic elements in it, although it is more a fast-paced coming-of-middle-age book about a woman who loses her memories of the last 10 years (not too heavy, but intense at some points) http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/64...

2. Mashed Potatoes: From you TBR, this one is a light story with a bit of substance; I enjoyed it http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/84...
This was my favorite of Quinn’s Bridgerton series http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11...

3. Gravy: From your TBR, you’ve read the first two of this series; I actually liked the third the best http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...
This is a funny, clever romance that you might like http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/27...

4. Pumpkin Pie:
This is a sweet Kristan Higgins read http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/86...
I haven’t read this one (yet), but it looks delicious (from your TBR) http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/97...

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 1192 comments Thank you Carrie for the picks: I am going with,

TURKEY: Second Chance Pass, robyn carr

Thanks for the great picks! I am torn, since several look really good. I'll probably pick up one of the cozies or the Kitchen Witch, but I'll let you know. I am a bit swamped right now (reading group book, books on loan that need to go back, etc.), so I probably won't be able to do a buddy read early in the month, and it sounds like you'll be busy later :)

message 272: by Gigi (last edited Oct 30, 2012 08:31AM) (new)

Gigi | 1149 comments Hi Dawn (dawn_e),

Sorry for the delay. I hope you find something that you enjoy. If not, I'll be happy to pick again.

1. Turkey: The meat of the meal, suggest books that are intense or emotional, something you can sink your teeth into.
Cry No More by Linda Howard or
The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson or
Hummingbird by LaVyrle Spencer

2. Mashed Potatoes: Fluffy and light, recommend books that are light or funny, a little bit of fluff for them to enjoy.
Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella or
Shadowland (The Mediator, #1) by Meg Cabot

3. Gravy: You know how you practically want to lick it off your plate? Yeah, like that. Choose books with yummy covers and/or yummy stories.
Tempting the Beast (Breeds, #1) by Lora Leigh or
Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #10) by J.R. Ward

4. Pumpkin Pie: The sweet finish, topped off with whipped cream! Suggest sweet books for your pickee, some that are like comfort food, feel good books that will leave them feeling good!
The Duke And I (Bridgertons, #1) by Julia Quinn or Duncan's Bride (Patterson/Cannon Family, #1) by Linda Howard

Enjoy!

*just noticed that you recommended First Grave to someone else. So, I swapped that one for Shadowland.

POLO!

Sorry it took longer to post than I expected. I started vacation Friday and somehow, with absolutely nothing to do, I'm getting absolutely nothing done. I loved looking through your shelves and all the different genres gave me a lot of choices. I hope you enjoy your picks.

The Traditional Turkey Dinner

1. Turkey
I Am J by Cris Beam Unholy Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #1) by Stacia Kane
I Am J by Cris Beam -- I've not read this, but it looks like a very emotional book.
Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane -- With her drug addictions and esteem issues, Chess makes for an unconventional hero. Even when she's making bad choices, I can't help rooting for her. The books are intense, emotional and at times heart-breaking. Stacia Kane has created a wonderful dark fantasy world and I would definitely recommend starting the series.

2. Mashed Potatoes
Damn You, Autocorrect! Awesomely Embarrassing Text Messages You Didn't Mean to Send by Jillian Madison Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet by Darynda Jones Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye (Psychic Eye Mystery, #1) by Victoria Laurie
Damn You, Autocorrect!: Awesomely Embarrassing Text Messages You Didn't Mean to Send by Jillian Madison -- This looks like a fun read.
Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet by Darynda Jones -- (The book's release date is today, so I thought I'd go ahead and recommend it.) Charlie always manages to make me laugh.
Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye by Victoria Laurie -- (This is an alternate, since you may not be able to get your hands on Fourth Grave.) I saw various types of mysteries in your TBR, so I thought you might enjoy this fun paranormal-mystery series about a psychic who keeps stumbling into murder investigations.

3. Gravy
Bound for the Forest by Kay Berrisford The Darkest Hour (KGI, #1) by Maya Banks
Bound for the Forest by Kay Berrisford -- Another author I haven't read before, but the cover is gorgeous and the story looks interesting.
The Darkest Hour by Maya Banks -- You have some Maya Banks books on your shelves, but I didn't see her KGI books listed. Ethan's emotional story is first, but all of the Kelly brothers are worth coming back for more.

4. Pumpkin Pie
Miss Lonely Hearts by Charlene Teglia One Reckless Summer (Destiny, #1) by Toni Blake
Miss Lonely Hearts by Charlene Teglia -- Even though this is one I haven't read yet, I've enjoyed other books by this author and it looks like a wonderful romance.
One Reckless Summer by Toni Blake -- I read this on recommendation from someone else and loved it. I've only read one more in this series, but definitely plan to continue.
