What are you reading?
I love how I screwed up a series order … I read 6 and 7 of the Dresden files out of it. I am feeling twitchy, luckily it is not too bad if you do that and it was only one book really. (I think I need a xanax) I finished Proven Guilty (The Dresden Files, #8) by Jim Butcher and will most likely continue with White Night (The Dresden Files, #9) by Jim Butcher
I had a couple of WTF was that moments, till I went back and read Death Masks, which is the book before Blood Rights... which are the books before Dead Beat.
So far Dead Beat is my favorite book, the Jurassic Park references were gold ... I love that book. (The movie too just not when I put on my "omg that did not happen in the book" goggles.)

One of the dogs I adopted had separation anxiety. She shredded a sectional sofa and clawed a hole in the drywall while I was gone. I started giving her a treat (dog biscuit) right before I left for work, and as soon as she was healed from her spaying, I went back to the shelter and adpoted a second dog that, when grown, would be about the same size. After that, the two played together and pretty much forgot I was gone during the day. I did set up my family room so that it was "their" room. Vinyl instead of carpet, dog beds/pillows, food/water dishes, lots of dog squeaky toys, not much other furniture. Never had any more destructuve incidents after that.

I just finished my 3rd book this month, titled
Notorious Nineteen (Stephanie Plum #19)by Janet Evanovich. My next book is
The Spell (The Big Bad Wolf #3)by Heather Killough-Walden
Just finished Bite Club (Morganville Vampires) I think this was #11. I don't know where Rachel Caine comes up with these stories. Gave it 4 stars though cause I really liked it.Started reading Werewolf in the North Woods by Vicki Lewis Thompson. I've never read any of her books so this will be a new experience.
I just finished
and have now started
. The second book was a part of the GR awards and i loved the cover so gave the series a try... its turning out to be a great read. The protagonist is a really cool anti-hero: It’s what I am, and if you want excuses, come and take them.

My dog does't destroy things. But he still suffers. Or used to. When he was still in the shelter he weighed 10 kilos less because of the stress and hurt himself because of the anxiety.
It was difficult in the beginning. But we work a lot with him and now he can spend three hours alone.
I'm glad you found the right solution for your dog. :-)

I finished White Night and then Small Favor (The Dresden Files, #10) by Jim Butcher right after. I am so procrastinating ...
Lol, as much as I wanted to know what happens to Dresden in Cold Days...I can't stop reading about Lissa from
and
. Poor Dresden is about to give me the cold shoulder if I neglect him any more.
Well I can understand why you can't put down Lissa 'cause I confess I'm a Lissa addict :D. I'm just wondering Valerie what you're going to say during and after book 4
'cause the books change curse since that one but for now keep on reading and I'm shutting up now *zipping her lips, puts on lock and throws away the key*
That's interesting that you guys are liking the Connie Suttle books. I bought the first one ages ago and it was either free or dirt cheap, but I've never got round to reading it. I wasn't sure if it was just another so-so self-published book and I actually forgot all about it. But it sounds like it's not half bad, from what you're saying. I'll need to reconsider my intentions to read it!
I admit...I'm addicted. I got the first book free from Amazon a few months back. I have accumulated so many freebies from amazon that it's a hoarding problem now. This year I started a reading challenge just to force me to knock a few.I honestly don't know why I like the Connie Suttle books so much. There is sure stuff happening a plenty and the heroine is far from TSTL.

I have no idea why I love the series so much maybe 'cause it surprises me so much and 'cause you know what is going on all around you but Lissa doesn't and you know that sooner or liter all the shit will hit the fan and unfortunately it will blow toward her :/ LOL :D

Lissa is always Johnny on the spot with acts of insane bravery...maybe a bit of Anna Strong Chronicle thrown in for good mesure.
On to book 3 then
@Ashleigh - I liked the White Trash Zombie books - kind of have the same "Police Detective" stuff she writes in the Kara Gillian books, but with a "bite!" Oh, that was bad! LOL!
Turn Coat (The Dresden Files, #11) by Jim ButcherI find myself liking this series more and more each book I read. They are getting bigger as they go ... I am so not complaining though.
I just finished my 4th book this month, titled
The Hunt (The Big Bad Wolf #4)by Heather Killough-Walden. My next book is
Daughter of Darkness (Kindred #1)by V.C. Andrews
Marked for Vengeance (Alyx Rayer Chronicles, #1) by S.J. PierceInteresting is all I can say for now really.
A Trace of Moonlight (Abby Sinclair, #3) by Alllison Pang I had left this book @ 50% ... Damn sparklies.

WVMP:
Just remember when you get to 3 that you did not miss a book ...
I just finished my 5th book this month, titled
The Hunt (The Big Bad Wolf #4)by Heather Killough-Walden. My next book is
Daughter of Darkness (Kindred #1)by V.C. Andrews
Dark Desires After Dusk (Immortals After Dark, #6) by Kresley Cole Just felt like reading it again for some reason ... I am glad I have read the series enough so reading books out of order in the series does not make me want a xanax.

I'm glad I decided to read the Dresden Files, too. I avoided it at first, but it's fun to read. And I love Harry's sense of humor, too.
I'm glad you reminded me about the beginning of WVMP 3. I just opened it and was all, "Wtf, did I miss something?" I liked book 2 a lot. I want a Dexter.

@ Mello:You are welcome, anything to save someone the WTF feeling I had till I researched it to make sure I was not barmy.
I want a Dexter too, maybe he will eat She-Ra the barky mcpooperson ... freakin' annoying puppy. Though 13 months is not considered puppy anymore.
OMG I'm like so behind but FINALLY starting on a new book:
. The reviews all look "ehhh" but so far I like it.

Finished:Demon from the Dark (Immortals After Dark, #10) by Kresley Cole
and
Lothaire (Immortals After Dark, #12) by Kresley Cole
o o o I did it again read out of order
You know Ashleigh, I was pretty disappointed. It was my least liked Bloodhound book, and it was the last one! Here is my review:http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
I don't know how to feel about the twists that Jeri Smith-Ready threw into
. The book and series definitely had a resolution, but I don't know if I'm okay with what she did to get it to that point. I wonder if she planned that from the beginning of the series?Reading
finally.
It was weird. I didn't see that coming at all. I probably should have when Ciara was wondering about it during the couple of times she was talking to Lanham after she got assigned to IC. I just didn't consider it a possibility. I don't know whether to see it as a good thing or a bad thing.

OMG the last book in the series?!?!?!how on earth is that even possible, no way would the author be able to tie anything up no matter how talented he is.
Great review!
i wonder why the author just randomly ended the series??
i agree with you the about book 5, compared to the others in the series it was a bit all over the place.
Yeah I think his contract. It's not entirely his fault if they ended his contract, but he still could have ended it better.
