Well, you have certainly impressed me! It sounds like you have an excellent system in place for the week. ; )
I am trying to get some books out of the way for a challenge in another group. It always seems that when I get a book off my tbr list, two or three crop up to take its place! No end in sight! lol

The Brothers Karamazov is one of my favorite books, but certainly not a fast read. I hope each page is a pleasure for you.

Yes, Connie... it is so tricky. When reading a book I like I automatically have 3 or 4 new books on my "want to read" list. Others by the authors, the genre or the general theme.I have to say I get a little kick out of my "book finishing project". It is such a good feeling to dig out the old unfinished books and finally end them. I mean those were books I actually enjoyed but dropped because other books came inbetween me and them or they were at some boring or tough spot and I dreaded picking them up again.
Nadine, I understand completely about having a feeling of satisfaction when finishing one of those books you have been meaning to get to forever, but life just gets in the way. You are certainly making fine progress! ; )

Thank you Connie! Of course you will whiz by me and leave me in your reading dust as usual :)
Nadine wrote: "@ Lynnb: Is there a reason why you keep us in the dark and talk ominously of "1 book"? I am curious now!"No - just too lazy :) to put the titles in. I'll start doing that, though.
The 2-1/2 above are: I finished The Gift of Rain and read The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, then read Death Loves a Messy Desk because I needed a very light read after that first two! By the way, I gave the first two 5 stars - and they were both debut novels.
nothing wrong with being lazy...I haven't updated what i've been reading, because I takes too much effort to figure out page counts...lol!

Hm then I will have a closer look as well. At the moment I am quite proud of myself to concentrate on my "unfinished lot", so I don't want to get any more book-temptations into my home than necessary, but it goes onto my list!

It's not great, but it's about what I expected. It's only Tuesday, and I've already worked 20 hours this week. I had family in town over the weekend, so I wasn't able to fit much reading in then. Hopefully I'll more time later in the week.

Nadine wrote: "Anne, I am amazed you read as much as you did with your schedule and distractions! I hope the reading time was at least good, are you enjoying your books?"I really am enjoying all the books. I just wish I had more time to focus on them. I'm working 10-11 hours per day through Friday plus at least half a day on Saturday, so time is really at a premium right now. The Curse of Chalion is due Friday at the library, so I'm really going to have to scramble to finish. I'm really impressed with the totals other people are reaching. I miss having free time :-( The OT pay is nice, though.
Even with no (regular 8 hour/day-) job I wouldn't be able to get as much read as much as some do. So I am impressed. Sometimes it is good though to have a bit of a deadline for books, even in busy times.

Connie and Nadine you are doing amazing!
So are you, Linette! WOW! Look at all those books you have finished! ; ) Happy reading wishes to you!
I have been really busy this week, so my reading time has been curtailed. Some weeks are just like that. I am hopeful that I'll have more time for reading tomorrow. I need to get some book challenge choices out of the way.

Thank you! But mind you the books were 1/4 to 1/2 read when I started. I am "merely" finishing them. But it feels great to finally dig out those books again and finish them. The page count is about what I actually read within the readathon.

I got some books I ordered at The Book Depository (before my idea to only finish my half read books during this readathon). And one (Slated) practically threw itself at me in a seriously slutty way! I had no chance! My 2 current books are... well Between is just annoying and UnWholly feels like it is just going through the motions. So I started "Slated" (I was also really longing to read a printed cover, my over books are all eBooks). It is pretty interesting and good, so I think I will stick with it.
