Well at least you are deciding between two great choices :-)
There are fewer Rizzoli & Isles books by Tess Gerritsen (10) than Alan Gregory books (19) by Stephen White if that helps you make a decision.

7. fall= colorful leaves- so this fall read a book with a YELLOW or ORANGE book cover (or combo of these colors)I'm reading Mr. X by Peter Straub. The edition I have has an orange X on the cover.
Odd; it doesn't look orange here on the screen. But it's orange, I swear!
2 down now! =D4) Odd Interlude by Dean Koontz
7) Odd Apocalypse by Dean Koontz
My next read will be:
8) Mary Jane by Judith O'Brien
I am beginning it tonight!
I'm almost done with 11/22/63 by Stephen King and I'm also reading A Dark Side of Justice by Raymond Davis (which is amazing so far!), but I really want to read a scary Halloween book....any suggestions?? Witch, Ghost, or Zombie as the main character?
Mecala wrote: "I'm almost done with 11/22/63 by Stephen King and I'm also reading A Dark Side of Justice by Raymond Davis (which is amazing so far!), but I really want to read a scary Halloween book....any sugges..."i haven't read these yet but they are on my to read list Ghost Story and October Dreams:: A Celebration of Halloween
Mecala wrote: "I'm almost done with 11/22/63 by Stephen King and I'm also reading A Dark Side of Justice by Raymond Davis (which is amazing so far!), but I really want to read a scary Halloween book....any sugges..."For witches: Harry Potter, The Witching Hour By Anne Rice and thats really all I have. There is magic in the Demonata series by Darren Shan but that might be a stretch.
Zombies: World War Z (Forgot who writes it), Any of the Resident Evil novels (a couple different authors write them.
Ghost: Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz, Lady of Shadows by Darren Shan, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, there are tons of others that I can't think of.
I personally think vampires should count toward the challenge and werewolves. The Dracula type of vamps not the Twilight vamps. But I already have that challenge done so it doesnt matter to me.
Okay so I started reading Mary Jane and I hate it so I am not going to finish it. I am not sure what I am gonna read right now but if I am to read something to go towards my challenge, I will update you guys.Update: 8) Thr3e by Ted Dekker instead of Mary Jane.
joshvampires aren't eligible this challenge because they were a part of the summer challenge
glad your gonna try dekker-hope you enjoy :)

I haven't even looked at the summer challenge to be truthful.

Water for Elephants was a great movie :-) You should consider watching the film after reading the book (if you haven't already seen it) and I love Betty White too!
The Betty White book was great!! Would recommend that one!! Enjoying the book I am reading now as well. Will let you know what I think of "Water for Elephants" Rachel. Heard good it was a good book, but also heard it was different, guess the only way to know is read it myself! Dustin, I plan to watch the movie after I read the book. Am way behind on movies...yikes!!
Are there plans for a winter reading challenge? Sure hope so, the challenge is great!!

I've been meaning to pick up the Betty White book. LOVE her so I might enjoy it better than I did when I read Dick Van Dyke for the other summer challenge. So yes pick up a copy?
Lacey, I really enjoyed the Betty White book. It was a quick read, laced with her witty humor and gave insight to her life as a youngster, fan mail, passion for animals, her husband and also her cast mates from her career. When I finished the book I wanted to go to the library and find another book about her. It was my first time reading about her and always enjoyed watching her on Golden Girls. As for picking up a copy....that's a tough one. I am a huge fan of the library and second hand book stores!! Not a fan of retail prices! If you love Betty, would read this one!
Lacey, if you read it let me know what you think!!
I just added it to my library list so hopefully I'll get to read it soon. Los added a few of her others to see if I like them too. Thanks for telling us about her book and I will let you know once I read it if I liked it and her other books too.
danellthere will be a challenge for each of the four seasons- hope you join us for the winter challenge as well:)

Oh, I wouldn't realize anything was different. Isn't that what you usually do? And it's very difficult to ignore you :-)

You know I was just messing with you Lacey :-) Glad you didn't take anything the wrong way. You sure seem like a happy person so let's keep it that way.
8. i've decided to add a random task to each challenge-this task is not inspired by the season but is still part of the challenge. so this fall read a book by an AUTHOR that you have NEVER READ BEFORE.Reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I got to meet her at Books by the Banks and got my copy signed. We spoke for about ten seconds. lol
Just finished "Water for Elephants". Thought it was a good book, the story line was good, and was well written, and researched, but thought one of the main characters was lacking depth. Would I re-read it, no. Would I recommend it, depends...if the person is wants a story about an old man remembering life when he joined a circus in the 30's. I guess this book didn't make me ooh and aah. Not disappointed but just not overly thrilled with it. Was struggling between giving 3 or 4 stars.

Haven't watched the movie, but want to, when is another question! Always enjoy watching the movies after reading the books, or other way around, whichever the case may be!! Since I reached the fall reading challenge goal I set for myself and have time before the end of the challenge, decided to read one more. Ray Bradbury "Something Wicked this way Comes". The cover has red, orange and yellow on it.

Speaking of movies adapted from books. Two of my favorite films currently in theaters are The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Cloud Atlas. Both of these were based on books - has anyone both read the book seen the movie and have an opinion on either or both of these? Just curious :-) loved the films very much
