Just to note for people who haven't chosen yet, Series Catch-Up is a personal shelf and as long as the book is not a first in a series, any other will do (providing it's over 200 pages).
Happy reading!

Sounds about right to me! Such a good series!!
And Mandy - that is my favorite series - I could go back and read the whole thing all over again. I love Kate and Curran.

I started reading this series for BSB challenge so it's great I can use another book for this week's shelf :)

I started Biting Cold last night so that'll probably be my choice for this week.
Is everyone enjoying their reads?

Series Catch-Up 10/17/12 **** stars
Number 12 in the In Death series was a good solid story. In this one, Rourke's past comes back to haunt him and he is once more involved in the investigation. Eve figures out very quickly who the murderer is, but not the why of it or where he is. The book is spent trying to track him down and solve the why. There is much less time spent on Eve and Roarke's relationship, though it is still a central part of the story. In addition, Peabody and Mcnabb hit a slight bump in the road. I really enjoyed this one and liked learning more about Roarke.

This is definitely my favorite of the series so far - I was so happy to see (view spoiler)
I have other books I need to read, but I'm really tempted to jump straight into the next one - my library had the ebook available so I checked it out already. Maybe it will fit this weekend's shelf (*crosses fingers*)["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

This was so much fun to read. This book is why I love this series in the first place. The interaction between William and Paris in the beginning was fun. When Sienna and Paris got back together, the story dragged a bit for me. I found that I didn’t care too much about either character, but it was good to see them together. The intervention was just wrong. Showalter tried to make it light with Anya’s speech being the only one mentioned, but it was so out of place and inconsistent. Why didn’t that happen with the other guys? I liked that Zacharel was featured quite a bit, but that was to set up the next series. I already have that book and plan to read it sooner rather than later. Then ending was great. Cronus and Rhea had that coming but not the way I expected.
This book was a nice way to end this part of the LOTU world. I hope the next series with the angels is just as fun.

Review: This book was a great continuation of the series. We see more of the paranormal world and how it works. Relationship between Anna and Charles progresses but it's still not the perfect one. Everyone prepares for revealing themselves in public and I can't wait to see how that turns out in next book from the series.

I'm half way through 'Biting Cold' or whatever its name is, should be finished by the weekend then it's shelf time!

It's an ok shelf for us, once we get all our stamps, we'll have 3 three-in-rows :)

I'll be reading

Title/Author: Biting Cold by Chloe Neill
Date finished: 21st October
Rating: ★★★, maybe 3.5 stars
Review: This series is not my favourite but I always end up reading it since they're in the library and I think I might as well.
I didn't mind this book, it was definitely less frustrating than previous ones when they were letting random organisations control them. Merit was ok, she's a good heroine and Ethan is not as annoying as he was so it was definitely an improvement for me. I liked the plot in general but the trouble is it never excites me or makes me interested to see what's going to happen.
I'll probably end up reading the next one when it comes out.

This book is fantastic - I could not put it down (obviously) until I had finished every exciting word. The story follows the second of the three demon brothers that run Underworld General, the demon hospital, and poor Slade has a lot of things acting against him. First, he wakes up in a dungeon with an angry female - one who used to be a girlfriend of sorts before he pissed her off and she disappeared. Now she's changed, but he still is interested and has a curse working against them. Not only that, but the dungeon setting is due to an enemy Slade didn't know he had, and things just get more exciting and dangerous from there. I loved this book as much as the first one - the characters are fascinating and so is the world they come from.

Gea, I'm trying really hard not to start new series but then another one catches my eye... and I've gone and fallen off the wagon! Demonica is good though so hope you like them.
@Mandy and Leslie: Yeah, if I had to pay for them, I probably would've abandoned at book #2. Yet here I am just finished book #6 :P

Very interesting picks, ladies! Hopefully, soon we can get 4-in-a-row since we seem to be pretty good about getting our stamps. I've really enjoyed reading the reviews.
I'm halfway through my series read and I'll try to finish soon.

I've liked reading the reviews as well :)

@Gea - I think you will really enjoy it!

#2 is really good - I read quite a few of the LoTU before I ever heard of the Demonica series, but what held me back was not having them available. Maybe #3 will fit next week's category (*wished hard*) :)

Definitely not what I was expecting, in a good way. This story is told through Shaun's POV instead of George's and it did take me some getting used to since I tend to find Shaun a bit more annoying. He likes to look at the world through George-colored glasses lately and that doesn't always work. The author also tends to use a lot of the same wordings throughout the book, like Shaun having a tendency to want to hit things instead of talk, I get it, I don't have to be told every single time. I'm trying not to be spoilerish, but without certain characters around the story did lose some of the gleam it had from the first book, but for what it lacked in substance it quickly made up for in story. I want answers just as bad as the team does and I'll definitely be reading the next book soon (I'm so happy it's already out!).

Stamp time!

Review: Another great addition to the IAD series. This one wasn't my favourite but it definitely wasn't my least favourite either. I liked how Cade could be so unexpectantly tender, cute and vulnerable sometimes. Since I can't be bothered to rehash the plot, I'll just quote a bit that made me go "awww".
Okay so Cade is self-conscious about his intellect and education and they had just had a conversation about computer coding (Holly is a geek).
"...Cadeon had used her computer, having no idea that she had a keystroke program installed that would tell her what anyone had typed on it...
But at the next entry, she felt an unexpected pang.
The demon mercenary had looked up...cluster analysis and extremal combinatories."
I don't know why but I just wanted to cry when I read this.

The Demon Catchers of Milan by Kat Beyer

Date Finished: October 23

A little slow to finding it's rhythm, it took me a while to warm up to Mia and her family. She seemed very sympathetic, if not a little bit naive, but I think it will be nice to see her mature in the next book(s). Although there is the paranormal aspect (all that demon catching and such), very little time is spent on explaining the the intricacies of Mia's new world. Her family is at turns cryptic and welcoming, which was frustrating since I wasn't thinking I was getting a book about culture-shock. I'll probably read the next one to see Mia learn more about her family's oldest profession, but this one did leave me feeling like something was missing, whether it was the action I was hoping for or the explanations that may have been helpful, I don't know. Hopefully the next book will have those things and more.

Ugh. Not sure why I bother with reading these books except that they have been sitting on my nook for so long. Okay book, barely - but poorly written characters, pages of insipid dialogue and a ridiculous plot. So glad it's off my nook.

So to review; when I’m kidnapped, abducted, rescued, whatever you want to call it, I want a closet full of clothes that fit so I can dress up for dinner and I now want to be sent to a cloud that will give me whatever I ask for. I hope this cloud also has access to my Kindle and iPad downloads.
I had fun with this book. Zacharel was a hoot. I don’t remember him from the LotU books though. I must have glanced over his parts. Ha! Glanced over his parts! That was funny!
Anyway, I liked him and I also liked Annabelle. I felt their characters complimented each other because they both needed to open up to allow emotions they lost back in.
The storyline with Zacharel’s brother was a bit predictable. Whatever, I wanted to see what was going to happen with that. But Annabelle’s brother’s part was weird. I know why he was mentioned and why she wanted to see him, but it was left unfinished. What happens to him now?
The next book is about Koldo. He’s one I want to read more about.

And that was funny! I was snickering!!

In the end though, reading all 9 books made it a little easier to keep up with what was going on with this book.
