His Darkest Hunger (Jaguar Warriors, #1) by Juliana Stone
SOS Shelf
9/18/12
3 stars

It was just another run of the mill first in a series paranormal romance. I didn't like the hero that much. It was an entertaining book but I don't feel the urge to go out and get the rest of the series. Probably because I'm not a big fan of amnesia/lost memory plot lines. I may read more then again maybe not.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments They called to say that the biopsy was benign. So that's a relief.

On the other hand the guy I was seeing said he just wants to be friends. I shouldn't feel bummed because he lost his job and moved in with his mother. But he's the only prospect I had. Oh well. It's just as well that he did that now before I wasted more time on him and at least he didn't just disappear on me.

I seem to be a magnet for guys who live with their mothers.

Lala | 1065 comments Spider's Bite (Elemental Assassin, #1) by Jennifer Estep

Shelf: Kick Ass Heroine
Finished: 20.09
Rating: ★★★★★

This book was one hell of a adventure for me :) Main character Gina is an assassin and she takes one more job before having vacation. The job should be easy in and out, but something goes wrong and she ends up in a lot of trouble. The police is looking her and people who hired her wants her dead.

Megan L Harnett Hey Rapturous Readers,

I just wanted to give you a heads up. I am finishing a book up now before I can start my book for this week. I know a new shelf will be called tomorrow. I am going to be out of town for the day tomorrow so I will update everything first thing Sunday morning! My mom is in town visiting so we are going to NYC for the day! I hope all of you have great weekends!

Happy Reading!

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments No worries Megan. I haven't even started the first shelf book yet. I'm going to see if I have an audiobook on the shelf or one my Kindle can read to me.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments Wow this team is quiet.

I switched my Kick-Ass Heroine book to Smokin' Seventeen (Stephanie Plum, #17) by Janet Evanovich . It's been over a year since I read one of these so maybe it won't seem like the same book as all the rest. Plus I'm tired of seeing it on my IPOD and can't seem to pull the trigger and just delete it. They're usually funny anyway if not unique.

Smokin' Seventeen (Stephanie Plum, #17) by Janet Evanovich

9/22/12

Yawn. If you've read any of the others in the series you've read this one. Or maybe instead of 1-2 years between books I need 5 or 6 years so I can forget that Stephanie has already had to go after naked male skips, been covered in some sort of messy substance, taken Grandma Mazur to viewings, pigged out with Lula and blah blah blah. There's a reason why I haven't paid for one of these in 10 years. And now that I know JE has no plans to stop writing the same book over and over again I am done with these. Clearly there are too many people willing to pay for her to churn out the same book over and over for her to stretch her imagination and write something different. Yes they are funny but only if it's been years since I read one because it's the same jokes over and over and over....,

Megan L Harnett Ok so I have finished the book for kick-ass heroine

Dragon Actually (Dragon Kin, #1) by G.A. Aiken

Rate: 3 Stars
Finished: 9/23/12

This book was just ok. I felt the author didn't give enough depth to the characters. It was a fun steamy read though and I am hoping the series gets better.

I have submitted our shelf for a stamp.

Emily | 109 comments I just finished Dream Lake (Friday Harbor, #3) by Lisa Kleypas 9/23. I really enjoyed this book. It is the third in the series and I love how it intertwined with the other stories. Alex was a character that I enjoyed learning more about. I enjoyed the change of him and how Zoe affected him. I enjoyed the side story of Tom and Emma and how Alex played a part in it. Cant wait for the fourth and final books comes out. I rated this a 4/5

♡ Sassy ~ Amy ♡ | 494 comments Rock Chick Revenge (Rock Chick, #5) by Kristen Ashley

Favorite Author
Finished~9/23/12
Stars~★★★★★

I've read 5 of these this past week, and even though they are no where near as good as her "Dream Man" series, it was still a 5 star read!

This is the beginning for her series. The Rock Chick group shows up in the other series, so if you want to start here, this is a great starting point. These books can be picked up individually, & there is a rundown of who's who in all of these books, but I liked them in order so far. You can always guess who's next.

In this one, I laughed so hard sometimes just at the Italian antics.

Here is a girl who was 75lbs over weight growing up across the street from Luke. About 5 years after not seeing him & post weight loss, Ava goes in to his office to ask for help getting dirt on her best friends husband... She chickens out & tries to leave. She's thwarted.

Just some of the things Ava does & the crap she gets caught in, you say "Unh Uh! No way!" & you have to laugh.

So far this was my favorite, but they get better & better all the time.

Megan L Harnett Biting Cold (Chicagoland Vampires, #6) by Chloe Neill

Shelf: Wildcard
Finished: 9/26/12
Rating: ★★★★★

This book continues the saga of Merit the vampire in Chicago. The last book left off with her getting back from the dead her boyfriend/boss Ethan Sullivan and now they have to go chasing after her best friend Mallory the witch.

I don't want to ruin the story for anybody who hasn't or has read the series. I love this series! I love how tough and kick-ass Merit is. I especially love the relationship between her and Ethan. It is funny, scartastic and a good fun adventure. I can't wait for the next one in the series.

Dawn (dawn_e) | 185 comments Book Immortal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #2) by Larissa Ione
Shelf Free Space
Date read 9.27.12
Rating 3 stars

This was not one of Larissa Ione's better books. Everything was just ok - plot ok, characters ok. I didn't feel connected to Limos and Arik or even Than and Regan. For me it was missing something and rarely does it takes me 5+ days to read a book. I'm not sure if I will pick up the next one in the series.

Tricks of the Trade (Paranormal Scene Investigations #3) by Laura Anne Gilman

4 stars
9/28/12
I'm hooked on this series. Love the PUPIs. I don't quite get why she does part of the book in 1st person (Bonnie) and part in 3rd person. Why not just make the whole book 3rd person? But anyway, I love the world she's created. I do have a fear that it's going to turn into 10 books of "will they or won't they" for Bonnie and Venec. I've already dropped 2 well-known series over an author refusing to have the characters grow in anyway. But so far loving the series. I am definitely going to check out her other series.
